Mr. BasketballParticipantAfter Deandre Jordan’s offseason improvement… why can’t he become like the present Dwight Howard? Deandre Jordan has added a few post moves to his game like those of dwight howard (moves that they can take advantage of do to their size and strength). Also, he has added 15 pounds of muscle so that he is now 280 pounds. He has clearly been the fastest center to the ball in the games the clippers have been as he just attacks the boards every possession. Also, he has that ferocious dunking mentality of dwight and has great hops like dwight does. He also has nice touch around the hoop (it has improved this offseason) but like dwight, struggles from the free throw line. why can’t he become the player that dwight howard currently is?

dwat4444ParticipantI don’t watch enough of him to know a lot but I do know that he’s not the centerpiece in L.A. Howard has always been the face of Orlando while LA has Davis, Griffin, Thornton, and Gordon who are all considered better.

bluedevils12Participanthe can become the player dwight is but the question is will he be motivated to work hard like dwight did. and wat is his personality like? i think if is wat i hope he can be which is a meaner version of dwight who doesnt act silly and smile all the time while on the court then he can be one of the best centers in the league 1 day.

Mr. BasketballParticipanthe has the exact personality of dwight howard, but he works really hard. this offseason he bulked up a lot and added some post moves and improved his free throw shooting plus his conditioning.

Meditated StatesParticipantThere are not too many good Centers in the league. If he continues to progress the way he has this off season he will be one of the best in the league. He was a steal where he was draft because good bigs are hard to find.

Cosgrove03Participantif the clippers want to get the future on the right track they play their younger players and maybe trade some of their older post players.
Pg- davis
Sg- gordon
Sf- thronton
Pf- griffin
C- Jordon/caman
they could use Caman as trade bait?0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/15/2009 - 1:44pm #182097

sheltwon3ParticipantThe way things are looking, They should trade Kaman. You want to keep Camby. He is solid and has veteran leadership.

JNixonParticipantYea if Jordan develops into the player we all know he could be, Chris Kaman would get shopped around.

STEVEDOT2ParticipantJordan can slide to the power foward dont forget dwight is a natrual power foward….
i doubt they will play brain skinner over jordan if skinner is even on the roster still

LazarusMunozParticipantBeing a huge clipper fan, theres a still a few knocks on his game….but hes made great improvement in the offseason
He dribbles the ball to high or sometimes too far from his body, this leads to smaller guards coming over and poking the ball away…..He still tries to dunk everything a lil too much….Free Throws,i think he had an 0 for whatever in the first game
With all that being said,he seems to actually really enjoy playing for the clippers and seems to have devolped a strong work ethic, which was something that questioned coming out of college
BTW-Brian Skinner is gone

IndianaBasketballParticipantI’m a HUGE fan of DeAndre and I’m not surprised about his improvement. As a Clipper follower, I saw flashes of brilliance from him last season. He improved so much from the beginning of last season to the end. I think the main thing that stood out about him was that he accepted his role and didn’t complain about playing time. There’d be games he played 20 plus minutes and others he registered a DNP.
I’ve been saying for the longest that his athleticism reminds me of Dwight’s. IF he continues to work hard (on his body, IQ, etc) I think the sky is the limit for him. I’m saying RIGHT now that he was the steal of the 2008 NBA Draft. Dunleavy BETTER find this kid some consistent playing time next season.

LazarusMunozParticipantI think with the way injuries have plagued the Clipper big men last year(and with Chris Kamans off season’s intrests favoring hunting and fishing rather than working on his game) DeAndre gonna get his shot to start some time in the season! But Yeah but Dumbleavy needs to find a way to make him a regular part of the rotation!

SmooveKRYPTParticipantHim and Blake Griffin have become really close this summer, and we all know how hard of a worker Blake is, so its rubbing off on DeAndre…if the Clips can find a taker for Kaman and let DeAndre back up Camby this year, then take over the reigns in 2010-2011 when Camby expires this kid is gonna make some big time noise!!!
He’s gonna be the best Center in LA very soon!!!
And the Dwight comparison is perfect…he right now is where Dwight was when he came into the league, so if he keeps improving at the same pace, he’ll be dominant in 4 or 5 years!!!0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/15/2009 - 5:22pm #182208

Mr. BasketballParticipantthere is no need to trade kaman or camby. camby and griffin should be the starters. then DJ comes in for griffin and kaman for camby. DJ can play pf. also, camby is jordan’s mentor so he can’t be traded, plus camby will be gone next season since he is a free agent so it works out well with him stepping in to replace camby and be the main backup big if not the starting center. there is no need for a trade.
