HeelsGuy25ParticipantWho are some names to watch in 2nd round? Any sleepers or guys not yet on the radar? The second round is always wide open in mocks I think lol

Stojakovicfor3ParticipantTyshawn Taylor- I think he could be a good 7th or 8th man in the league for many years. Plays good defense, can score inside. I think he could have a Keyon Dooling type career.
Darius Miller- Another guy I think can be a good bench player. Play some tough defense maybe knock down a few threes every game.
Orlando Johnson- He could be a very good bench scorer. A guy who can create his own shot and score in a variety of ways. I can see him being a double figure scorer off of the bench.
Miles Plumlee- I think he can be a great backup PF or C. Maybe grab a few rebounds, block a shot or two. I can easily see him being a 5 point 6 rebound 1 block per game guy in say 15 minutes.

YSUFan10ParticipantMy sleepers in this year’s draft are guys that can be picked in the mid-late second round. They are Yancy Gates, Michael Eric, Dusan Cantekin, and Ryan Allen.
Dusan Cantekin is a name that most people are not familiar with. But he is a very intriguing prospect because he stands at 7’4, and has post skills, and a high Bball IQ. Cantekin could make a great pick for a team like the Spurs at #59 because 7’4 players with skills don’t come around very often, and he could be a steal.
Michael Eric is another player that most people sleep on partially because he was injured for a good chunk of his senior year at Temple, and the fact that he didn’t put up huge numbers. Eric is a 7 footer with a great motor, great rebounding ability, and hands. Eric is strong, but most important of all, he knows his role. He knows his job is to secure rebounds, block shots, and put in the misses. Eric is a great energy guy and he is disruptive on the defensive end. He recently worked out with Philadelphia, Golden State and a few other teams, but I think he could be a great fit in Philly because he can be a guy that comes in off the bench clogs the lane, and grabs boards. I think that Michael Eric can be a more athletic and agile Dsegana Diop.
I have always been a fan of Yancy Gates. Playing at Cincinnati he went up against great bigs, and held his own. He has very soft touch, decent mid range, and is very strong and tough to move, and suprisingly mobile. Yancy’s rebounding is something valuable he can bring to teams and having a versatile offensive skillset. He is a unique player, and he could be good if he keeps his weight down a tiny bit, but he just needs a team to take a chance on him.
Ryan Allen is extremely unknown in the draft world because he only played two years of D1 basketball, and they were at Milwaukee. He averaged about 9 points and 5 rebounds his senior year. But his stats don’t tell the whole story, much like his brother Tony Allen, he locks up on defense and if he does somehow make in the league could play that kind of role. Ryan Allen was recently worked out by the Memphis Grizzlies to make sure that they don’t leave any options unexplored.

HeelsGuy25ParticipantI like Yancy Gates and could see him going mid 2nd round to a team like Portland.
I have heard of Cantekin, but feel he is too raw and wont get drafted. If he does, it could be real late to a team like Minnesota or Lakers.
What are some PG names everyone is hearing in 2nd round? Who do you want your team to grab in 2nd round?

Meditated StatesParticipantHe will go do whatever the coach ask him to do at 100%. If he J improves and is way more consistent could be a good six man who gets to the foul line a lot.

YSUFan10ParticipantSome potential second round point guards I like are Tu Holloway, Terrell Stoglin, and Hank Thorns.
I like Holloway because he does it all. He is a great shooter, very good ball handler, and underrated defender. He is very clutch and always makes the big play when the game is on the line. He may be a tiny bit undersized, but he gets it done.
Terrell Stoglin is a great scorer. He breaks down the defense as well as making jumpers out to the NBA 3. In my opinion he is not a SG even though he does not distribute well. But if he gets a chance to play in the NBA a coach could get him to be more selfless and improve his body language. Bottom line is that Stoglin can score, and a team desperate for offense could draft him and have an offensive spark plug off the bench.
Hank Thorns is my greatest point guard sleeper. Nobody knows him because he played for TCU before transferring from Virginia Tech. Thorns averaged roughly 14 points for the Horned Frogs, but his best asset is getting into the paint and creating for himself or a teammate. Thorns stands at 5’9, but he is lightning quick and strong with a low center of gravity. He has very good court vision and has a knack for reading passing lanes and causing turnovers. Thorns recently worked out for Denver, and could be a good 2nd or 3rd string for Denver. I think if Denver is looking for a PG at #50 pick, then they should look at Thorns or Casper Ware.

piratejpParticipantKevin Jones for sure! Not sure why he’s not getting more love.
Middleton & Machado are other guys I think have a chance to be decent; although Middleton might slide into the 1st.
Plumlee will be a servicable bench big who rebounds & defends – always handy to have one of those around.
Agree with the Tyshawn Taylor love as well.

B-ball fanParticipantJae Crowder has the savvy and defensive skill to make the transition to playing 3 in the NBA. I think he will surprise people.
Will Barton has compared himself to Marquis Daniels, and I think that is right on. Barton would be an absolute steal in the 2nd round. A lot of posters on here like him, so I can’t call him that much of a sleeper, but he is underrated.
Cameron Moore from UAB is not mentioned much, but I think he could easily get drafted and perhaps make a team. He is a skilled big with excellent mobility. He can do a little bit of eveything on the offensive end. His making a team is dependent upon him getting stronger and developing a very consistent pick and pop jumper.
Ricardo Ratliffe is another probable late 2nd rounder who could make an impact in the league. He is an efficient inside scorer who is a jumpshot away from being an NBA ready offensive role player. He is very good at scoring off of what others create.

Rockey123ParticipantAs far as coaching goes, things are residual rank quo, at least when it comes to the way of head coach Marvin Lewis. This is Lewis’ fifth day with the Bengals. Offensive coordinator Bob Bratkowski has also remained with the team. Bengals Tickets
