thetrademachineryParticipantT.Young and a second rounder for Bargnani and Shumpert.
!!I couldnt check cap spaces sorry the trade machine is updating now!!
This can be an excellent trade for 76ers, they probably can keep Bargnani cheap after contract ends, and Shumpert is still young and may reach his potential.
New York opens up cap space, creates space for Hardaway Jr. and Young can play triangle.
76ers have a go to scorer in Bargnani a shooting mentor for bigs, a project in Shumpert (at least a glue guy) and he is better than their SGs. The only thing thats bad is Bargnani is too slow for 76ers. But he can be the complementary floor strecther guy off the bench once Embiid and Noel start playing together.
Bargnani is also good fit for Orlando btw.

BubbaChuckParticipantNo offense but this is a terrible trade idea! Bargnani is actually a negative on a team. He is a horrendous defensive & offensive player. He can’t guard a brick and last year he shot 27.8% percent from 3… 27.8%!!! AND he took 2.6 shots a game. We just managed to get rid of B. Mullins. Don’t make the mistake of signing an overrated version of him.
So, we don’t need his "talent" and if what you’re looking for is a positive influence on the youngsters, Thad is the guy! There’s a reason Hinkie is reluctant to giving him away.0 - Posted on: Tue, 07/01/2014 - 11:12pm #930949

thetrademachineryParticipantcmon Bargnani is the guy for a team that wants to tank.
He gains self confidence he can be the shooter he was before. And shumpert is a good piece.

BubbaChuckParticipantShumpert is alright, but I wouldn’t trade away Thad for him. If the goal of this season is to grow, why get rid your hardest working and tenured veteran that can help teach the young talent on the team. We already saw that talent isn’t enough in this league (see Cleveland) and that you need a sense of toughness, professionalism & camaraderie. Every talented team needs high character in the locker room (see Battier for the Heat, Nick Collison for the Thunder, Luol Deng for the Bulls or the entire Spurs team!). A season of this sort of influence on the core of young talent the Sixers has is way greater then anything Shumpert or BARGNANI can give you.

IhateusernamesParticipantBargnani averaged 21ppg 3 years ago. Did he forget how to play?

BubbaChuckParticipantEven 3 years ago when he averaged 21ppg, he was a huge negative. According to basketball-reference.com he had 115 points scored on him per 100 possessions (only Sonny Weems was worse on his team). And on offense he only scored 105 points per 100 possessions (below team average… 2011 RAPTORS TEAM AVERAGE!)

Ebown5ParticipantI don’t understand why there is so much Shumpert trade talk around the Knicks. Why do Knicks fans constantly want to get rid of him?
The Knicks are a mess right now, and from an outsider’s perspective, it seems like Shumpert is a good young player. He is the type of guy that they should want to keep.
If I were a Knicks fan I’m not sure what I would want them to do. Theoretically, they should blow it up and follow the Sixers rebuilding plan, but they have traded so many future picks that they don’t even really have that as an option.
They keep trying to mortgage the future and buy a team through free agency, but they really haven’t been good consistently since Ewing left. They have no shot of drafting a franchise player because they never get bad enough or keep their picks long enough to get a chance. Other than the Nets, I don’t think that there is a single franchise in the NBA that is in worse shape right now.
The Sixers finally got off the mediocrity treadmill and are moving forward. IMO until the Knicks decide to go that route, they will just be fools gold each year.
