    1) Is it crazy to suggest the Cavaliers part ways with JJ Hickson? He showed some potential last year but this year has been a different story…He doesn’t like he has improved and he seems to me like just another big raw athlete with hops. The Cavs could probably make a deal with Indiana to get some expiring contracts

    http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=4orky3p

    2) Trey Thompkins looks like a 16-24 prospect, i dont think he’ll measure well and he cant shoot the ball from the outside even though he continues to try to…Travis Leslie seems more and more like an A.O. (athlete only) and I’m not sure if he even has a position at the next level.

    3) The Wizards, Kings, Clippers, and Warriors all have excellent building blocks but all 4 have poor benches and a lack of veteran leadership which are costing them games

    4) Denver is going to have a completely changed roster next year, I think their window of opportunity has closed. Nene, K-Mart, Billups, and Melo could very easily be on different rosters by next year.

    5) The Bulls will probably not make a move for a SG by the deadline…it doesn’t seem like paxson wants to mess with any of the team chemistry…If they could somehow end up getting Rip Hamilton or OJ Mayo, both would be nice additions to an already solid team

    6) Philadelphia’s 2nd team is arguably more talented than their first:

Lou Williams / Evan Turner / Andres Nocioni / Thaddeus Young / Marreese Speights

Jrue Holiday / Jodie Meeks / Andre Iguodala / Elton Brand / Spencer Hawes

    7) How close has Jared Sullinger come to securing the #1 pick? I would say if they go undefeated into the tournament and then he measures pretty well at the combine, that will confirm it.

    8) How much longer until Detroit axes their coach…I can only take so much more and I dont even like the Pistons, i cant imagine how the fans are holding up

Hickson is really inconsistent but stll has upside. Number 6 would be a decent argument. I cant see Sullinger being number 1 and i dont think he’ll ever have it locked. Just my opinion.

And the pistons coach has a better chance of catching bin laden than he does with being successful in Detroit lol.

For the Cavs any player who is young and has any sort of ability needs to be retained. Trading Hickson makes zero sense. Why would you trade him for an expiring? He only has 2 years left and a team option. The max you have to pay him over the next 3 years is 3 years/7.1 million. That’s just a little over 2 mil a year, that’s chump change in the NBA. If anything they should rebuild and try to trade Mo Williams. I’d also try to trade Varejao since he has some value. He can be a contributor for a playoff contender but for a team in rebuilidng like the Cavs his contract is far too massive considering how limited he is offensively.

I think there are other guys that Cavs should move before him.  I would hold on to Hickson and maybe trade the guys that ghetto mentioned

I dont know much about either

    3) The Wizards, Kings, Clippers, and Warriors all have excellent building blocks but all 4 have poor benches and a lack of veteran leadership which are costing them games

Wiz are in disarray and have no identity now that Wall has regresses to some degree, Kings I have no idea why they suck so bad unless Evans is really not close to 100 percent. Clippers peaked to late but they have a solid team, if Baron would have come in better shape they could be dark horse team to make the playoffs.  You are exactly right about the Warriors

    4) Denver is going to have a completely changed roster next year, I think their window of opportunity has closed. Nene, K-Mart, Billups, and Melo could very easily be on different rosters by next year.

    I agree

Getting Hamilton’s contract would be stupid, Mayo may be the better get but i think Bulls should wait and someone better can fall into their lap.  They should have signed T Mac because T Mac is looking real good lately

    6) Philadelphia’s 2nd team is arguably more talented than their first:

I disagree about the talent but they do seem like a lineup that plays better because of each  players strengths and weak areas.

    7) How close has Jared Sullinger come to securing the #1 pick? I would say if they go undefeated into the tournament and then he measures pretty well at the combine, that will confirm it.

I think because he is not a super athlete, he will not be a lock but if no one really makes that much noise he will be another Elton Brand type pick and hopefully he can show the same early on numbers.

    8) How much longer until Detroit axes their coach…I can only take so much more and I dont even like the Pistons, i cant imagine how the fans are holding up

No coach i know of could deal with that drama they have down there.

    Another random note/thought:

The boiling point that costed Jim O’Brien his job is how he criticized Roy Hibbert in front of the media and broke his confidence (for the second year in a row). Larry Bird felt like Hibbert had worked hard/shown a lot of improvement the last two seasons and didn’t like O’Brien’s methods to motivate him.

Bird also didn’t like how O’Brien didn’t play the younger players.
