TRC1991Participant1) death
2) taxes
3) Roy Williams getting out coached down the stretch by Coach K, resulting in losses against inferior Duke teams

For_Never_EverParticipantI was thinking while watching does this coach not understand the big man game is working, and the other team can’t stop it. If the team went away from it why not be a coach and tell them pound the ball into the paint.

Chilbert arenasParticipantAs I’ve gotten older I’ve started to support Duke more than UNC, not for any other reason than sheer entertainment. I’m from AZ and have no dogs in the race but grew up watching this rivalry. Used to hate Duke with Reddick and Sheldon Williams when I was in high school but they’re getting more high flying atheltes these days than UNC and that includes Grayson Allen. Great game but Paige is no pro to me, neg me if you must.

akhan786ParticipantRoy had his most talented team (8 deep) in years many of which are juniors and seniors. While K beat him in Chapel Hill with 1 sophomore, 2 freshmen, 1 kid who should still be in high school right now, and their only upperclassman having 4 fouls.
Look at the minutes played in the box score and you’ll be amazed. Coach K by the time he hangs it up will be known as the GOAT.
Got to feel bad for Brice Johnson and the hell of a game he played to be ruined by a joke of a coach.
Hopefully UNC fans realize now that Roy is a mediocre coach without talent and he can’t even get that talent anymore. You should hear the perception Chapel Hill now has on the recruiting trail. 4 straight W’s for Duke and 11 out of the last 14.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantThat was a really gritty win for Duke, especially considering they basically did it with five players. Ingram was huge down the stretch and NC had no answers for him and plumlee did a remarkable job down low considering he was the only big on the floor for Duke virtually the entire game.
Let’s not get carried away though calling Roy Williams a mediocre coach. I agree that coach k got the better of him in this game and he should’ve called timeout on that last possession. However, Duke just made plays down the stretch while North Carolina didn’t which is more on the players than coach. There have been plenty of these games over the years when NC has beaten Duke teams with superior talent and Roy has gotten the better of coach k. Williams was just suffering from vertigo less than a week ago so maybe he wasn’t necessarily at the top of his game.

TarHeelRavenParticipantAs a Carolina fan (obviously), I don’t think I have ever seen a softer team than this one. Brice is an absolute monster, but besides him, who does Carolina have that is a dog? Think about the 2005 team with Felton and May, the 2009 team with Lawson and Hansbrough and even the 2012 team with Zeller, Barnes, Henson and Kendall Marshall. Those guys had swagger, and they knew they were good. I believe this is the worst shooting team Carolina has ever had. I think Carolina hit maybe one jump shot all game last night. All of their points came from Brice Johnson and putbacks from all of their bricks. With Hubert Davis as their assistant, one of the greatest shooting guards of all-time at Carolina and an elite shooter in the NBA, how is Carolina such a horrific jump shooting team? I’m almost 100 percent positive guys are hitting their shots in practice. It’s one thing to do it in an empty gym, it’s another to knock them down when it really counts. I don’t know if the Tar Heels overall lack of grit and intensity is Roy’s fault or he just dones’t have the personality on his team. Marcus Paige is a nice guy, along with Justin Jackson but neither are killers. Kennedy has been a dissappointment since coming back from his knee injury. Brice is the only guy who brings it every night. Marcus Paige has completely fallen off the map. Someone needs to put an APB out on this guy. From his sophomore year when he was one of the most clutch players in the country, to now it’s like night and day. He was 0 of 6 from 3 and he shoots below 80 percent from the line this year. I wishy I had answers for why this team isn’t tough but I don’t and neither does Roy. Props to Duke for being tough and taking it to Carolina while they were undermanned.

SpaceghostParticipantCarolina Fan as Well here.. Kennedy Meeks is a joke..Nothing effects him.. NO mean Streak No toughness ..WTF.. NOTE to ROY.. WHYYYYY do you Continue to put JOEL James in any game..HE is flat out terrible. let Staff Sgt Plumlee dribble drive and spin on him from the 3 Line. Nobody on this team will slap the shyt outta somebody for a win except BRICE. Justin Jackson..fkin creampuff.. How the hell you a 6’9 wing that wont attck the rim and dunk on somebody..anybody!! LUKE MAYE tell my why he got a scolarship..please.. i’ll wait! Marcus Paige is my guy and he did not play well but i think the problem is with Roy Willaims thinking.. Marcus paige in previous years has been the lead guard very ball dominate to make plays for him self and the team. ROY has now taken marcus off the ball with joel berry being the lead guard which means marcus may not even touch the ball on some offensive possions because Berry is making decisions. A scorer like Marcus needs to feel the ball regularly even if he does not shot it all the time. Not an excuse just my opinion. Last but not least Never thought i would say this but we miss J P Tokoto. He was tough..defensive and gritty everythink we lack.

chall23ParticipantI’ve said for years UNC is a constant disappointment. They continuously get top rated recruits and many times they fail to develop as many of us hoped. I always wondered how Jim Boeheim would do with a team full of McDonald’s All-Americans. Obviously Syracuse gets some good rated players but not at the same level UNC, I know this year has been rough for the cuse because of the suspension but I always viewed him as as a great coach who typically got a lot out of his players.
