Since we’re going to be missing so many players this year with three already ruled out and Davis and Melo hampered with injuries in the week before the game, I want to ask two questions.  Who do you predict will start for both sides and who gets in with Wade out and who might replace Melo and Davis if they skip?

For me, I think Korver will replace Wade.  If Melo sits out, which I doubt at this point, I’d like to see him replaced with Vucevic, even though he’s on an awful team.  As for Davis,  I could see him sitting out to get healthy for the stretch run to get the 8th seed.  So for him I’m thinking Conley or Zbo.  I’d rather see conley because he’s having such a great year but if they want to replace him with a big it might be Zbo since they’re the #2 team in the West and only have 1 AllStar.

For the starters I think it will be Wall, Lowry, James, Melo, and Gasol for the East.  For the West I think it will be Curry, Harden, Thompson, Davis, and Gasol with Aldridge getting a lot of run in Davis’ place.

If AD misses it, then I think they go with Z Bo.  Z Bo could start with Marc, but they might start Aldridge instead.

Or, they could go small, with Curry, Westbrook, Harden, Durant, and Gasol.  Best five.  Roll them out there.

Another thing, with the MVP race being tight, I would like to see Steph, LeBron, Harden, Westbrook, and even Marc Gasol (and Davis if he plays) make their case.  Use the ASG as a grand stage.  Use it to launch the second half of the season.

If Steph Curry goes crazy and wins the ASG MVP AND the 3 Point Shoot Out, then in the back of your mind, he is the MVP front runner at that point.

If ZBo is chosen of course he’ll not start. The starter would be a guy who already was selected.
