Just kind of curious, I was skimming next years mock draft and saw his name in the late second round. Didn’t really follow him much this year but I do remember him being a lottery and quite possibly a top 10 pick I believe before the season. So basically, does anyone know what the hell happened?

“Last summer, the 7-foot-1 Alec Brown was being projected as a possible first-round pick, but his stock fell this season after he got off to a slow start. He averaged 14.1 points, 6.0 points and 1.7 blocked shots per game for a team that went 18-16 and finished tied for third in the Horizon League, its best finish in Wardle’s three seasons as coach. Brown was a second-team, all-Horizon League selection after being a first-team pick as a sophomore.

He’s a highly skilled big man that can rebound, good shooter, great 1st step, can take his man off the dribble and he can block shots..But he’s too perimeter oriented,a poor defender and more importantly he lacks strength……

Alec Brown and Tony Mitchell were both considered lottery picks last season..But neither guy dominanted this season as much as many thought they would…Brown and Mitchell’s stats were down all across the board this season….And playing in weaker smaller conferences, scouts expected more….

I think Brown’s problem is that he grew 10 inches (6’3-7’1) while he was in high school and he’s still learning how to play like a big man….Another year in school to work on his body and post game,he could move back into 1st round consideration in 2014……
