cavsfan1118ParticipantNerlens Noel
I think Noel because with the past 3 picks they have picked players high on the analytics chart. Noel is number one on the list.

ItsRainingNegsParticipantWith the 3rd pick the Wizards pick Cody Zeller. This was a tough call between Len and Zeller, and I thought I would go with Len. Zeller is 7’0, extremely athletic, and has the chance to develop into an All-Star. Zeller will provide pick and pop ability with Wall and hoepfully lives up to the Aldridge/Bosh comparisons.

With the 9th overall pick, Minnesota selects, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope from University of Georgia (my school btw!)
Minnesota needs a wing who can shoot, Caldwell-Pope has the size for a 2-guard and is a good rebounder.

Sewok15ParticipantWith the 11th overall selection the Philadelphia Sixers select CJ McCollum. He is a combo guard who can fill the void left by Lou Williams. He can stretch the floor with shooting and score in the halfcourt which are two things the Sixers really need. They need size as well but nobody justified being picked over CJ at this point.
I have been targeting him for a while and would be pumped if the Sixers were as smart as I am and draft this guy.

Sewok15ParticipantI would love it. When I was saying there was a drop off after the top 10 it was the top 10 that we mocked minus MCW (who I am not sold on because good point guards that can’t shoot are rare), plus McCollum. CJ was top 5 on my big board and is the most NBA ready scorer in this draft. The Sixers desperately need scoring and he can play SG and backup Jrue at PG as well.
I would have went Adams if CJ wasn’t there because they need size as I stated. I just think the floor is so much higher for CJ with their ceilings being about the same. CJ comes in ready to contribute while Steven Adams is a major project. This was exactly how I wanted this mock to go down!

lisergxParticipantWith the 14th pick in the draft the Utah Jazz select Steven Adams. The Jazz may very well lose both their top players/big men Paul Millsap and Big Al. Adams has good size a good motor and a high potential if in the right situation, and with Karl Malone helping the Jazz bigs now I think it is the right pick. And I there are too many questions surrounding the point guards available, I would rather wait or sign a veteran in free agency.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantWith the 15th pick in the NBA draft, the Milwaukee Bucks select Giannis Adetokoubo
Steven Adams was just ONE pick away and I thought the Jazz would take Schroeder but oh well, we take Giannis and hope he can turn out to be an effective player. Right now, the Bucks don’t have much going for them except their bigs (assuming Jennings/Ellis are out), adding Giannis would give them a long-term SF if he pans out. He’ll solidify their front court.

But a 6-6 or 6-7 shooting guard that can shoot and create his own shot is highly intriuging. His cieling is greater than anyone else at this juncture in my opinion.

ItsRainingNegsParticipantWith the 18th pick of the first round, the Atlanta Hawks select Andre Roberson, SF, Colorado. I have looked up multiple scouting reports on this guy and they all have him ranked so low because of his lack of developing an offensive game and that’s understandable. But this kid can rebound like his life depends on it. He has good size and near elite athletic ability aside from lane quickness. He’s the perfect piece in a rotation for a championship team and I think, in time, he can start for a playoff team. Building the Hawks will take a couple of years but with these draft pieces and a high 2014 pick, they will be on a major upswing.

CynthiaParticipantWith the 20th pick in the 2013 NBA Draft the Chicago Bulls select Dennis Schroeder.
This was tough because Bulls really need an SG like Hardaway or Snell, or a backup center like Dieng. But at this point I feel Dennis Schroeder would be a huge steal and too hard to pass up.

Sewok15ParticipantI prefer Dieng over Plumlee because I think his offensive game actually translates better to the NBA. Dieng can hit the mid range jump shot which is something Plumlee is awful at. I don’t see teams going to Plumlee in the post much and he will be relegated to scoring on easy baskets such as lobs and offensive rebounds. I like Plumlees athleticism but Dieng is a better defender. Gorgui blocked 68 more shots than Plumlee in 39 less college games.

ThunderHog35ParticipantWith the 27th pick in the 2013 NBA Draft the Denver Nuggets select Tim Hardaway Jr.
Great scorer, will definitely fit a huge need.
0- Posted on: Thu, 06/27/2013 - 9:40am #807320

Sewok15ParticipantI really like that pick. They need a SG who can stretch the floor. Far too often last year they were playing Lawson and Miller together in the backcourt. Once Gallo went down they had nobody left to stretch the defense. With IGGY likely moving on SG was the way to go and Hardaway Jr. is a great fit.
0- Posted on: Thu, 06/27/2013 - 9:52am #807329

ThunderHog35ParticipantYep, I was praying Bullock would drop one more spot. Bullock’s as good of a shooter but he’s also a good wing defender. The slashing nature of Hardaway could be more useful though given their style of play.
0- Posted on: Thu, 06/27/2013 - 9:54am #807354

Sewok15ParticipantI think Bullock is a better shooter and I would have taken him over Tim as well. You put it well how they both bring different things to the table and Hardaway Jr. can create better off the dribble so he could end up being the better fit.

TomShoeParticipantTHUNDERHOG YOU SUCK.
I wanted Hardaway. Oh well.
With the 28th pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, the Spurs select Glen Rice Jr. from the D-League.
I was tempted to go with Withey right here, but think of it this way.
The entire Spurs’ system is primarily based off of Tony Parker and Manu’s penetration, which forces defenses to collapse and opens up chances for the rest of the team. Now Manu’s not getting any younger, and Rice’s versatility is why we need him in the system. It would be good to add some athleticism and penetration into the 2nd unit. Plus, he has the makings of being a very good defender, and could swap out starting with Green, depending on the situation. I also have a thing for rebounding guards. Don’t judge me.
Besides, Kawhi needs a backup. There’s nothing behind him.

Still, if he’s there on draft night, I wouldn’t hesitate taking him.

Sewok15ParticipantFranklin is another guy I am really high on. I doubt he lasts past the early 20’s myself. If the Suns added Porter and Franklin they would have to be happy. They would go from one of the worst perimeter defensive teams to one of the best with the addition of these two. That is probably the steal of the mock for me with Franklin going at 30…oddly enough it is the same in the NBADraft.net mock.

Sewok15ParticipantThe only real surprises here are obviously Roberson at 18 and the fact that nobody took Gorgui Dieng. He was the best player on the national champs and can help a team with defense and rebounding from day one.
I was looking into this and it has been since the year I was born ,1987, that a National Championship team (Indiana with Alford, Smart, and Garret all went early 2nd round) has not had a first rounder on their roster. For this to be the case obviously it would mean that Russ Smith or Chane Behanan couldn’t be picked in the first round either in the upcoming drafts. I don’t know that they will since one is a 5-11 shooting guard and the other a 6-5 power forward. Just an interesting fact that makes Louisville’s run even more impressive to me.
