I guess it makes things simple when instead of teams trading players-for-picks they agree on drafting a player for another team, regardless it seems this deal would make sense for both sides if Amare decides to an extension w/ Washington which he said would happen after pimpin’ himself to NY and WSH on the radio last week…
Wiz:
PG: Arenas
SG: Stevenson
SF: Butler
PF: Stoudemire
C: McGee/HaywoodSuns:
PG: Nash
SG. J-Rich
SF: Grant Hill/Player from WSH (Nick Young possibly)
PF: Wiz #5 pick (Jordan Hill) as Amare replacement
C: Shaq
Plus: #14th pick and 40 mil coming of the books after 20100 - Posted on: Wed, 06/17/2009 - 12:32pm #166734

Meditated StatesParticipantNeither team made the playoffs so why switch rosters?

maravich44ParticipantI think this is a terrible deal for Suns. They should extend Amare. If Love is worth 2nd pick in draft (questionably), how could Amare Stoudemire only be worth the 5th. He’s a much better, more established player. Yes, he makes money. Most of the stud players do. You don’t win in the NBA without these type of guys.

DirtyDezParticipantDoesn’t mean Jordan Hill would be as good as Amare, but PHX is losing Stoudemire after next year anyway so you might as well recieve some value for him, I doubt Jamison will be in WSH but he could also be involved in the PHX trade. The Wizards starting line-up w/ Amare is one of the better starting squads in the league and PHX would obviously be re-building, after next season w/ Shaq and Nash coming off the books PHX will have 40 mil free’d up plus having the #14 pick this year to draft a PG to replace Nash. It’s all ‘what if’ but there have been multiple reports of PHX-WSH in trade-talks and I think both teams would benefit plus the Suns don’t want Amare in the western-conference…

Meditated StatesParticipantIf they can trade Amare and get Jamison that is good. Jamison is a better rebounder and he scores more than 20 a game. Tell you the truth I might want Jamison over STAT anyways. STAT plays no D and does not rebound as much as Jamison who gets 11 a night to STATS 8. Jamison gets 20 plus no problem like STAT.

RickyRubio9ParticipantWiz gave up their pick and Nick Young then that’d be a pretty good deal for the Suns I would think. Chances are Amare doesn’t resign with neither team though because Agent Zero is still the Franchise in Washington believe it or not and Amare wants to be that. I believe Nick Young is a Point Guard so he could be the Nash replacement and if I remember correctly alot of people like that kid then drafting Hill would help as well to replace Amare. Suns would just be calling it quits for a title if they traded Amare though while the Wiz could look legit. Either way Amare would be unhappy…I think.

crazyknicksfanParticipantif the trade happens the trade will be good for the suns because they have too much veteran players who are getting old. trading amare for the pick would be good because at least they can draft a solid rookie who can contribute in a few years or right away.
it will be good for the wizards because amare will give them a strong inside presence offensively and defensively

RickyRubio9ParticipantDid someone just say Amare and defense in the same sentence?

NYK2010ParticipantTrade not going to happen, no one is trading for Amare till his eye problems are done. Unless a team is ready to compete for a title or looking to dump salary why would they trade for Amare he’s a free agent next year. Amare and Jamison both play very lil D that much is true. Suns looking to cut payroll not add more salary w/ a 33 year old forward in Jamison he’s still got 40mill the next 3 years on his contract. More unrealistic rumors if its going to happen it will around the trade deadline.

RickyRubio9Participantsay Jamison to the Suns
He is assuming Jamison gets traded to the Cavs then Amare would be their new PF. Suns just get a player and their number 5 pick0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/17/2009 - 2:29pm #166860
NYK2010ParticipantOkay then it makes sense but didn’t Wiz turn down that deal in Feb.?
