According to serbian news papers and Hoopshype.com,Nikola Jokic is heading to Denver this summer.

2014 draft 41st pick,Jokic (20 y/o) is a very skilled big man with size and length.

I’ve only seen a few clips but that guy looks good !

Denver is in rebuilding mode, let’s see what they do this offseason.

He seemed to hold his own with Towns at the Hoops Summit last summer, and was awesome in practices.

Great passer, good shooter, can handle, and is plenty big enough to play center.

So Denver now has Nurkic, Lauvergne and Jokic as young international bigs. With Faried locked down for the next four years, do they trade someone this offseason or wait a year and decide who they want to keep?

It would be funny if they also drafted Porzingis.

However, I could certainly see Denver drafting Hezonja to continue the team’s "United Nations" theme (lead by Gallinari). Of course, that wouldn’t have even been necessary, had they not (stupidly) traded away Evan Fournier. Then the Nuggets would have just needed to find a foreign PG to, like, complete the set.

Jokic is a nice prospect. What’s Denvers plan with him? I would love to see the Celtics target a guy like him via trade. What kind of value does Jokic have?

Last year Kevin Pelton did a statistical translation of Euroleague stats and projected Jokic as one of the best prospects of the class.

     1. Clint Capela, 3.4 WARP

    2. Jusuf Nurkic, 3.3 WARP

    3. Dante Exum, 3.2 WARP

    4. Nikola Jokic, 3.1 WARP

The other three prospects appear to be on track, and interestingly, Porzingis ranked fifth last year at 1.9 projected WARP.    The only players who translate higher this year are Towns, Russell, and Porzingis a year wiser.  Translated stats can have lots of noise, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Jokic is for real.  The Nuggets should consider moving Faried,  whose lack of range hurts their spacing with Nurkic on the court.

I really like Jokic, but he’s a center not a 4. At least he couldn’t start at the 4 along side Nurkic. He’s not athletic enough. Makes me think Cauley-Stein or Porzingis would be a good fit.

Jokic is an interesting asset to have, not entirely sure how he fits in on this team, but he’s a good player who will be coming in with experience under his belt.

I’m officially obsessed with this Denver Nuggets team right now. Are they rebuilding? Who will they trade? Do they hire D’Antoni? If so, how does Nurkic fit into a D’Antoni offense? Lawson will average 20ppg 10apg at least if he takes the helm. Interesting stuff.

I like the idea of D’Antoni in the mile high. Teams not used to the thin air would be passing out playing that fast.

I am a Denver Nuggets fan at heart, and this seems to be a very intriguing prospect to have coming over this season.  However, with him being a center, we may have a logjam at the position and in the frontcourt in general.  I’m curious to see what happens with the Nuggets over the offseason.

They should make a strong pitch for Reggie Jackson this offseason if the plan is to let Ty Lawson go.

They should look to draft Mario Hezonja, and form a nice 20 year old ex Yugoslavian core.
