Joel Embiid sounds like a great topic of an ESPN 30 for 30.

Like Bill Walton, or Sam Bowie, or Greg Oden.

BUT, what if he never really even plays THAT much?

What if he plays like half a year and THAT’S IT?

Even Bowie and Oden played some games.

What if he misses the whole season, plays in the D League, then gets lost in the shuffle?

That would be a stunning turn of events for a guy who came out of nowhere and then went back.

What other guys never got out of the gate?

    Len Bias?

Is that the closest thing to a guy that never even got going?

    I think the entire 2014 NBA Draft gets a 30 for 30.

    This thing is crazy…

I’ve never seen a potential top pick flameout this close to draft night.

Not saying he won’t be picked at 3 or 4 or whatever, but this is a LOT of drama in a draft that has had a lot of ups and downs.

A foot injury on top of the back injury could really lower his ceiling.

And, if your team hasn’t worked Embiid out, then are you going to take a risk?  MOST NBA teams have at least a halfway decent center now, so the center position isn’t as weak as it used to be.
