circumlocution75Participant& will begin 5 on 5 scrimmaging…….. Wow!
I don’t know how many people saw the pictures of Embiid working out w/ Ingram & Okafor & Noel last week
But Embiid looked like a Giant next to 3 players who are 6’9”; 6’11” & 6’11”
I must admit I’m excited to finally see what this guy can do ——- it’s hard to believe but Cleveland was foaming at the mouth over Embiid & Loved him over Wiggins
Wiggins is a Stud ——— so if Embiid can get back to form this kid could be a terror, what do you guys think?

SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantSorry to be so pessimistic but I doubt he plays more than 40 games next year.

DanielcmccartyParticipantHey look philly fans. We can trade okafor because Embid is cleared!
Or at least that’s what I’m picking up from it.

220ParticipantIf Joel Embiid’s truly 100% then why no summer league? I need an injury free season before I’m ready to make any claims regarding Embiid.

OhCanada-ParticipantI think they are holding him out of Summer League for marketing purposes but I maybe wrong.

holefillers1ParticipantThey are still going to bring him along responsibly. He is just now cleared for five on five scrimmage. Im sure the goal is to have him ready to bang by camp. He will need more than two weeks to get game shape back

220ParticipantI think that’s the reason as well, but the team declared he wouldn’t compete in summer league weeks ago. They should just say he’s cleared to scrimmage 5 on 5 rather than him being 100 since he won’t compete in summer league.

Captain LParticipantPersonally I love Embid and think he’ll be a stud, I think the 6ers are just being careful, kinda like the Jazz and Exum.

Ahkasi ClayParticipantI expect a slow start for him. It has been years since he last played. But think he will end up having a very good rookie year. (I hope he stays healthy)

HitsterParticipantHe was sound late in 2014/15 season but they held off letting him debut to reduce risk. Personally playing a few minutes in games with nothing to play for might have been good for him. Paul George returned late the same season when Pacers were pushing for 8th seeding and they could have easily sat him to increase their draft chances. But Paul played quietly and then came back to his best this season just concluded.
I’d figure with big Joel they want him to do a full pre-season and build him up from there plus they may well have a load of rookies in Summer League and want to showcase Ben Simmons.
I really hope Joel stays sound next year and plays 70 plus games. I think he will be eased in probably from the bench, he may sit some back to back games at first. I’d guess Philly will have a plan to gradually build up his playing time as the season progresses.
I’ll personally be as excited to see Joel debut in the NBA as I will Simmons or Ingram.
