SlickBouncePassParticipantDoes anyone remember Okafor commanding a double team 5 minutes into the league. Scoring at will against smaller forwards like Tristan Thompson, blowing them away? As a rookie?
Well if you double him, don’t you think the lane opens up for Ben Simmons, who already finds the wide open guy whether in the paint or behind the arc?
If Okafor gets guarded by a PF and and double teamed, what do you do with Embiid?
I mean if the Sixers put out Embiid (who can hit an outside shot), Okafor in the paint, and Simmons with the ball, how do you defend that?
If Simmons is your PG, on pick and rolls with Embiid, if defenses switch, thats a two-way mismatch. Simmons beats the big man every time. Embiid kills whoever guards him. Oh and then Oak is waiting there.
The NBA is about mismatches. GSW lost and it shocked me because Cleveland aside from Lebron is undersized, and set up for mismatches all over hte court. SA had so many mismatches against them, and GSW did too.
I go a little overboard in my Sixers praise, but honestly, Embiid can shoot from outside, Brett Brown has said he was the best shooter on the team. Okafor requires a double team and both guys need your biggest men out there. Tristan Thompson and Kevin love I would be really curious about how these guys defend Embiid and Okafor.
I mean that Lakers team was nice with the sharpshooting, but they had Jordan Clarkson and Julius Randle waiting…..
while we had 4 of our best players waiting to play……..
Saric, Embiid, Okafor, and Noel.
D’Angelo Russell talking about trusting the process, I’m sorry. The real process is in Philly.
We are worried we may not get your pick again this year! The Lakers will be the worst team in the NBA this year. Why? Because everyone else got better. Minnesota, Milwaukee, Orlando, NO, and now the Sixers have all passed them by.
So there is no process. Why? Because that pick is coming to us if not this year then next year. Lakers are not gonna be good, I don’t care how good Larry Nance looks. Dunking on Christian Wood uncontested is not the same as dunking on Embiid Noel and Oak.

SlickBouncePassParticipantbefore you try to solve that puzzle…
can we stop saying Embiid (IF healthy), and Saric (IF he comes).
Let’s just be patient and see what happens. Everyone already knows Embiid’s injury history and Saric questions coming over, I don’t think we need to qualify it anymore, especially since their on court presence is so close. Everyone knows.
On Croatia broadcast, Saric was put in line with Petrovic and Kukoc. Thats some nice company.
Welcome to the NBA Saric and Embiid. Stay healthy and dominate.

For_Never_EverParticipantThe Nets are likely the worst team. The Lakers got better just by Kobe retiring, and the young guys getting another year under the belt.

Memphis MadnessParticipantLooking forward to a new, emerging Lake Show.
Philly should be tough to defend if they can figure it out. Totally right, Simmons-Embiid pick and rolls/pick and pops sound great on paper. Imagine if Magic ran pick and rolls with the Twin Towers of Hakeem and Sampson. That’s the potential with Embiid and probably Noel, too. And, Okafor once they figure it out.

cozmojimParticipantYou can’t seriously compare this group to Magic, Dream, and Sampson! There’s some nice potential there, and a matchup nightmare if everything works out. But Leave Magic and dream out of it.

Hype MachineThe Bucks have a good future too.
Thon Maker looks more like KG than a 2nd rounder at this point. Add that to Parker and Freak and its a tossup between Milwaukee, Twolves and 76ers for best young talent.

NBAjunkie81ParticipantJeff Cappel put up a Video Montage of Jahlil Okafor Monstering NBA Vets as a 19 y/o Rookie on Twitter
Okafor Re-Tweeted…… Def recommend checking it out…… He’s so Damn Aggressive…… I know I get accused of favoring Okafor – & it’s true I do – but the paint is all about Strength & Testosterone and a kid this Big & Strong & Aggressive is a Talent I Want on my team…..
Read an interview w/ Rudy Gobert – 23 y/o 7’2” Defensive Beast & he raved about Okafor – saying "he’s so damn strong & aggressive & he Never backs down – I blocked him twice in a row & he just came right back at me on the next play trying to bully me under the rim……"
Phila has some real talent & they also have a Lot of 1st round picks….. they could have Two top 7 picks in the 2017 Draft…… They have a Long way to go but they have Def turned the corner….. 5 years ago Cleveland & Golden State were at the Bottom……. Milwaukee, Los Angeles, Minnesota & Philadelphia are Movin on Up

EndlessknightParticipantI know it’ll never happen but I would love to see an experimental anti-smallball lineup up of
1) Simmons
2) Saric
3) Noel
4) Embiid
5) OkaforWhat team could guard that?
Saric and Simmons both can handle the ball and pass. Noel is quick enough to guard all but the best SF.
