Owners and Stern want absolute power. They have the money, and most of the paying public seems to be favoring them.

The funny thing is,ownership will try to use the players to bring the fans back with ads on tv abd billboards

Isn’t stern the good guy? From reports it looks like the owners don’t really like this deal, that’s why stern has given an ultimatum.

This looks lethal. The smell of sweaty feet plus the pressure applied to the neck could knock a man unconscious in seconds. I’d embed it, but those jabronis won’t allow me.

I think it was incredibly unneccessary to use that word, whether he meant it or not. We are aware that Stern is Jewish and not a lesbian, but regardless, not only as someone who is Jewish, but just in general, there was no need to make that distinction. It is completely fine if you dislike the way David Stern has handled the lockout, because it in many ways has sucked.

I think that it is ridiculous to call him names and use religious epithets. I for one feel that while Stern is the face of the lockout, he is a person who actually wants the season to start. To have issue with him is completely avoiding that he can only start the season when the two sides come to some sort of an agreement. Stern is much more of the middle man in this whole thing rather than the one pulling the strings.

He has owners who are upset with their shares, who are technically his bosses. He also has players who find him to be a patsy for the owners and not thinking in their best interest. It is his job to get a deal done, but I think the two sides have been much more of the issue rather than only David Stern. It is fine to be angry with him, but realize you should probably be more angry at a bunch of other people who have prolonged this lockout. Marcusfizer, if you did mean to say what TC so claims, or even if you didn’t, than that is pretty messed up. I would also say you should try to do whatever the hell you want to do to Stern on Michael Jordan, but again, Stern definitely seems like the easier target.

whats funny Is Blacks(AKA the Most racist group of people in the world…) are usually some of the biggest haters of Jewish people/white people/Asians/Indians/hispanics and etc…ask Marcus Fizer or Taylor Condrin if they even know any Jewish people(Televison Stars Excluded, we all know The Jews run Hollywood, lol)…Statements like this are very Mel Gibson like(and I loved Mel Gibson before the anti-semietic rant)…To hate on Stern is a Joke in its self, he’s not a player and he’s not an owner, he’ll paid a Salary if the CBA is a 50/50 split or the owners Take a 60/40 split…whats hilarious is people can side the Players After all of this, the lock out is entirely their fault…

if your boss came up to you and said Hey, Micheal, this recession has the economy in the toilet and we cant continue running a profitable business unless we make a change in our pay scale and you and all your fellow employees just need to agree to the changes to go back to work and ensure all our workers will have a job in 10 years, then you say No , Im not taking a pay cut to help the companies bottom line and we can all stay unemployed until you the owners of the Company I Work For caters to my demands…if the teachers of this Great Country can take pay cuts them why cant the Athletes…what do they provide other than Entertainment…All Racial/social issues aside, this lock out will end soon unless THE PLAYERS feel They Deserve More than 50 percent of another Man’s Company…tell your boss you want Half and see what he tells you…

How is it ridiculous? Your scenario is not really all that applicable. The Players are already giving up 4% regardless, they just do not want to give up more than that. For the people who think that the players are nitpicking, if they chose to accept the 50/50 deal, they would be losing 3 billion dollars over 10 years (numbers from Howard Beck of the New York Times)! That is one hell of a concession in my opinion.

The players only demand is to have a fair share. They are the ones making the concessions, not the other way around. It is not the owners saying that they want the season to start and the players saying "Not until you meet our demands". It is the owners saying, "You have to take a lot less, or we are not having a season". I guess you could see it from both ways, but I find your scenario is WAY off.

    Here is the real scenario:

Your boss brings you in to his office and says, "Well, it is the recession and 22 out of my 30 partners are losing money. So, we are going to cut all of the workers salaries by 7% to try and make them all profitable".

You also have these strong thoughts:

    • You do not know how much money they are losing, but you think it is significantly less than they say
    • If the 8 bosses who were making money gave some to the 22 not making money, their is a strong chance they would ALL be profitable
    • These owners have other interests and things that make them money, and are richer than you will ever be or have dreamed of
    • The workers will than lose an exorbitant amount of income, since this will go on for a long period of time
    • If your workers lose 7%, they are just doing it to satisfy the owners greed

I am usually on the side of the person making less money when it comes to that. In this case, that is the players. These guys are all making so much money, it is crazy. But, the players are the ones being asked to make all of the concessions while the owners are just trying to get money back so the 22 teams can be profitable while the 8 teams will be even more profitable!

I think people tend to look at it like, "Well, they are all getting so much money, why should they care?" Well, it works both ways, and I go with the people making less while definitely deserving a fair share of the total profits. They had that, and they should not lose as much as the owners are trying to force them to. If you lost 7% of your paycheck, and were told everyone would do so for the next 10 years just to make someone feel richer, you or I might be alright with that. But, if we had the chance to fight for more, or get another job, would those not become incredibly viable options? I certainly think so.
