Dion Waiters has as much All Star potential as any other guard in the draft. I really thought Jeremy Lamb was the best fit at 4 for Cleveland but as far as talent goes Waiters was far from a reach. He might not of started but he finished games for Cuse. If you put it into perspective an imagine if Waiters played for a team that gave him 30mpg or had Waiters returned for his. JR. year ur looking at National Player of the Year type talent. Whens the last time a player only got 20 mpg but was still recognized as one of the nations most potent scorers who turns it up an extra notch in crunch time?

I don’t remember too much of Marvin Williams at UNC (who critics are comparing to Waiters to) but from what I do recall was that he didn’t attack as relentlessly as Waiters did at Syracuse. Similar situations, different styles of play.

 Man I’m pissed at Dan Gilbert. He had a chance to get two very solid players two years in a row but instead got dion waiters who he could’ve easily gotten if he traded down. Gilbert also turned down varejao and the 24th pick for the 7th pick. Cleveland could’ve had a great young core this season now they only have a good one

 The Cavs Should have drafted Drummond @ 4 and if they had 7th Harrison Barnes. But to pass on Drummond with rare ability for his height is inexcusable IMO! Kyrie and Drummond, Barnes= Big 3

He has to play off the ball, not Kyrie off him. Kyrie can get his shot off on anyone at anytime, Dion doesn’t have the shotmaking skills or silk jumper that Kyrie does. If he really wants them to make playoffs he should go watch Avery Bradley videos and how brilliant he is cutting to the basket on the weakside, however I doubt he will ever be the defender Bradley is, but he can hold his own. He also can’t fall in love with those long two’s fading back like he was shooting all in summer league. He will have growing pains but I think he could become a very solid player like a Rodney Stuckey big, strong and straight up attack you at all times kind of guard, we will see.

He learned alot from that summer league experience. Personally Im a fan of his game and Im expecting quite a bit from him this year and in the future. It will also help playing with such a heady pg like Irving.

But the Cav’s will do some strugling this year. Last year we were in the 8th seed playoff hunt in the East until after the all star break and Kyrie missed a couple games. Varajao missed a lot also. So anything is possible because the team is young and growing and a lot of guys are buying to to what B Scott is selling. Samardo and Luke Harongody were in great shape, the best of their lives in Summer League. Alonzo Gee is improving and Tristan Thompson has been at the Cav’s facilities more than anyone this off season. Miles is a okay player and Zellers looked a lot better than expected in Summer League. Irving is a given and a star in the making. We have a shot at the playoffs but we are still probably a year away from a 7th or 8th seed.

The problem is with the team built the way it is any injury, I mean any injury can make this team go from chasing .500 to having one of the worst 3 records in the entire NBA. They have the flexibility to make a big move during the season and B Scott coached up some suspect Charlotte teams to maximize there potential, so who knows. Thos eHornets teams finished at the top of the West when they should have been like 6,7,8th seeds really. Of course I hope they show a lot of promise but I am selfishly holding out for Shabazz or Zeller. Outside of those two guys or maybe Rodney Hood I don’t think we should tank. If we dont have a shot at a top 3 pick then we should be striving for the playoffs and even make a move (small one that doesnt give up future picks) to help that happen. Let’s say we were in Houstons or Minny’s shoes last year then we should make a concerted effort to make the playoffs and make a move to do it for the fans sake. At least as a show to prove they want to win now. I actually think are priority should be figuring out how to get that Detroit pick from the Bobcats. It will be a gem.

there is only one playoff spot up for grabs. I think Chicago is going to get it unless they are smart enough to tank and pull a Spurs move in getting Duncan. Thibs don’t tank. I have to much respect for Thibs ability and fieryness to think he will or even can tank. Deng may miss some games because his hand is messed up and still played in the Olympics. Orlando, Washington especially, Milwaukee, Detroit, maybe Toronto and Cleveland all have a shot if the Bulls cant do it. But to me the Bulls and Wizards have the inside track.

He was 10 pounds overweight at training camp, averaged 12 points And 3 passes in The Summer League. Yeah, he was lighting it up in college against the bench players, playing the role of a spark plug like Nate Robinson and Jason Terry. Can he defend ? Because Syracuse only runs zone. The guy is 6’4 in shoes with a 6’7 winghspan, short for a SG. I wanted the Cavs to take Jeremy Lamb or Harrison Barns, but these guys stock dropped for stupid reasons and teams will regret it.

 Dwyane Wade is only slighty short for a SG. He is 6’4.75 in shoes and with a crazy 6’11 wingspand, also a freak athlete to make up for his short comings.

Monta Ellis 6’3, is purely a scorer and will not bring anything else to the table. I actually wouldn’t want him to be a starter on my team.

Ben Gordon 6’3, other than his jumper what else does he bring to the table ? I wouldn’t want to him to be the starter on my team.

Jason Terry 6’2, yeah like I kinda mentioned before is a good bench player, he can also play as a offensive minded point.

Eric Gordon 6’3, I haven’t seen enough of him, since he has been injured a lot and only been in the league for a short time.

Jordan Crawford 6’4, is he a ALL Star player or is he just adequate ? The team would like to have him coming off the bench, but what other choices do they have. 

 Marcus Thornton 6’4, is he  a All Star player or is he just adequate ? He is best suited coming off the bench

Jodie Meeks 6’4, is he a All Star player or is he just adequate ? When a upgrade became available he became a 6th man.

@theballerway; If he were an inch taller, could play off the ball as a prototypical SG should, shoot the long ball, had a better wingspan, was in better shape and showed he could produce in extended minutes then he’d be a great pick.

Honestly, I think Cleveland really goofed their last two picks at 4th overall. Thompson is average, seems to be a dime-a-dozen athletic shot-blocker at the PF, whereas Valanciunas – a legitimate banger in the paint – was available.

Oh, they have clearly learned nothing from the Lebron debacle or from OKC’s team-building method of creating a family, because it seems like taking Harrison Barnes – a floor-stretching, team-first, prototypical SF who ISN’T ball-dominant – who also happens to be one of Irving’s best friends might have been a great way to keep the two of them in Cleveland past their first free agency. I know, Miami showed what you can do with two guys who can make game-changing plays with the ball in their hands in Wade and Lebron, but the key difference is that those two guys were able to develop their amazing abilities independently and came together after they were more or less at their peaks, instead of taking vital possessions and touches away from another young player who needs the ball so he can make mistakes and grow into a star.

They could have had Irving, Valanciunas and Barnes but decided that Irving, Thompson and Waiters was a better fit… smdh at the Cavaliers organisation.
