My question today is who is going to be a better player for the future Al Jefferson or Chris Bosh?

Chris Bosh is 26 and Al Jefferson is 25. I looked up each players best year meaning when they had the best stats here they are:

Chris Bosh, 24 PPG, 10.8 RPG, 1.0 BPG, and 2.4 APG.

Al Jefferson, 23.1 PPG, 11 RPG, 1.7 BPG, and 1.6 APG.

Jefferson is not going to be on a losing team any more he is going from the lowly Timberwolves to a playoff team in the Jazz. He is actually going to be healthy when the season starts and he will actually have an all-star for a point guard in Deron Williams. I expect big things from Al Jefferson this year, next year, and for years to come. He should do pretty good this year and I believe he is going to do wonders playing for the Jazz. This could be the Jazz’s version of a Pau Gasol trade. I expect 24 PPG, 11.7 RPG, 1.5 BPG, and 1.9 APG and a all-star appearance this year for the Jazz.

Bosh, like Jefferson isn’t going to be on a losing team any more. He is going from the lowly Raptors to a good playoff team in the Heat. But, the downfall is he isn’t going to be the number one option of offense anymore he is going to be the 3rd option, also being the 3rd option comes good things too, they don’t have to rely on you for all of the points and it takes some pressure off of yourself. Bosh’s averages won’t be as good as they have been, but they will still be pretty good. I expect 20 PPG, 9.5 RPG, 1.0 BPG, and 4 APG and a all-star appearence from Bosh this year for the Heat.

Who is going to be the better player for the future Al Jefferson or Chris Bosh?

Jefferson could be better. All depends on if he’s fully recovered from the ACL tear. He’s 2 years removed from it so he could be better.

I think Chris Bosh is more versatile for the PF position, but Jefferson will get the better stats, as mentioned. Both of them are pretty average, at best, defensively, but I think Jefferson has more potential to be a better low post defender. I think it’s a close call on who’s better.

Jefferson could be better but Bosh is more polished and appears to be the smarter basketball player.

Forreal I like Bosh Miami is a team that has focused on defense and with Bosh not having as much pressure on the offensive side any more I think he could be a great defender his body type and athleticism remind me of KG, not saying he’ll be as good but much better on that side of the ball than he’s been in the past.

Remember how much better ray allen and paul pierce got on defense with KG on the team, I feel lebron, d wade, and the miami heat in general will have the same effect on Bosh

It is not that close. Not surprised who made the post. Cousinsfan, the thing you are missing out on is that Chris Bosh had those stats LAST SEASON. Al Jeff, while coming back from injury, was not close. Their is a reason Chris Bosh keeps making the All-Star team, and it was not just because he was in the East. He got to the Raptors when they were horrible, and led them into mediocrity, which was not an easy task. Jefferson may be a better shot blocker, he is after all a bigger framed player, but I would say Chris Bosh is just flat out better at everything else. Bosh’s mid range jumper is buckets and he is a very hard match-up. He may never be able to guard Dwight Howard, but neither could Jefferson, but Bosh could give Howard fits on the offensive end much more so than Jefferson. Yes, they will have different roles, but Kevin Garnett is a third option and I still see him as being a better flat out player than Al Jefferson. I think the Jazz did well by trading for Al due to the loss of Boozer, but I do not see their team being better. Jefferson still has a lot to prove, and he has yet to prove he is a better PF than Bosh in any way.

Funny how you posted stats from 2 years ago for Jefferson lol. I think everyone is overhyping this Jefferson Utah situation. Millsap should be getting an advanced role this year so dont expect anything more then a 20 11 season from Big Al. 23 -11 is alot…

This is exactly what I have been thinking for quite awhile. What you guys don’t realize is that Big Al averaged those numbers without playing alongside an All-star PG like Dwill. Now that he is for the first time he is going to do wonders. What’s even better is that he loves Utah already and he hasn’t even played a game for them yet! When a player loves where he will do his best. Yes, those averages were from 2 years ago, but that was before the ACL injury, now that he is fully healed and recovered, he should average those same numbers if not better numbers. Pretty soon this will be a debatable topic, who’s better Chris Bosh or Al Jefferson.
The only thing I worry about is how he will do with the pick and roll. I’ve heard that he is not really a pick and roll player. But I am certain the Jazz can adapt to him, or since Big Al loves Utah so much, he will be willing to develop his game, and maybe even add a nice 15ft jumper by his 2nd year in Utah. Put that along with the 25pts per game and 1.5 blocks and you have a player that could be considered better than Chris Bosh.

Jefferson is actually one of the best players in the low post something Bosh is not. The question was who is the better power forward. One of these guys lacks the power in power forward which means that Jefferson could be a better power forward and still not be a better player. Bosh can do more than what a power forward requires but some thing that are key to that position he is just average in. I still have Bosh but Jefferson is a 20 10 guy and a big body down low and if he can just play a lick of defense. It is a good argument on who you would like to have. A versatile finesse big man like Bosh or a banger with limited defensive skills like Jefferson. I think Jefferson is a better fit for Utah than Bosh would be and Bosh is a better fit than what Jefferson would be in Miami because I am think Miami will run the ball and be quick on defense because they lack a legit defensive 5 man.

You guys must not have seen Al Jefferson play last season (stands to reason that the Wolves are never on national tv).
It wasn’t pretty… he was a black hole and his post-up moves had suffered a big hit from his knee injury. He could possibly get back to where he was prior to his injury physically, but he played with no fire the entire season. From what I witnessed last season I wouldn’t be surprised if he had a “Vin Baker type” flameout. He’s been paid… he’s been badly injured.

You know people say when someone is going from
one team with no allstar point guard to another with a allstar pg it does wonders. I think it helps but I’m tryna remember when it has done wonders. Jason Richardsons stats did explode once he started playing with Nash. Maybe boozer and dwill but boozer was already heading to that level and I think in Chicago he will still get his numbers. I’m sure there is prob a case somewhere but I can’t remember
