I love Embiid, loved watching how efficent he was on both ends of court, reminded us of a younger, faster Hakeem with so much potential; however, we’re in year 3 and hes only played about 30 games. For a big man to have these injuries so early in his career is not a good sign. The problem is Noel is gone and i’m sure Okafor wants out eventually so what do they do? Do you really want to roll with someone like Embiid with his injury history? Knee problems on big guys are much different than a chronic bad ankle like Steph Curry had which he has overcome. It might be a good idea to keep Okafor content for a while and try grabbing some solid pieces in this year’s draft.

It sucks to see guys with so much potential plauged by injuries so much early on in their career that they never get to reach potential. Embiid NBA career is starting to remind me of guys like Brandon Roy and Greg Oden.

yes, there are studies out there that taller players are more likely to get injured, see Kevin Durant’s recent injury, which was very much the same as Embiid’s.

Its very individual though.  The comparisons are nice, but Embiid does not have the same body type as Olajuwon.  Embiid is taller, but I think Olajuwon was more solidly built.

Anyway, even injuries are case by case.  His foot fracture was definitely strange, but his sacral injury was secondary to the dude just landing really hard on his butt.

Embiid was flying around on the court, and the 76ers failed to reel him in.  He was high on being able to play, but you can’t have a guy with that potential, being 7’2” and coming off injuries, jumping over people and into gatorade tubs.

Basketball is hard on your body.  I dunno how much hard running Embiid was doing on hardwood in Cameroon, but bones are strengthened by impact running on hardwood over time.  See why women with osteoporosis are recommended to do weight training.

He started playing only so many years ago.  I don’t think its worth panicking and saying we may never see him again and the process is in question.

I’ve said it before, the process is risky and the Sixers got lucky.  They have two potential hall of fame types due to size and skill in Simmons and Embiid.

You could easily end up the Lakers with Russell and Randle etc, or the Timberwolves with limited Wiggins and Towns isn’t wowing anybody anymore, you know why?  Because those teams don’t know how to win.

The Sixers are either beating or hanging in there with playoff teams.  They play really good system ball, while the Lakers are left still managing minutes and the Timberwolves are confused why they can’t win games, after hiring such a great (whipmaster) coach…

Sixers management to quietly begin exploring trades b/c he will not sign an extension w/ the team. He no longer feels the team has his best interests & the interests of his career in mind & he is now seeking his own medical advice through his agent & lawyer.

Unfortunately this kid will most likely never be healthy /c of how badly the Sixers messed him up the last few years.

Expect Ben Simmons to make the same demand b/c the Phila 76ers Franchise is radioactive at this point.

Adam Silver really needs to step in & force this ownership group to sell that franchise b/c this is sad. They ruined Embiid who had a real chance to be special.

I like to have fun a play dozens & jab fans of other teams & Sixers fans are almost always good sports about it. I genuinely feel terrible for you guys. I have Never seen anything like the cluster fuck that is the Sixers the last 3 months, the Sixers make the Knicks look well run

??? Where are you reaching I mean reading these rumors? Haven’t heard that at all, and I’m pretty active with sixers news. Please share your source, in becoming a little annoyed with guys like you and Robb C trying to make yourself sound good by saying you have inside info you don’t have!

Yeah that seems like a bit of a stretch to me. I mean I saw an article where he said he was upset about being told he would return 4 games earlier but ut didnt seem like a situation where he demanded a trade and informed management he wouldnt resign. Either way winning cures everything everything else is really just filler as the fand wait out the rebuild.

Sixers turned Embiid from lanky Kansas freshman who had great footwork but was raw overall, to skilled 3 point shooting muscle bound most ppg per 40 as a rookie since Wilt phenom.  They have just opened the biggest and most advanced practice facility in the league and are one of the few teams with a sports scientists on pay roll.

Unless you got a source for that nonsense you just posted, stop posting lies. He had a slight issue with how they communicated his injury to the fan base one time in his three years of beiug there and being injured. That team has stuck by him and through his injuries since day one. And has been nothing but supportive of him even after he had setbacks due to his immaturity. He loves that city, and he loves that team. He has embraced the proccess. He is not the type of person to force his way out. He wants to team up with Ben Simmons and company and make some noise. Next year is a big year for the sixers

Seem to be stuck in a constant cycle of tanking, drafting, realizing those draft picks can’t play, dumping, tanking, drafting.

The easiest thing in sports in to sell a hungry fan base what might happen in the future because it absolves you completely of the responsibility of what’s occurring in the present.

Sixers are in fine shape.  Tons of picks tons of talent going forward.  Someone check the standings and let me know how Minny did this year with all their talented picks and never tanking once. Or Orlando or Phoenix or friggin Portland teetering on a rebuild.  The process was always to acquire more picks to increase odds of hitting on a prospect and doing whatever you can to increase your odds of winning the draft lottery.  What team in the league besides OKC was able to collect talent in successive years?  How are they doing now?

Anyone remember how the Sixers got Dario and this years first round pick?  They traded Elfrid Payton and dropped down two spots. Now is Orlando’s entire season a loss if Payton isn’t good enough to get an extension or option or second contract…NO! How about Aaron Gordon? Hezonja?  Shall we got to Pheonix next with Alex Len maybe Sacramento with every pick since Boogie.

The Sixers are a fifty win team with Embiid on the court this year. That’s without Simmons or any top free agents.  Play the injury card but don’t forget to include studs like Durant who broke same bone as Simmons and now a similar injury to Embiid.

In 3 years the Sixers Went FROM Building Around A core of Jrue Holliday, Evan Turner and Thad Young to starting next season off with Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, Dario Saric and a top lotto pick likely to be a guy like Malik Monk,  Dennis Smith, or Jason Tatum.

So in recap they turned Holiday, Turner, Thad and Hawes into Monk,  Simmons, Saric, Embiid,  Okafor and Covington , Stauskas, Richaun Holmes, McConnel have all shown potential and proven to be effective role players.  And I didn’t mention Luwawu, Korkmaz, Anderson of all the other picks they have like the Lakers and Sacramentos unprotected 1st in 2019.

The 76ers look good on paper but Embiid is out for the season now – 29 games in 3 seasons hardly says much for his durability. Noel is gone, Okafor is a liability on defence, Simmons has yet to play, Saric looks a good potential complimentary starter or 6th man and the rest of the roster have cobbled together 22 wins a fair few down to Embeast.

So I’d ask how far the process has gone to seeing a settled team?

I think they just draft BPA this summer and regardless of whether Simmons is the ideal man to run the point in the future.

The injury to Simmons was bad luck but both Noel and Embeast were injured when drafted so they knew what they were getting.
