I read about him but never seen him play. I read that he needs to become more agressive because he has the skill set to do it. I wonder where he would be ranked in this years class since he’s a year older than his class because he repeated his freshman year.

I heard he dropped a bit in the ranking because I remember a couple months ago he was in the 7-9 range. I think maybe Shabazz could follow but I hear another guard (Nolan Smith type) is high on Duke named Rasheed Sulaimon. Do you think if Sheed commits that that will force Shabazz to go elsewhere because I’m thinking Nolan also sat on the bench during his freshman year.

I don’t think anyone could force Shabazz to follow. Have you seen this kid play, he is the truth as far as putting the ball in the basket. He is truley unstoppable on his level( Micheal Gilchrist did a great job on him for a half then he went to work)

  Sulaimon is very close to pulling the trigger with Duke, but I don’t think that really impacts Bazz that much, Sulaimon is a Daniel Ewing type player.

 Oh, and I actually think Murphy plays more like Mike Dunleavy Jr. than Singler, he’s more of a 3/4 than a 4/3.

^Yes definitely, but that also requires them beating out UNC, as well as UK, who has definitely made a huge push recently.

I like that comparison a lot, minus the lockdown D of course. I’m not sure yet what his game will look like in the league(assuming he makes it), but I think in college he will play a lot like Prince did at UK.

That Alex Murphy might also be a possible early enrollee to Duke? Word is he might possibly graduate a year early and join the 2011 class, exactly like Andre Dawkins did in 2009. Seeing that Kyle Singler and Nolan Smith will be gone, and that Kyrie Irving in my mind still is very likely to leave for the draft, having a wing of Murphy’s size might not be bad at all. Starting line-up would more than likely be Mason Plumlee, Ryan Kelly, Andre Dawkins, Austin Rivers at either point or two, along with maybe Quinn Cook or Seth Curry fighting for the last spot. I would probably give Cook the advantage as more of a pure point, with Curry being their first option off the bench, Duke going with a three guard line-up seems more than likely at most times. Nonetheless, Murphy would be a nice addition to their recruiting class and would definitely get some meaningful PT. I think Kyle Singler was a more polished product entering college, but Murphy might be a better long term prospect. Big signing for Duke, and I believe they should probably work towards getting him in early.

I heard that too Mikey but people seem to forget about michael gbinije being a decent 3

And i think with what he has shown in the past few games (unless Rivers plays it/Irving comes back) the starting pg spot is tyler thorntons to lose

I have indeed heard that, and it is a possibility and he is certainly leaving the door open, but as of right now he will graduate in 2012.
