Ideally I would like to see Toronto win the lottery, trade Ingram and other picks and assets for Giannis and then wait for SGA to get upset with OKC for not resigning their players and demand a trade. Realistically though Brooklyn is going to win the lottery, San Antoniom or Houston is going to move into the top 4. Thats my prediction. They need Flagg in a big American market.

If Spurs get 2 and 3 who do they take?

Would Houston take 2 and 3 for 1?

I’d like Toronto to be in top 4 to keep Oh Canada happy. Utah winning the lottery I’m okay with. Maybe Chicago gets in the top 4 and lets say Philly to give them a boost. I don’t want Houston to get a top 4 pick as it is via the Suns. But otherwise pretty neutral,

If Giannis is in play then things become interesting but any deal won’t happen before draft night I’d guess. The Pelicans could be watching closely as they have rights to swap for 26 and 27 I think.

OhCanada, even if they threw in the top overall pick, it still wasn’t equal value for Luka. The league will probably post the boring video of the actual lottery process on their youtube page shortly. I’m pretty sure it has happened before.

Cooper has potential to be better than Luka iMO.

Luka and AD as a frontcourt is very exciting.

I guess the Spurs take Harper and run him and Fox as their backcourt. They look legit now.

Philly can have a look at Ace, VJ and Tre.

NOP can add a very good player at 4.

Utah will still get a quality guy at 5.

Toronto falling to 9th could make getting Maluach or Queen an issue. They have the pick via Pacers so could possibly trade up.

I’ve got to adjust my first round mock and I do promise to get a 2nd round one up this week too.

No, I just have fully embraced my love for bad but trying teams moving up past the tank armies in the lottery. If the Sixers had to give their pick to the Thunder, it would have been perfect.

Okay I’ve calmed down a bit but I’m gonna tell you why I’m upset now.

It doesn’t upset me that Toronto ended up with the 9th pick. It doesn’t even matter where Toronto picks. The Raptors have a thorough international scouting regiment in place that rivals any North American sports franchise and has been scouting all of this years draft prospects for years and has a complete analysis on them that I highly doubt the 76ers, Nets, Pelicans etc. have. They also pick players that fit their development system so they will be fine at 9.

What upsets me is as a consumer and active audience member or participant I am being told that Dallas had a 1.8 percent chance at winning the lottery. 50 to 1 odds. And they won. And then you have all these broadcasters literally saying things like “the world works in mysterious ways” and trying to sell me on how this thing isnt rigged. And the audacity to give the Spurs the 2nd pick on top of that.

    This is #1 bullshit.

“Dallas had a 1.8 percent chance at winning the lottery. 50 to 1 odds. And they won.”

So what. Coincidences are part of life, and only seem “suspicious” because we don’t make a mental note each time nothing unexpected happens. Our brain is bad at statistics, and tends to see patterns where there are none, that’s all.

But it happens every three years. Pelicans get Zion when they trade Davis to LA. Rose to his hometown Toronto. Seattle gets KD when relocating to OKC. Suns got the 1st pick when they sold. Lebron to hometown Cleveland. Itzs just too convienient.

Cooper pretty much nailed on to be RoY if he plays full season I’d think. He will do a fair bit of ball carrying and could be 2nd top scorer behind AD on Dallas roster.

Im not gonna lie though I like the fit with Flagg in Dallas. I dont mind the Spurs getting as much assets or talent around Wemby as possible because I enjoy watching him play. So it should defenitely be entertaining.

It won’t stop the conspiracy theories as long as there are podcasts, but it at least makes the conspiracy theories more and more absurd.

Ainge will take as long as it takes to rebuild Utah, Washington are in early rebuild too. They got Sarr last year and will add a good player this year. Portland were above 0.500 for the 2nd half of the season and have some good young players. They will have cap space in due course too,

I don’t believe conspiracy theories as the likes of Chicago would have had more draft luck in recent years if that was the case. The Knicks haven’t won the draft in 40 years or is that because no-one likes their owner.
