llperezI got kobe number 1. He has won more titles then either of the other two and still might get more. And i know its popular to point out how kobe wouldnt have his titles without shaq, but shaq wouldnt have his without kobe either. They were both first team all nba. and arguably the two best players in the game for that 2nd and 3rd one.

Michael.S.ParticipantKobe is the best player there. Shaq is tied with Duncan for second.
They are all great players but Kobe has more rings no matter who he won them with and he has had great/historical individual performances that will seperate him.

NarcParticipantYes, but Kobe needed Shaq to get three of those rings. I think a lot of people forget that.

theEDGEParticipantShaq needed Kobe as much as Kobe needed Shaq.
And if you go by that standard it would mean that Duncan would’ve been lower ,because he needed David Robinson.0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/17/2010 - 4:50am #355902

mini_marzParticipantme personally i gotta go with TD… a lot of people may not agree with me… he is the most consistant player we have seen in the NBA for a long time… and people dont know that the Spurs have the best winning percentage in all the major sports (nba, mlb, nfl, nhl) since he has been drafted… and yea he needed DRob, but didn’t TD get the MVP finals that year? Kobe and Shaq are also greats, but i always would take Duncan, Shaq career has been going downhill for sometime now and Kobe is great yes, but his teams were pretty bad for a few years (yea i know the talent wasn’t that great)… plus kobe loses points to me since he cried and complained about his team (remember the bynum insidient, when he claimed to not know him?) i think Tim Duncan is a player that we take for granted a lot cuz he is not spectacular… 20-10-2bpg for life lol

duhrant35ParticipantDwyane Wade said in his interview that no one wins rings alone. So the argument that Player A can’t win without player B is dumb. As much I would like to discount MJ and Kobe’s rings, they still won them as either the best second best player on the team. They each had good players around them with one other great player, so, yes, they needed teammates to win.

dipt1982ParticipantIt’s funny how people keep saying Kobe needed Shaq. If anything, Shaq needed Kobe, and he also needed D. Wade. So in that thinking Shaq could thank Kobe and Wade for all 4 rings he has. Just like Shaq tried to ‘LATCH’ onto LeBron James to win another ring, he’s been on a team with another superstar for all of his rings, and continues to try winning that way…
And yeah, Kobe had some shitty teams, but he always got them in the playoffs, even with Kwame Brown, LOL…this argument is pointless, haters will hate on Kobe forever…

bullsfan121212in being the best player on a team and a second best player. and shaq and duncan both have more finals mvps than kobe. i would rather have three finals mvps and four rings then 2 finals mvps and five rings. kobe would trade a ring in for a finals mvp for sure. if kobe gets 6 finals mvps then he would pass jordan because he would have more overall titles
nba finals mvps first tie breaker
overall championships second tie breakerif kobe has more titles then those two and it makes him better than robert horry is better than all of them and no one makes that argument.

llperezjordan and duncan probably wouldnt have gotten finals mvp over a prime shaq either. It was crazy the way he was beasting those teams in the finals. ANd you are crazy if you think kobe would trade in a championship in order to have a finals mvp award.

dipt1982Participantbullsfan, get off the crack, Shaq was a beast, and he had to have Kobe to win any of those rings…Kobe is better than any player in the game today based on what he’s won. You think Tim Duncan is content with having four rings? I’m sure he would trade a Finals MVP for a fifth ring, BANK ON THAT!
