jaysmith1987ParticipantIf Amare keeps his play up and leads his team to the playoffs and gets the knicks to 50 wins he has to be mvp this year. So far he has been worth every bit of the money he’s made. He’s turning around a franchise that has been miserable for the last five years and he is producing even uping his rebounding and defense. He is one of the rare players today who went to another team to be the man and lead his team to victory. I mean last year the suns were in western conference title he decides to go to team that hasn’t been in at least five years and if he delivers he deserves mvp just like when nash turned around suns its time to stop bashing stoudemire because he doesn’t average 15boards and shut down everyone he plays and start giving him credit for being one of best offensive power forwards who has dominated in big games people forget that amare has hung 40 on tim duncan considered the greatest power forward of all time on numerous occasions.

Mr. 19134ParticipantI thought going into the season he could lead the East in scoring.
He is playing out of his mind right now and I am not at all surprised this is Amare Stoudemire and he has really never gotten the full credit he deserves for being as dominant as he is capable of being.
Last night’s game was a perfect example of a force of nature, he made a few plays where you could just see STAT had already determined nobody would stop him on. He still get’s off the ground so fast and has the be the scariest player to guard one on one in the league.

ilike.panochasParticipantWell the usual MVP candidates are not having the “MVP year” that they typically have. Lebron is on a new team and is doesnt have to put up the same stats he did a year ago, Kobe (while still deadly) doesnt have to carry the scoring load in LA, Kevin Durant has been banged up this year, Chris Paul is coming off the knee problems from last year, Carmelo’s numbers are down, so Amare definitely has emerge as the favorite MVP right now, along with Derrick Rose.

Scottoant93Participantif he keeps this up and leads his team to 50. Walsh did a good job of putting this team togather and they fit well in d’antoni’s system.Felton, Amare, Gallo, Chandler supplement each other well.

HitsterParticipantSTAT has shown that he can do it without Steve Nash, Raymond Felton is a very good PG who is playing his best basketball of his career but he’s never going to be the PG that Steve Nash was during his peak at Phoenix. Both STAT and Felton seem to have really taken to the extra responsibility given to them on a young team and at the moment STAT must be in the running for MVP but there is a long way to go.

sammybuckeye13ParticipantI agree Amare is a top contender but Felton cannot be overlooked in the "turning the franchise around" respect…
Felton 09-10: 12.1 points 5.6 assists 1.5 steals 0.8 threes 45.9% FG 76.3% FT
Felton 10-11: 18.7 points 8.9 assists 2.0 steals 1.8 threes 46.4% FG 90.1% FT
He’s playing like the top 5 pick he was and is my personal frontrunner for MIP. I think the East is taking 3 point guards this year he’s definitely an All-Star.

esperanzafleet69Participantvery true… but for people that think this is suprising, this is how good every thought he’d be before the second knee injury and the eye injury… lets hope he stays healthy so he can continue this run..

sheltwon3ParticipantI am glad Amare is finally getting his props and people are done with that he needed Nash thing. Also I am glad Felton if finally getting some respect and if he can continue playing at the level he is not only will he make the All Star game but he should meet my prediction of 20 pts. 10 assts. or exceed. I do understand I am being petty right now.

BKKnicksfanParticipantRight now, Amar’e gets my respect and vote for MVP
28-9-2 on a winning team right now. I think the Knicks should look into adding O.J. Mayo and Carmelo Anthony ( I’m gonna keep saying Mayo, that man is a steal at his value right now)
Felton has impressed me as well. Thanks Bobcats for giving up on him for D.J. Augustine. Thank you

yanks28thParticipantFelton’s been great and all, but Amare has really proven that he doesn’t need Nash to be an elite player in the NBA. He’s really settled any doubt of whenever he was a top 10 NBA player, and if he continues his performance for the rest of the season, and the Knicks manage to win 50 games, then I’d imagine he’d at least be in the discussion. Man being a Knicks fan is completly different these days. Last year it was an embaressment. This year, it’s something to be proud of.

dukeno110Participantif he keeps playing like this theres no dobt in my mind he will be MVP, clearly he is the best player in the NBA right now averaging 26 points a game only Kevin Durant is averaging more (27.4 PPG).
So if yiu guys had to pick who is you MVP? right now

yanks28thParticipantI love Amare, but it would have to be Dirk Norwitski, by a small margin.
