theprophetParticipantthere are 30 teams so i ranked 30 of the best valued steals for each of the last 30 years.best valued draft steals not in top 5. not next best player or best player that is a steal but best valued steal. player must be drafted to be on the list. many good players may be snubbed and something to be considered is who was drafted ahead of that player that year. if you missed any of the top five picks and want to look over them, you may read along here: http://www.nbadraft.net/forum/30-number-ones-30 years,http://www.nbadraft.net/forum/30-number-twos-30-years, http://www.nbadraft.net/forum/30-number-threes-30-years, http://www.nbadraft.net/forum/30-number-fours-30-years,http://www.nbadraft.net/forum/30-number-fives-30-years there definitely brings debate:

BJennings91ParticipantDont forget 2009, I was picked 10th by the Bucks, definitely looking like a steal now

Lebron’s HairlineParticipantNot sure about Jae Crowder, Jeff Taylor, Draymond Green are really solid second rounders. Mark my words: 3 years from now people will be wondering how Perry Jones fell all the way to OKC. The rest of the list is gravy. Shved should get an honorable mention he wasn’t even drafted

SubZeroParticipantI agree with you, Shved was a huge steal, but he said the players had to be drafted to be mentioned on the list.
And I hope you’re right about Perry Jones lol

Lebron’s HairlineParticipantPlaying behind Kevin Durant should help him, I expect him to be a Lamar Odom/Tim Thomas type of player, but confidence I a huge key in this guys development. Last year in college games he hit a three pointer he averaged 22 points and 9 rebounds, in games he didn’t hit a three, he averaged 13 points and 7 rebounds.

M-EazyParticipantDamn never realized the Jazz got Stockton and Malone in back to back years.

phila9012Participantand they got them in the middle of the first round. it is so hard to get one star from there and they got 2 hall of famers in back to back years is incredible

Champzilla21ParticipantI think in 2008 you could switch Batum with Ibaka who was drafted 24th, Carlos Boozer in 2002 in the 2nd round was a bigger steal then Scola given how Scola didnt come over till later and past his prime. But yeah great list

tblazer_NZParticipantInstead of McGrady picked with the 9th pick Stephen Jackson was the steal of that draft at 43.

Lebron’s HairlineParticipantNeither guys were stars for other of the teams that drafted them, we let McGrady walk and he blew up in Orlando; Jackson didn’t play in the NBA until 2000

tblazer_NZParticipantWesley Matthews went undrafted but he would have been the biggest steal in that draft year.

WinterSoldierParticipantI would put Drummond at #9 the draft steal of 2012. 2008 I would also consider Ibaka who was picked right before Batum.

BlakesanityParticipantZach Randolph and David Lee. They should be above guys like Crowder, Thornton etc. imo …
0 - Posted on: Sat, 02/09/2013 - 10:57am #745964

Lebron’s HairlineParticipantDavid Lee was a first round pick

mini_marzParticipantI would say that if Gilbert arenas didn’t mess up his own career then be would have to be there… Drafted 30th in 2001

MalcolmxParticipantI like Isaiah Thomas the last pick of the 2011 draft but parsons was a steal as well. I like that Thomas is so small and expected to never do much but he does a good amount of things.

theprophetParticipanti almost put paul pierce ahead of rashard lewis and tim hardaway and shawn kemp were close against clifford robinson. this year’s rookies i just took a flyer. it was the hardest one to do.
