Lotto StudParticipantAdam Silver will official screw over the game with a playoff seeding rule change to be effective in the 2019-2020 season.

OhCanada-ParticipantAre you talking about abolishing the East vs. East and West vs. West standings format?

Lotto StudParticipantThe proposed idea that was just a “random” idea will eventually become a reality now; sad to say. They don’t speak on these things out of the blue without not testing our initial response as fans/supporters.

whiteflashParticipantWhat’s the new format? Best 16 regardless of conference?

Lotto StudParticipantThat was the sales pitch during the season.

OhCanada-ParticipantMakes sense with Lebron heading out West.

Lotto StudParticipantI despise it! He’s already given 6-8 teams the green light to tank during the stretch of the regular season.

OhCanada-ParticipantYeah I think I’m done with this league. Theyve gone completely commercial.

Lotto StudParticipantIt’s a catch-22 regardless. The NFL is just as bad, if not worse off because Roger Goodell has destroyed the game with rule changes due to CTE concerns.

whiteflashParticipantHaha, my thoughts exactly. If this actually goes down I’m done with the NBA.

marcusfizer21ParticipantF that man. If he does change the format, I’m done watching it.

Reptilian MonkParticipantNah Adam will like these Lakers/ Warriors and Celtics/Philadephia being in the Finals for the next few years. Lakers vs Celtics of the 80’s is reborn, good for ratings to Silver

SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantI down for a format change. I want the two best teams in the finals. What has made the NBA so much better than other leagues is there flexability in rule changing. 3 point shot, college rule, sinthetic basketballs, the lottery.
I’d like to see them try it for a year and see how the playoffs are.

Jr. ROXASParticipantYea I don’t see the problem with a fromat change. The West is cluttered from like 1-10 of playoff caliber teams. It will be injustice in my opinion to see teams like the Nuggets not make the playoffs every year while teams like Miami and Washington are in it.
With Lebron in the West you have one less spot in a crowded west, and one more spot in a not-so-competitive east. I’m all for it honestly

ThenilonatorParticipantThat will be ridiculous if he does change the format in my opinion. Can you imagine if philly and the Celtics have great records and all other teams in the east fall away, you could have a scenario where there are only 3-4 teams in the east a mathematical chance to make the playoffs at the ALL STAR BREAK! I know there are those that will argue that the 12th best team in the league should be in ahead of the 18th best team but why change with tradition to benefit the 9th best team in a conference? If you don’t finish top 8 in a conference you shouldn’t be considered a realistic challenger anyway. Leave it alone!!
