Before I get started, let me say this: I love what the draft does to people. Every year, we have new members join around this time and everyone thinks that people want to see their mock drafts.. LoL.. Board looks like spam…

    Anyway,

    Deadly Thoughts:

    1. I am excited about this, just like every year.  I cant wait to see that 2 inches on a vert can be the difference is a few milliion dollars.. Seems very crazy to me.  Crazy=Exciting

    2. Unless there are some unexpected things going on with Beal, Barnes, or Gilchrist, I see 3 bigs going with the first 3 picks.  Davis is obviously the first player. Then I think Drummond and Robinson are both guys deserving of the number 2 pick but it is all about what the Bobcats need.  Drummond could become Alonzo Mounring and Robinson could become Amare Stoudmire.  So take your pick…

    3. I dont see the Warriors making a their 7th pick. They are going to make a push to get Iggy, because he is a perfect fit with their team.  I could see them trading Thompson and the 7th pick for Iggy and the 15th pick with fillers.. They will be active on draft day because they are trying to become a contender by getting experienced players that know how to win. They dont want to develop rookies that might become servicable players on a championship team.

    4. I cant imagine the Rockets are going to be using their draft picks to get 2 rookies.  McHale is hell bent on getting a legit big man in Houston. I think that those picks could be used, with some of their players (Scola, Martin, Lee, Buddinger, Patterson), to bring in a big that will please Kevin. They have the midset that they need to become a contender and they think the first step in that direction is a big man.

    5. The Celtics are going to have some work to do in order to put a team together between the end of this year and the start of the next. They have some draft picks and some players that have shown promise.  If they finsish off the Heat, I could see them resigning Allen and Garnett. They would be getting Jeff Green back from his heart surgery and they have 2 first round picks they could use to get a player to help them make another push at a championship.  If they play in the NBA Finals, I think they need to keep the team together, at a much cheaper price of course, and get some more players to help them stay in contention.  Another thing to watch for is them using Avery Bradly, the 21st, and the 22nd pick to try and get Austin Rivers.  Sounds a bit crazy but I would not be surprised at all.

    6. Perry Jones, Moe Harkless, and Quincy Miller will all be drafted after the lottery picks.  I think teams are going to be super cautious about drafting guys with questionable futures. All of these guys have great potiental but they are high risk players.  All could turn into All-Star players but at the same time, all could become 12th men..

    7. There are some very servicable players to be had late in the second round. Playes like Darius Johnson-Odom, Jae Crowder, Quincy Acey, and Tyshawn Taylor all have some pretty big question marks around them but all have won at high levels and all could be used by a contending team. Most of those players are stuck in between positions but have the grit and the knowledge of how to play basketball.  Winning teams want players that know how to win games.  Look for teams to pick players that have gone deep into March Madness late in the draft.

    8. It isnt going to go like you think.. It never does.  There will be a surprise.  Someone will slip. Some team will make a big reach. An international player or 2 will make a surprise in the first round. There will be a second round steal and a first round bust.  Someone is going to lose their job for drafting a bad player and someone will look like they own a crystal ball. Futures will be decided.

3-as a GSW fan living in Philly I wouldnt do that deal for nothing. So the 76ers get two needs and we get 1. the 76ers would get a 3pt shooter in Klay Thompson and a possible big with the 7th like Jared Sullinger to replace Brand if they amnesty him? Who is the SG in GS after this trade cuz Iggy aint a SG. He a SF. I didnt neg you or anything but the way I hear it, Philly would be happy with the 7th and fillers for Iggy. I do agree that the 7th possibly is moved

4- this is a good thought. Houston has alot of young pieces and really dont need more young pieces. Call me crazy but if Heat lose then Houston then I think they make good trade partners. Heat trade Bosh for young role players to surround LeBron

5-I have Austin Rivers going in the top 10. Check out my mock to see who to. I think there are 4 allstars in the sites top 14 and ARs first step, handle and crossover are sick

8-supposedly the Kings are looking at Henson or Zeller at 5 in the latest report I read

Everything I hear about Golden State is that they want Iggy to pair with Curry and Bogut.  He can play SG when the PG and SF (Wright) are fantastic shooters.. The big problem with him playing the 2 in Philly is that he cant shoot and neither can anyone else on the roster.  I would think that a filler in that trade would be Bedrins going to Philly and that is taking a bad contract from the Warriors.. Also, if they are worried about a SG, there are options at 15 like Ross, Rivers, Waiters, or DLamb.

I would imagine their roster liket his:

    PG: Curry
    SG: Iggy
    SF: Wright
    PF: Lee
    C: Bogut
    6th: Robinson
    7th: Jefferson

They would need a big but they seem to like Tyler and they play McGuire at the PF spot alot.. It was just an idea..

PS: I dont really care if ya negg me.. Its part of it.. However, I appreciate ya not doing it.. LoL

your draft is really good. I see you have Satoransky going 29th to CHI. Is that a Euro stash player cuz I can see it happening. good draft. what is your reason for Lamb at 7? Im not knocking just curious. As a GSW fan, any thoughts on mine?

Lamb was a little bit because of the potiental for that pick to be moved to Philly and part because I think that he could be a nice fit with Curry.. I know Thompson is already there but if he fell much further, it was going to look bad.

The Satoransky thing is 1 pick that I really like on my mock.. I think that they can either stash him or bring him in now.. I mean, Rose is going to be out most of the year and they need someone to help their team. I dont think he can come in and run the team but he is a PG/SG and the Bulls are going to be in need of players at both of those spots next year. OR, they could leave him for a year or 2 and bring him in after Hamilton and Korver move on.  Win/Win?

On your draft:  Our drafts are very different.. I like the team you have Rivers going to but I feel like the spot is too high.. If they were to trade back to 12-15, I think he would still be avaliable.. He is a perfect fit for the team because he can back up the 1 and the 2 and provide scoring off the bench.. I had him there for a long time but moved him when I started to hear rumors of a trade..

Im eager to see who the pistons are going to draft. And Joe shock people if he drafts a guard (!), but if he don ‘t  it”ll be interesting to see what big he pick  (hopefully Moultrie) and how he would mesh with monroe.

I think the Pistons are going to take Henson.. He looks like he is at least 6’9 (his listed height most places) or taller.  I think that if he can gain another 10-15 pounds, he will be just fine as a PF.. And his defense and rebounding will go a long way for the Pistons.
