TRC1991Participant1. Tom Izzo has the best strategy every year, he just schedules a brutal schedule early on so when they start playing mediocre teams, they pummel them.
2. Michigan State will probably go like 19-14 this year and still make the tourney because of that same brutal schedule…this seems to happen every other year for the Spartans. Leads me to actually question if this team is for real or not.
3. Ohio State looks good. good point guard, good outside scorer, good inside scorer, good do-it-all guy. Wouldn’t be shocked if this team doesnt handedly beat both Duke (nov 29th) and Kansas (dec 10th)
4. Kansas didn’t look awfully impressive against Kentucky. And that could be a testament to the Wildcats being amazingly good, but at the same time Kansas has only 2 reliable options on offense (Taylor and Robinson). Their wings are pretty bad and their backup bigs just plain stink. On another note, Thomas Robinson is a manchild. His skills have come along pretty good and he’s super tough. Im officially on his bandwagon.
5. If Kentucky buys into Calipari’s system and they start playing more disciplined…wow…scary. Too athletic on the frontcourt and too many weapons on offense. Anthony Davis is insane, he’s not done growing, but right now his skill set is more along the lines of Tyson Chandler than Kevin Garnett
6. Brad Beal is legit… Andre Drummond is having a shockingly slow start to his career, same with Josiah Turner… Le’Bryan Nash needs to work on his shot selection but hes talented…michael kidd-gilchrist is an awesome utility player who does all the little things at a high level…
7. Alabama could shock people. Tony Mitchell is underrated and JaMychal Green is playing incredibly well. Randolph and Lacey are progressing too.
8. UNC is arguably the best team in the nation, but it’d be hard to argue. They have a team that looks physically like an NBA team (7’0”, 6’10”, 6’8”, 6’3”, 6’4”)… I don’t know a lot of teams that are going to be able to matchup in the post with this squad.
9. Look out for UW. They have a great combo of freshman and vets. They seem to be really buying into Romar’s system and Wrotens only getting better. Wilcox and Ross are going to score this team into the sweet 16, u heard it here first.
10. UCLA is a mess, and a lot of it has to do with Reeves Nelson being the complete opposite of a team player. If im Ben Howland, I want him off my roster.

llperezreeves nelson was the teams best player last year and they finished 2nd in the pac and advanced in the tournament and nobody ever called him out for his emotional outburts. The bruins go 0-2 to start the year (1 game reeves wasnt even in the arena) and you are ready to kick him out of the program becasue of his poor attitude? He might get on guys, but if you watched ucla this year so far you wouldnt blame him. He is also the first guy to go up to teammates and congratulate them and hype them up after good plays. He is an emotional guy and you want to boot him cause of 1 game?
and i agree about washington. Gaddy, ross, wilcox and wroten are an awesome perimter and could end up being a top 5-10 program this year.

JNixonParticipantI really, really like the athleticism, talent and coaching on Alabama’s squad. I am a big fan of Anthony Grant as a coach as well, and I like Trevor Releford, JaMychal Green and Tony Mitchell as the core of the team. I think Lacy will emerge as the 4th option scorer this year and he should improve as the season goes along. He’s physically mature for a Fr. and he already plays a pretty mature game too. Levi Randolph is a swiss army knife too who will just do what’s asked. If they can get a big man beside Green to be adequate they could be an Elite 8 team this year.

kobyzParticipantTony Mitchell of Alabama is an upcoming prospect, he’s strong, tough with improving skills, remind me Bonzi Wells.

sammybuckeye13ParticipantDrummond’s start has been slow but I wouldn’t say "shockingly slow"…we knew he had assertiveness issues and UConn doesn’t have room for him to play 30 minutes right now…
Game 1: 0 points, 4 rebounds, 1 block
Game 2: 8 points, 5 rebounds, 3 blocks
Game 3: 11 points, 14 rebounds, 4 blocks
Who cares if he didn’t really perform in his first two college games, I think 11/14/4 is about where we (even generously) expected him to be by game 3.

TRC1991Participanti thought he was going to be starting from day 1… i wasnt expecting the physical specimen known as tyler olander to be starting instead of him.

Demarcus OnealParticipantWashington looks like a very legit team, Imagine if Issiah Thomas had come back they would be scary. They have good depth on the wings with Ross and Wilcox and with the addition of Wroten and return of Gaddy have a solid backcourt. But their backcourt is not very impressive and they will struggle agaisnt teams with a strong post prescence

JNixonParticipantWashington was getting drug by St. Louis earlier. Like down by 25 at halftime drug.
