im pretty big into fantasy basketball. Im in a league where there are 20 teams with 15 players per team so i try to rank 300 players how i expect they will perform next year. And there are a few guys who i am having trouble ranking and would like some opinions on how you think they will do next year:

Lance Stephenson. Should I really rely on a second rounder securing a starter spot or even consistent minutes?

Dj Augustin/Shaun Livingston. Who is gonna be the starter? Livingston is a better fantasy value if they play close to the same minutes i think, but is DJ gonna run away with that starter spot?

And how about Linas Klieza vs Reggie WIlliams vs Charlie Villanueva. Who do like from these 3?

lance stephenson – he’s probably worth a look at the last round of the draft. with the pacers claiming that he can run the point and them not going after a point guard in the offseason, i’d have to think that he’ll get some run with them.

dj/livingston – i’d take dj. livingston may provide more rebounds, but i think they’ll offset each other in assists. i think the edge goes to augustin since he can give you a couple 3s a game and shoots at a higher percentage.

klieza/williams/villanueva – i think williams is probably not going to produce like he did at the end of last season. with curry, ellis and lee; i don’t think he’ll get as much looks as he did. klieza should get some run at the 3, but i’d go with charlie. i think he’s guaranteed to get more playing time than the other two and can get you more boards. plus, he gives you the durability of being a pf/sf.

Stephenson will produce. He will score, of course and do a little bit of everything. He would be a good player to use for a bench role in your fantasy league.

Augustin will not start, i think. Larry Brown pushed for Livingston and got him, and he has never been a fan of Augustin obviously. I would definitely take Livingston.

And for the last question, I would also go with Villanueva. Kleiza will be on a team thats pretty deep in the bckcourt so I doubt he gets a ton of playing time. Williams plays under Don Nelson. And Villanueva will be playing a decent ammount of pt and also will produce.

Most of these players will be very productive late Round steals.

Watch the offseason closely to see if Indiana acquires another PG. As of right now I’d say Indiana has no problem beching Ford and Stephenson should get a handful of minutes. He should be a good pickup Fantasy wise.

If Livingston plays to his potential uder brown he would fit in with Charlottes gameplan much better, he would compliment Captain Jack, and Crash much better than Augistin do to the fact that he has many more facets to his game than just playmaking, and Augistin is just a scorer. In all thou youre taking a huge risk with Livingston and I’d put my chips on Augistin to outperform him.

Kleiza wont even be a third option as far as wings go for Toronto since they already have Weems (on a contract year) Derozan who they are expecting big things from, and also taking into consideration Bargnani should be coming into his own, Johnson will try to prove his worht and Jack will be taking on a leadership role, Klieza will be nothing more than a role player and at best will get 12 PPG at worse 7PPG.

Villanueva doesnt seem like he is fitting in well with Detroit and I see him starting to fade into his big contract as Monroe emerges and gets playing time. C.V. maybe good at the beggining of the season but he should be a good pickup, until he reaches his peak. Once Monroe starts getting playing time get rid of C.V. for as much value as you can.

Reggie Williams is playing on G-State with alot of scoring taken out of the lineup from last season. Count on a fairly good perforrmance scoring wise, with bad percentages limited steals rebounds and assists.

I gave you good advice even thou you are in my league because none of these guys are on my radar. Heres the best advice yet.

Augistin is the only player on my radar out of these 6. It is because of his rookie season when he was given the chance to perform well. I expect numbers at least as good as Feltons from him.

Now can you please not hold the draft on that Saturday and try to make it for the 2nd so I can attend?

O’Brien likes Stephenson and doesn’t like Ford. Unless they have a change of heart and move a contract (or not sign Magnum Rolle) so they can re-sign Earl Watson, Stephenson is going to be their guy. He’ll get minutes, and when a guy like that gets minutes and the ball he gets numbers. It might result in a bunch of Ls but that doesn’t matter in fantasy.

Charlotte will probably have a time split to start, but I’d rather have Augustin for fantasy. You just can’t trust Livingston’s health.

ROLL WITH KLEIZA! I think Wright is going to get the starting nod in Golden State, and while I like Villanueva I don’t see where gets more minutes or touches than last year. I’ll take the upside with Kleiza because there are numbers to be had in Toronto.

My birthday is on the 10th and I’m having a hotel booked for the 8th, 9th, and 10th and spending some time away with my girlfriend. If she see’s me on a Fantasy Draft at the hotel while we are suppose to be having intimate time I’ll be more than dead and unavailable for the rest of the year so it’s pretty urgent. My lifes at stake man!

Funny you said chump because I was going to call all those players chumps but called them guys instead :). Trash talk is invited, but at the same time none of those players can be trusted besides Klieza to give consistant numbers. Stephenson could pull a Kobe Bryant on Jim Obriens mom for all I know LOL. But seriously if Indiana trades Granger for Collison where does that leave him. Maxiell will demand his minutes, Monroe has been invested in, Wallace will scrap for minutes. Reggie Williams is overrated since he put up good numbers on a depleted team. And the whole Charlotte PG thing is up for grabs, maybe Dampier gets moved for a heavy contracted PG like Calderon who knows?

The word for most of these guys is Pending. The offseason is far from over. Toronto almost got Diaw and Barnes as well, so what if they get nother wing for the rotation?
