topscoutParticipantCorey Fisher is da 2nd best pg in da ncaa.He has a nba body can finish @ da rim around or thru big men..he can. Penetrate on any defender due 2 his handle n herky jerk moves n he sees da floor very well..I only see Wall ahead of him..any1 agree or disagree??

darkman97ParticipantWell unlike last season when the draft was pg heavy this year is a down year on point gaurds. But Fisher is a decent point gaurd. I would throw in there Collins at Kansas, Reynolds at Villanova and Lucas at Michigan State. If they can get Bradley at Texas to learn and run the point I would put him in there also.

JNixonParticipantSherron Collins, Kalin Lucas, Devan Downey, Greivis Vazquez, John Scheyer, Demetri McCamey, Iman Shumpert, Kemba Walker, Jimmer Freddette, and Tweety Carter are 10 PG’s that are better off the top of my head right now in college.

darkman97ParticipantI’ve heard of but never seen Downey and Freddette play. Never even heard of Tweety Carter what team is he on? I also think McCamey is better being a shooting gaurd IMO. Not to high on the ACC gaurds. Vazquez or Scheyer for some reason.

JNixonParticipantFredette plays for BYU and is playing great this season.
McCamey is a beast at both scoring and passing at this level. He is playing PG this year and is in the top 10 in the nation in assists a game.
Tweety Carter is a PG for Baylor. He’s also have a breakout season and is one of the most underrated players in the nation.
Devan Downey just does everything he has to to make South Carolina competitive. He has been phenomenal in past games against Florida and Kentucky.

droppindimes247ParticipantThey said point guard there buddy don’t think evan turner will be slotted into the point next year. He is a great player but lets be honest. And about this corey fisher crap. He is the second best point on his team not the country must have been a typo haha. Come on get this big east homer out of here. No wonder that was your first post ever.

lowryfoyerayParticipantfisher is alot like lowry in the way they penetrate and finish strong. They always make sure to get the body, and do a good job of getting big men in foul trouble. I’d say he’s the best PG in the big east.

quinceyhodgeshes not even really in the disscussion. you gotta be doing work for more then just a couple of games when youre best player is out the lineup. this is the problem with some of the post all it takes is some guy to be talked about recently who is playing well and alot of people on here have them as the NEXT
0 - Posted on: Tue, 02/09/2010 - 1:05pm #254206

JNixonParticipantYea Tommy Mason-Griffin isn’t in it now…Probably next year though, but he just started playing good this weekend lol

FastAndFuriousParticipantCorey is not the best PG in the Big East, Kemba Walker is better than Fisher.

quinceyhodgesid have to say kemba and corey are the same or corey with a slight edge. hes putting up better numbers on a better team although the numbers are only slightly better which is why i say even or slightly better for corey

lowryfoyerayParticipantEveryone seems to be real high on Kemba but Uconn is struggling and that should be the true measure of a point guard. Kemba is quick and can D up, but he turns the ball over alot and doesn’t use good discretion with his shot selection. Last year, whenever they took AJ Price off the ball and put Kemba at the point Uconn struggled. Fisher has a better assist to turnover ratio, shoots better from 3’s and overall FG % and is averaging more PPG than Kemba, in 9 less minutes a game. Nova is a top 5 team and Uconn is unranked. Its not even close, Fisher is better than Walker.

quinceyhodgeslowryfoyeray..i have agree but if you use that argument while using stats then you have to do that when you compare fisher to c.wright, and when you do that its not clear who is the better pg. to be honest with you no pg in the big east really blows youre socks
0 - Posted on: Tue, 02/09/2010 - 2:27pm #254249

lowryfoyerayParticipantyeah thats a good point, i like wright too. Its a down a year for PGs, and guards in general. The lottery is gonna be all 3,4,5’s except for wall it seems like.

j1232eParticipantI watched the scouting combine last draft season, vazquez looked liked he has what pro scouts are asking of a PG. I like grevis as the second best point gaurd when is all said and done in their nba carrer

canesboy6ParticipantAs far as big east guards, I’d consider him right up there at the top, and I think his game translates pretty well. I see him bieng like a Delonte West, Jannero Pargo, Louis Williams, Monta Ellis, type of wing scorer. Nobody really watches Rutgers but he is nasty and really well rounded offensively.
As far as best player right now, I’d say Sherron Collins. I think he is a late first rounder, I think he is gonna be a great charismatic backup. I think he is a little slower, chubbier, less reliable shooting Ty Lawson. Some people think he is bettrer than Lawson, Im not among them.
2nd Best Pg prospect right now is IMO Kemba Walker, he looks like a starting PG down the road to me. He has a ways to go, but the potential is there. I think Vasquez will ball in the NBA too, once he figures out his role. He can contribute in a lot of ways, too good all around to not get drafted. My guess is he will look good in workouts with all his experience. Might be a star type in another country and prefer that, but I see him bieng similar to Ginobli but not as good. I see some Jamal Crawford in his offensive game.
The Fredette kid has caught my eye as well. Seems a bit like Steph Curry, lets see where the hype machine takes this.
might be the type who can skyrocket with a tourney run. If he can convince scouts he can run point and get a little quicker, he is a strong 6’2 who can shoot lights out from NBA 3. Could be a Derrick Fisher type, and given his skillset, and Mormon background, I dont think work ethic will be a problem. I think thats an underrated element of basketball, especially point guards. If you know off the bat that a kid works hard, I think that gives him huge points.0 - Posted on: Tue, 02/09/2010 - 2:49pm #254255
j1232eParticipantis a good gaurd, Byu has a good team Jimmer is a tough New York Gaurd that has the potential to be a danderous scorer in the nba. I don’t see him as a actual PG in the Nba more of a ben gordan type scorer. although his assist are very high on a gaurd orriented team in the cougars.

JNixonParticipantCanesboy, I got a chance to see Mike Rosario for the 1st time when Rutgers played UNC earlier in the year..He’s a very explosive scorer, super quick and athletic player. I think he can be like Lou Williams in the NBA in a few years. He needs to work on his PG skills at his size, and shot selection. Sounds like a young Lou Williams to me.
