Commish Silver suggested another tournament as well as the regular season championship. He was referencing Englands "FA" cup. These tournament games continue concurrently with the regular season games.  These teams are not only BPL ( British Premier League) teams, but other teams from lower divisions. For example, D- League teams would be able to compete.

 

I would like to see a competition where NBA teams  would be able to play European teams. They have a competition like this already called the "Euroleague" I think it would be cool if the NBA would stop for a week and they would play in Europe, and Vice Versa. 

 

It could work like this

The teams with top 8 records could play agains the top 8 Euro Teams

It would be like

Maccabi Tel Aviv  vs La Clippers

Olympiacos vs Miami Heat

Real Madrid vs San Antonio Spurs

ect, ect, ect

NBA teams would treat it like pre-season, without substantial cash rewards people wouldn’t care. Just like the Lakers didn’t care.

can you imagine if this was hosted after the play-offs and the top 4 teams that dint make the play-offs get the invite to go. as for incentive, adam silver will reward the NBA team that places highest in the tourney the 4th pick of the draft that year. will give teams that cant make the play-offs still incentive to not tank and win games for a chance to be one of the 4 teams to be selected and a shot at an extra pick at the top of the draft.

 silver doesnt have to incentivise the players, just the teams. its up to the management and coaching staff to motivate or incentivise their players.

 Won’t happen for a few reasons.  Current CBA.  Additional games means additional money.  Risk of injury.  Mid-season?  Teams won’t give a sh*t about some meaningless tourney.  They are obviously going to care more about their own season, and playoff aspirations.

making the first round 31 selections in the second round 30 essentially having 61 picks in the draft.

The winner gets the 31st selection the first round. then it goes back in the normal order for the second round.

Also  teams have been rewarded with tanking with high picks. how about they also rewards teams for winning. the winner of the tournament get  2% percent chance of winning increase  for the next time they enter the lottery they max you can have is 6% increase so basically you can enter this tourney 3 years and max out and let other teams compete. . you can enter this while you are in playoff contention teams like the wolves can be able to get help now and secure their future somewhat.

the reason for a lottery team is their chances will increase to win the lotto

the reason for playoff teams to enter is  nothing last forever and if they enter 1,2or3 years

whenever the time comes to rebuild they are sitting on an extra 2 ,4 , 6 percent increase in winning and a couple extra 31st picks.

this would make the league way more competitive and if you think that’s not fair playoff teams will stomp the lower teams for this not true one game elimination and if your a playoff team do you risk your players logging extra minutes outside of contending for a championship and risk injury also wearing down.

its a gamble its innovate it makes the league way more competitive.

I can see some of the top euro teams getting invited but what would they win but cash? theres nothing else the league can offer since they are not part of the league.
