SportsNinjaParticipantThis might be a stretch but given some of the rumors out there, I think the Kings, Rockets, and Raptors are involved in discussing a 3way trade. My only assumptions, based on the rumors, are the Asik and Jimmer are involved. That’s not a ton of info, and like I said, a bit of a stretch that it will happen, but I thought it would be cool to see who could use the trade machine to put together the best proposal.
I know trade suggestions are often met with negatives, but I thought putting some boundaries on that "creativity" might help out a bit.

ProudGrandpaParticipantI mean, here’s an idea. It’s not great, but it has it’s values and moves around some key pieces that are in bad situations:
Kings receive: Rudy Gay (Raptors) and second round pick from Raptors
Raptors receive: Omer Asik (Rockets) and Marcus Thornton (Kings)
Rockets receive: Patrick Patterson and Jimmer Fredette (Kings; expiring contracts)

TheArtistPaysthePriceParticipantI really like this trade but the Rockets are giving up the best player and getting the least. If they could get a pick somehow. even a protected one, I would like it better. Everyone gets better because Asik hates playing in Houston. If the Kings finish outside the top ten or twelve, their pick goes to Cleveland, so I don’t really know if thye really want to win.

cg085hParticipantThe best player in this trade is not Asik its Rudy Gay, and the rockets should be happy to get rid of that contract Parsons contract day is coming soon

TheArtistPaysthePriceParticipantHow could a top 8 defensive center and rebounder making 8.5 on the cap this year and next not be better than a bottom 8 small forward defensively, making 17 million this year and 19 million next year? By the numbers there might not be a worse basketball player in the NBA outside of Stoudamire and Joe Johnson. Next year Gay could make 1/3 the NBA salary cap, while if he keeps playing as good as he is now at a 15 PER would be an exactly league average small forward offensively. Somehow they got rid of Bargs but I think its harder getting rid of Gay than Bargs contract. The new metric GM’s don’t believe Gay can keep up his pace now and they’re right.

SportsNinjaParticipantKings would like this except for maybe Gay’s contract. It’s a good idea given the parameters. Speaking of Thornton, has anyone seen him play lately? Looks like a different dude. His shot still isn’t falling this season, but he’s hussling on defense and passing. . .A LOT

SportsNinjaParticipantIt’s a bit of a stretch, but there have been rumors of Kings and Raptors talks and Raptors and Houston talks. Also the Kings FO is trying to change the make up of that team and the Rockets are known for liking to make deals. The Rockets want to trade Asik from the 15th-19th and the Kings have made it known they are open to dealing (although with Asik a lot of teams will be)
I admit, I’m adding parts that don’t necessarily go together, but just looking at the whole, I can see it.
It won’t let me post links but one just says Kings and Raptors denying talks of Jimmer to Raptors for Gray, this could be part of a bigger deal. Another link talks Raptors interest in Asik (coincidentally discusses Jimmer availability), and the last discusses why Rockets want to trade Asik this month. One is from hoopshype another from hoopsrumors and another from espn

theEDGEParticipantKings are looking for defensive 7 footer, if they can’t get Asik rumor has it that Aaron Gray may be the one to switch with Jimmer.
