ItsVictorOladipoParticipant86 celtics. Just too deep and talented. Three hall of famers in their prime at SF, PF and C. A hall of famer at PG who was a stopper defensively (Dennis Johnson). A clutch SG who could stretch the floor and average 17+ points per game once leaving the depth of boston (danny ainge). And Bill Walton and Scott Wedman coming off the bench. 67-15 in the regular season and 15-3 during the playoffs!

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantNow the Lakers were also a great team 69-13 in the reg season and 12-3 in the playoffs. And had three hall of famers of their own (Chamberlain, West and Goodrich) as well as two other scorers in Happy Hairston and Jim McMillan. However as great as Chamberlain and West played they were not quite in the primes of their career anymore. The Lakers bench wasnt as strong as the Celtics bench of ’86 and the Lakers didn’t have as many defensive stalwarts as the Celtics who boasted Johnson, Walton and Mchale.
