I know everyone is bummed about Embiid – me too.  But here is how we make lemonade out of a lemon.  If Exum somehow goes 1-2 – we take who is left Parker/Wiggins.

If those 2 are gone (most likely) we take………………….Exum

Why ?  We have MCW.  Because Exum as an asset will get us more from another team than any other guy we could take.

    Magic ?  I know you want him – I’ll take #4, Mo Harkless and a future 2nd

Jazz ?  I know you like him – I’ll take #5, Alec Burks and a new car

What I want, on a team with as many holes as a hunk of swiss cheese is to come away with 2 starters.  We’d use the pick on Randle/Vonleh and still have #10.

All is not lost – there are 10 teams that will offer up for Exum or MCW (though I’m not really interested in parting with Mike – he’s tight with Noel and I don’t want to rock the boat).  Thats smarter than reaching at 3.

See you in the green room

    SH

If I get two starters off the 3rd pick I have room to be creative @ 10 – we take a gamble of Emiids injury there or take a flier on Saric, even if he doesn’t come over this year.  I’m happy we’ve got two starters to build around.  Thad can slide to his more natural 3 spot where he should be able to still avg 16-18

I don’t think either team makes that trade, The jazz would only trade up to take parker. The jazz could get Payton at 12 who they are high on. I don’t think either team gives up some young talent when they can still build and keep their talent

Or we can just draft Exum and play him at the 2.

The point being drafting him gives you the most options.  Just taking Randle at 3 is great, but it just gets you Randle.  I rather take him 4-6 and get other pieces

If they pick at #3, this is what I think they do.

I don’t think the Sixers care at all about "fit" at this point in the rebuilding process. All they are doing at the moment are acquiring the best players possible.

It boggles my mind when people say they’d pass on Exum because him & MCW can’t play together.

As I mentioned in another thread, Randle was in the top 3/4 conversation for a long time. I don’t think anything he did his freshman year pushed him down. Taking Exum @ 3 and trading him for Randle and Burks would be sweet. At that point they would have their starting 5 (Noel, Thad, Randle, MCW, Burks) and haven’t even used pick 10 yet.

You already had Harkless and stupidly traded him and Vucevic

The 76ers had Harkless and Vucevic and traded them, but Hinkie wasn’t with the team until the following off season.

yeah if wiggins or parker aren’t there you trade down I doubt the magic will trade with the sixers they would just take whoever falls out of smart and exum.

lets say the magic really want exum lets just say they do I want a future first rounder along with the 4th. The magic plan on going to the playoffs anyhow they don’t want to be back in the lottery. not likely though.

Utah wouldn’t want to move up to the third when they have burks&burc inc going on.

if im the sixers I would look into Sacramento also with the 3rd pick because randle might still be on the board
I would love for the sixers to take bmac and a a future first rounder to swap 3 and 8.
and with that they can pull a deal with the lakers trading thad and the 10 for nash and the 7th. steves contract runs thru next year why not exchanging him for thad and draft a pg with the 10th

all in all the sixers walk away with the 7th,and 8th picks still be able to get smart or randle or whoever they like and net a future first rounder from the kings for 2018 or 2019 unprotected or with low protection.

I would love for them to do both the deal with the sac and lakers the most.

plus they still would have options with their caproom and second rounders to still maneuver hinkie is in position to dominate sometimes you win when you lose. He lost this but won a chance to make sure we can make the most out of the 2015 and 2016 draft by trading for late picks ,stashing players, future picks, and takeing assets back and exchange for bad contracts.
