21yoGMParticipantPhilly drafted Embiid to play along with Noel but also for insurance. Noel who red shirted last year is essentially their lottery pick from this year. So they redshirt Embiid this year. Saric is insurance to both Embiid and Noel, in the sense that if one of them go down he can play alongside either one. If they both stay healthy he may be able to play the 3. Oh and he is also a player that will be red shirted for a year and maybe two. No to mention they got a future first rounder out of the deal. All these move were well thought out by the sixers because have taken high risk players but have insured themselves nicely with each pick.
Orlando- this pick was the mock draft killer. I’m not gonna bash this pick because they lack front court athleticism but I think there were better fits out there. Trading a future number 1 for Payton was a head a scratcher. But with that Orlando’s core is set.
Jazz- they wanted Jabari but got Exum at 5 and keep there roster together. Not bad at all.
Kings- I thought they could have used a pg, sf, or pf. They drafted a shooting gaurd.
Hornets- Vonleh is a perfect complement to big al. He’s going to be a rare stretch 4 that can defend both 4s and 5s.

MopgrassParticipantI thought Orlando did just fine. They got a PG and got some defense. The Jazz did really well without trading. I don’t know how well Exum will share PG/SG duties, but he’s a great player that fell to them along with Rodney Hood (a total steal where they got him and a position of need).
I’m interested to see how bad the 76ers are/aren’t. How much does Noel change things? I assume they’re trading Thadeus or putting him at PF because they just drafted two SF’s, one of whome will probably start.
The Vonleh pick threw me. Yes, he was the BPA, but Charlotte might end up with Josh McRoberts, Noah Vonleh, and Cody Zeller at PF. You could say they just let McRoberts go, but he was a major facilitator and reason they finally went to playoffs. Sucks to be Zeller.
