conchahockenParticipantNow that the lottery is behind us, Philly is going to have plenty of options this offseason. clearly, it starts with one of Simmons or Ingram.
Let’s assume Philly goes to Simmons…Now you have a largely crowded frontcourt and still an absence of guards and shooters on the wing. With the new regime BC is bringing in, you know they will be active in at least attempting to add talent in these positions.
A prime buy low target I think could help the program is Brandon Knight. Is he your typical lead guard? absolutely not. But I think with having Simmons assuming some of the PG responsibilites, a guy like Knight who would has voiced his displeasure of being the 6th man due to the emergence of Devin Booker at the 2, would have a great deal of success at the de facto PG for Philly. Remember, he is still just 24 yo. But, Knight with his contract and attitude seems like the odd man out.
I think it’s a great buy low opportunity for Philly to address a couple needs. What would it take to get him? One of Covington/Holmes/Grant + 24th pick?
Philly would still have Okafor, their first next year, Lakers first to dangle, if Chicago was interested in bringing Oak home.

Phenomenal1I think Phoenix should keep Knight as a starter and move Bledsoe. But either way Knight (and Bledsoe also) is a good player.

Sewok15ParticipantKnight would be a nice fit as a spot up shooting PG/SG to play with Simmons. I just don’t think they can get him that easily as Covington/Holmes and Grant are alright for Sixers but they don’t hold a ton of value around the league in my mind.
The depth of this draft isn’t that spectacular that the 24th pick would be enough to get it done. If they moved both their late first rounders maybe but Phoenix already has 3 first round picks this season. It would all most likely have to be part of a bigger deal for the Suns to move up in the draft.
Phoenix will make a move with one of those two guards but with Bledsoe’s injury history he could be the guy and wouldn’t be a great fit in Philly with Simmons.

901GrizzParticipantWhen I made the Suns Future post I thought about Philly as a potential trade target for Bledsoe or Knight. I think one of them is leaving. However, if you look at Philly’s roster I think it would be hard to make that trade happen. They aren’t giving up either of those guys that easily. But yes, I think Philly could be a potential trade partner w/ Phoenix for Bledsoe or Knight if they offered the right players and could make the salary aspect work.

CavFanPRParticipantI think the Lakers pick still has some value. Maybe that pick along with some future picks could get it done.

negguaryParticipantIs way too valuable in next year’s stacked draft for Brandon Knight, sorry. That pick could be Lonzo Ball on a rookie contract as opposed to a mid- level PG getting 70 million. Like NO! LOL

bmac697ParticipantAgreed, please dont trade lakers pick and wait till next year and hopefully draft a PG in the super deep PG draft.

Willfb3ParticipantI think it’s worth moving Noel or Saric as a base for a Knight deal.

PhillySteveParticipantOne of them and more for Knight? Maybe Saric for Booker and Knight.

kdtriv01ParticipantBooker was one of the most impressive rookies last year. Saric has yet to play an NBA game and you want to give up a decent lead guard in Knight and an all rookie player in Booker to get him?

burgessfourParticipanta nice add for the Sixers but Noel, Saric or the Lakers pick will not be involved unless Phx is adding a bit more to the deal.

NBAjunkie81Participantw/ new Sixers GM Bryan Colangelo & contrary to popular belief he’s not looking to just throw together a group of veterans in the hopes of making the playoffs next season……..
He sounded like a man who understands he’s sitting on a Gold mine……. He’s clearly taking Simmons & Okafor, Embiid & Saric are Not going anywhere…….
He talked about spreading Shooters all over the floor & allowing Simmons to dish to either wide open shooters or setting up the 2 Monsters in the low post (Okafor & Embiid)……
He also talked about the fact that the 2017 Draft is Deep & Phila will most likely have 2 Top 10 pics w/ the Lakers & Kings (swap)……. So they can acquire guards & wings there…… Or they have a Ton of $$$ to sign Free Agent guards……
He was asked if he would trade Okafor to the Hawks, Celtics or Suns for a veteran guard & he flat out laughed…… The fact is Phila is Loaded w/ 1st round picks & a Lot of Talent & they don’t Need to do anything…….

natevalParticipantSixers should move Noel for the 3rd pick and draft Dunn

bmac697ParticipantI dont think the celtics bite, I see them more wanting Okafor for the third and even that Im not sure if I’d make that trade from phillys stand point. Im a big Dunn fan, but IMO i’d wait to draft PG of the future next year when you have options of Ball, Fultz, Smith, Fox, Ntilkina all of whom I feel have more potential than Dunn plus a lot younger.

DukeDaSquadParticipantDo you guys think the Lakers and Sixers would agree to a trade that would Send Okafor to the Lakers for the second pick? I think it would be a smart decision for both teams. Philly gets Ingram and Simmons, and Lakers get a realy good, young big man. Its probably not likely because Ive heard they they would go after Whiteside and Ezeli hard this summer and im sure is bound to get one of them.
Don’t forget they have another big, Saric, coming over within the next two seasons. And I seen reports earlier that Embiid’s progress is fantastic and the team is very happy. They could even move Okafor for the 3rd pick and draft Murray/Hield to play alongside Simmons.
Maybe Im not being realistic here with these trades but the Sixers have so many options and assests going forward and could get even more.

HitsterParticipantKnight or Bledsoe would be a decent fit for Phoenix and I agree if we assume that the 76ers take Simmons then they may not need a de facto creative PG. Both teams have a lot of supplementary players and available picks so a trade could be arranged and it is across the two Conferences which always makes sense.
My query would be with both teams having a lot of picks due would either want more picks unless they thought it could be very high value.
If the 76ers do use Simmons as their main ball carrier then they would want back court guys who were lights out shooters to help spread the play.

kdtriv01ParticipantIf Simmons is Philly’s de facto PG then you need to surround him with shooters. Knight is the better shooter. Knight’s problem and low shooting %’s come when he is trying to create his own shot and shooting when the shot clock is running down. He was excellent at Kentucky coming off screens.
