I still think that there are people on this list who do not necessarily have a sense of humor on this. I just think this could have been maybe more subtly funny rather than, well, mean. It is like Ricky Gervais at the 2010 Golden Globes (I did not watch it, just heard the aftermath). Ricky Gervais is hilarious (my favorite), but some of his jokes were kind of mean and not necessary. Felt that the Robert Downey Jr. one in particular was old news and that Downey Jr. had a great summation:  

"Aside from the fact that it’s been hugely mean-spirited with mildly sinister undertones, I’d say the vibe of the show has been pretty good so far, wouldn’t you?"

I am all about talking things out, but this is too passive-aggressive of a fashion and it gives no real reasoning. I find that you tend to sometimes get an interpretation of a person that is not completely them. Every poster has faults, but how will they improve if you do not at least give them a road map of what is wrong?

By the way, Future_Scout, you joined in 2011. It is next to your name. May not have posted until 2012, but sorry bud, you have an arrow pointing to 11/30/2011.

 MikeyV that was fuccin great it boggles me little head (the bigger little one) that people still don’t always know who Ricky Gervais without having to do the whole, you know the guy from…he was in…

But that was also a grea example of why Robert Downey Jr. is the effin man.  He has one of my favorite scenes in any movie during Tropic Thunder when they tell him the movies over and he’s not black so why are you still talking like it and he just replies with "I don’t drop character till the DVD commentary"  The very fact he played a black guy in a movie that was in a movie was hilarious.  I’d like to see people’s reaction if somebody really did it for a serious film, like casting George Clooney for a Bernie Mac bio epic.  People would flip their lids.

Kevin Hart is the funniest guy alive in my mind just thought i’d throw that out there .

I mean, don’t we all feel like saying this sometimes? Yes, it is kind of snobbish and incredibly dry, but that dude can be funny as hell. He has a good sense of humor, I believe, even if at times his ego and refusal to admit being wrong is out of this world at times. Louisville/Washington>Kentucky debate is one to remember:

Still, I feel that he is right quite often and that sometimes people take him very much out of context. He points to basketball IQ points that many people often miss out on and has opened my eyes quite a few times in debate points over certain players or positions. I find myself agreeing with him much more often than not, though when I disagree his position never really seems to change all that often. I will say he is unflinching, which makes him look brilliant when he is right and confusing/stubborn when he is wrong. Still, I find that he keeps it on talking business, which is basketball.

8th Deadly Sin doesn’t post too much anymore, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t a great poster. He made up a very good system that rates point guards, and aside from the whole Jeremy Lin Facts thread fiasco, and there was a time last summer where he posted ridiculous trades(It’s all good because it was the lockout) he is a good poster that gives good insight on BASKETBALL TOPICS!

Paradigm doesn’t post much either, but I wouldn’t say he’s getting worse. He does his homework on young prospects(Very Young prospects, we’re talking Leroy young), and aside form using too many caps, has great analysis of them too.

And as for Leroy, he’s never posted about basketball, but even he’s as funny as ever.

Gramps, we are all here to talk about basketball, threads like these and the off topic section are extra to stuff on the main board. Either talk about Basketball, or please take your talents to South Beach(meaning Facebook).

And how in the world is Wiz of Oz a mediocore poster? He also doesn’t post much anymore, but when he does he knows his stuff and explains things very clearly.

 I realize that isn’t directed at me, but I’d like to explain myself a bit. I think there are a lot of specialists on this site, guys who know there teams and favorite players well. Kinda calling out my buddy here, but nbanflguy doesn’t know much about any team in the NBA other then the Wolves and doesn’t know anything about college prospects, and he would admit this. He knows the Wolves really well though, and he’s still a good poster. I don’t think there are a lot of people who truly know a lot about the entire game though. Doesn’t mean there are only 15-20 good posters.

No these type of threads are neccesary change of pace excercises that should remind people that it isn’t that serious.  A lot of people get their fruit of a looms all up in a bundle on here often.

I got a question…Do long post bother people?  I know I write a lot and often delete have of what I wrote and still submite a 5 paragraph response to a simple question.  I have the same problem when talking I try to elaborate as much as possible so there is no confusion as to what I mean.

 I don’t have a set list. Plus I’ve seen some great posts by guys who ahve usernames I don’t remember. But a couple people who would be on it are IndianaBasketball, JNixon, MikeyV, surve and BTPH. I’m a fan of providencefriars as well.

@Mr. 19134- The "Abstract" means that it is different from all the positive awards that are usually given out (like the ones Aamir did in November).  They weren’t meant to sound negative, if that’s how it came across.  Like "Mediocre"?  That’s not really a positive or a negative.  And Kevin Hart got way too much play during All-Star Weekend

Alot of guys on here are too young and just started watching basketball in the late 90’s or 2000’s…They might not understand why old school guys will say no matter how many points Kobe scores,or no matter that Kobe was a better athlete or defender then Magic Johnson,he would never be the best Laker of all time,Magic Johnson is the greatest Laker of all time…

Or a young guy might compare Austin Rivers to OJ Mayo,but havent noticed that Rivers have a much better 1st step and a better athlete then Mayo..
