NorrinRaddParticipantPost your mock drafts here if you like!!!
Here’s mine:
https://www.nbadraft.net/nba-mock-drafts/?uid=91514/Here’s the extended version (for now):
1 – Spurs – Victor Wembanyama – France – 19.5
The Spurs have the first pick in the draft. Wemby is pretty much widely considered on of the better prospects in NBA history. He has even been called the best prospect in sports history. Spurs have an easy decision to make with pick one. This pick is untradeable and any other pick outside of Wemby being number one can get you fired. That’s why the Spurs pick Victor Wembanyama at 1.2 – Hornets TRADE 76ers – Scoot Henderson – GLeague Ignite – 19.4
All this talke about possilby Zion Williamson, well Hornets could go for the whole enchilada here and do in this rendition by trading for the MVP himself. Joel Embiid! Embiid in this mock is traded with PJ Tucker and a 2024 second round pick. Hornets get to pair LaMelo Ball with Joel Embiid in an awesome combination. Meanwhile, 76ers just missed their window of a championship. They’re also losing James Harden in free agency. With all of this, why not start over with a nice timeline and good haul back. In return 76ers get Terry Rozier as an expensive backup, Mark Williams who showed he’s not a pushover, and an expensive 1 year rental in Gordon Hayward. He’ll basically free some cap room in due time. 76ers Also get pick numbers 39 and 41 along with a 2026 first round pick. Scoot Henderson will have high expectations as a high end number 2 pick here. He is a franchise cornerstone in his own right. 76ers do this trade because they don’t want to sit on a disgruntled star in the future with little championship hope. They can rebuild though on the fly and without Tucker’s toxic contract.3 – Blazers TRADE Pacers – Brandon Miller – Alabama – 20.6
Ok, Damian Lillard and the Blazers are in win mode now. They make a move and trade this pick of Brandon Miller, along with Anfernee Simons for Myles Turner, Chris Duarte, pick numbers 7 and 32. Brandon Miller’s a prospect who can be one of the main focal core pieces of a team. He can be an All-Star caliber player someday. What the Blazers ultimately get is a rim protector they have been lacking over the years. They also get Duarte who can be a good fit and some picks. It’s worth the haul that they’re getting for Miller. This trade also allows Myles Turner a new Scenery and the Pacers to comfortably start new.4 – Rockets TRADE Jazz – Amen Thompson – OTE – 20.4
Now that’s three out of the first four picks trades! That’s what I want to see. This time the Rockets could go for BPA, but the fit isn’t that great. They trade back here and in return get picks 9 and 16, along with a 2025 first round pick via CLE. Rockets get a good haul for a player that might struggle at first on their team. The Jazz on the other hand could be a perfect marriage for Amen Thompson. The more athletic twin will be able to develop all the upside in a great place for doing so. The Jazz can experiment where they’ll like to play him. This is an upside pick. He can do a lot on both sides of the ball.5 – Pistons – Cam Whitmore – Villanova – 19.0
Cam Whitmore and maybe a handful of others are as good enough to go in this spot. But Cam Whitmore is oozing fit here with the Pistons and is arguably the BPA. This is why the Pistons draft him here. He had a slow start of the season at Villanova due to his injury recovery process. As the season went on Whitmore just got better and better. Infact, with his trajectory it wouldn’t surprise me when it’s all said and done that he ends up being better than Brandon Miller.6 – Magic TRADE Grizzlies – Ausar Thompson – OTE – 20.4
In a major blockbuster trade, the Magic send their picks 6,11,36, and throw in first round picks in 2025 and 2027. They also trade away Wendell Carter, Jonathan Isaac, Markelle Fultz, and Bol Bol. In return Orlando gets pick #45, the rights to Ja Morant, Brandon Clarke, David Roddy, and John Konchar. Essentially the Magic are saying they like their core team as it is and are willing to push a bunch of chips in for Ja Morant. While it costs Ja Morant and some players for a nice haul and picks, the Grizzlies don’t have to deal with the headache that Ja has caused them with his gun antics. Aside the trade, the Grizzlies will need someone to replace Dillon Brooks. Ausar Thompson seems like he could be a big upgrade. He has that All-NBA defense type talent and is the twin that’s out performed his brother. He can play some 1/2/3.7 – Pacers TRADE Blazers – Jarace Walker – Houston – 19.8
This is the trade from pick 3 that the Blazers get in return. And a pairing of Myles Turner and Jarace Walker seems like an awesome froncourt defense ready to give teams fits. Jarace will be able to play that small ball 5 and plenty of 4 in lineups. Jarace Walker at this point in the draft is arguably the BPA and you could make a case he could go as high as 5. He has a versatile game to bring to the table for the Blazers.8 – Wizards – Cason Wallace – Kentucky – 19.6
Wizards at the end of the day get a guy that screams fit with or without Bradley Beal going forward. Why not pick up a guy who gets the Kentucky bump up. He started off a bit slow, but then improved through the year. By the end of the year, you can make a case that Cason Wallace is the best perimeter defender in the draft. He can play on and off ball on both ends of the floor. There’s a high demand for this player about at this stage of the draft.9 – Jazz TRADE Rockets – Anthony Black – Arkansas – 19.4
From the pick 4 trade, the Rockets get to cash in on their first pick. They take a similar player that they would have taken at 4. Anthony Black’s a little younger with as high of a floor and slightly more experience running the point. He can play 1-3 and has great defensive versatility as well. The Rockets could use his presence as a secondary ball handler as well. Often I’m sure Sengun will run the offense. He’s arguably the BPA atm and the Rockets draft for talent here.10 – Mavericks TRADE Nets – Taylor Hendricks – UCF – 19.6
The Nets trade picks 21 and 22 of this year and a 2025 first round pick via Phoenix to get this pick number 10. The Nets select Taylor Hendricks for his ability to play off ball so well and good on both ends of the floor efficiently. You can make a case Taylor Hendricks at the end of his career ends up better than Jarace Walker from this draft. They were a rival this last year and well – nobody truly won that battle imo. Hendricks will play some 4 or small ball 5.11 – Magic TRADE Grizzlies – Gradey Dick – Kansas – 19.6
From the Ja Morant trade, the Grizzlies get to select Gradey Dick. Gradey Dick has solid but not great defense. He has that excellent long range shooting though and can be that sniper the Grizzlies have been lacking on wing beside Desmond Bane. What this does is essentially allows Ausar to play more of his natural lead guard position too. Gradey Dick has good ability to get open and on a team like the Grizzlies, he could fit in many lineups.12 – Thunder – Bilal Coulibaly – France – 18.9
Thunder are the odd ones out of this draft in terms of a first round trade here. That’s ok, they select Bilal Coulibaly who has made strides this year and is one of the drafts’ highest risers in the last couple weeks. Coulibaly is not just Wemby’s former teammate. He’s got huge upside and has shown he can defend and shoot some. He’s one of the youngest prospects in the draft and already has a raw but promising game. Thunder have no glaring needs but he has as much upside as anyone else on the board. Thunder have time to develop him too.13 – Raptors TRADE Hawks TRADE Bulls – Dereck Lively – Duke – 19.4
In this three way trade, the Toronto Raptors receive the Hawks’ 15 pick and Trae Young. The Hawks receive 2024 and 2026 first round picks from the Bulls and Zach LaVine. The Bulls get Pascal Siakam and pick 13. Bulls go full court press on the frontcourt here. Not only do they pick up Siakam, but they draft Lively. They’re not obligated to go in the direction of Nikola Vukcevic anymore, as Lively will provide some rebounding and needed rim protection. He might have higher demand than any other player at this point of the draft and that’s the reason the Bulls make the trade and the pick. Raptors get to have Scottie Barnes grow into his own position and he’ll become the secondary ball handler now to Trae Young. Stay tuned, as the other part of this trade so far will be revealed at pick 15 for Toronto.14 – Pelicans – Leonard Miller – GLeague Ignite – 19.6
With rumors of Zion being traded is one thing, but then if the Pelicans keep Zion, they will still have the injury potential baggage with him. Leonard Miller improved maybe more than anybody in the draft who was a returning prospect this year. He has tremendous defense and rebounding ability already, and has room to grow on top of that. Leonard Miller could be a safe pick here. Tbh though, they could go guard here too. Don’t be surprised if that’s the case, because Keyonte George and Jordan Hawkins are just as good of fits.15 – Hawks TRADE Bulls TRADE Raptors – Keyonte George – Baylor – 19.6
This pick is from the pick 13 trade. Keyonte George was just coming into his own during the college season until he sprained his ankle. That didn’t keep him from playing, but it has people questioning his shooting! It’s not easy having a fast pace on the move shot on a sprained ankle when you’re often the focal point of the offense. Well lets say he’s been everything people hoped for since the season has been over. He’s healed and George can kind of fill a role in place of or next to FVV.16 – Jazz TRADE Rockets – Jordan Hawkins – UConn – 21.1
This pick is from the picks 4 and 9 trade. The Rockets get another wing in Jordan Hawkins. This guy is a pure shooting guard. He has some team defensive skills, but his biggest strength is that he’s the best at getting open in the draft. He has the shooting touch to back it up as well. He runs behind screens and plays off the ball most of the time. He is a prospect with a pretty high floor.17 – Lakers TRADE Pacers – GG Jackson – South Carolina – 18.5
Lakers trade back from 17 to picks 26 and 29. The Lakers could use some depth. The Pacers meanwhile have enough draft capital in this draft to move aroudn a couple times. Pacers select GG Jackson for their future swing here. He can play the 4 or small ball 5 on blow out games. He’ll rotate in the lineup with Jalen Smith and Isaiah Jackson. GG Jackson has shown some flashes this year of some good iso ball and one on one defense. He’ll learn more team concepts in the league, and is a very coachable kid to do so.18 – Heat – Noah Clowney – Alabama – 18.9
The Heat need some backcourt and frontcourt depth. They decide here with frontcourt. Noah Clowney is already a defensive beast. His challenge rate on shot is very good and percentages are low because of that. His steals and blocks (stocks) come at a nice rate. He’s also got some upside being one of the younger prospects in this class. In the war room the Heat were considering Kris Murray, Kobe Bufkin and Jalen Hood-Schifino as well. Noah Clowney’s ultimately the guy though.19 – Warriors – Trayce Jackson-Davis – Indiana – 23.3
The Warriors missed James Wiseman just a little bit but didn’t want to admit it. Not that he was the answer anyways, but now the Warriors select TJD. TJD has some good versatility. He’s an older prospect in this draft, and more proven which is what the Warriors are thinking on this one. The now factor. This guy has good athleticism and can swith really well on defense and is a viable rim protector. He can handle the ball pretty well and find the open man too. His shot can still improve, if anywhere the Warriors.20 – Rockets – Kobe Bufkin – Michigan – 19.8
The Rockets wanted a big at this pick. Since they didn’t get what they want for who’s available now, they go maybe BPA in Kobe Bufkin here. Bufkin can play a little 1 or a little 2 on the court with the Rockets. He’s a good fit for them at this juncture of the draft. Kobe Bufkin out played JHS when it mattered down the stretch. He also measured well at the combine and finished the second half of the season strong. Rockets pick him because he’s the best fit available.21 – Nets TRADE Mavericks – Brice Sensabaugh – Ohio State – 19.6
From the pick 10 trade, the Mavericks get to cash in on their picks with these back to back picks. The first pick being Brice Sensabaugh, as he’ll be able to play some 3/4 in the NBA. Mavericks pick this guy because of his efficiency. He’s shown he can hit it from anywhere on the court whether it’s short, mid or long range. He can improve his quickness perhaps if he trims down. The upside is there though and he can already get to his spots.22 – Nets TRADE Mavericks – Dariq Whitehead – Duke – 18.9
For the Mavericks second pick of their back to back first round picks, the Mavericks go on a project – albeit, with even more upside. Dariq Whitehead was thought to be really high in this draft class before his foot injury pre Duke season. By the time he got in rhythm was second half of the season. Then he started turning the corner, and unfortunately after the season had to start. Since then he’s had another foot procedure. This has got him out of top 10 consideration, however he’s still probably going somewhere in the first.23 – Blazers – Sidy Cissoko – GLeague Ignite – 19.2
This kid is an incredible defender and athlete at age 19 who has shown much versatility on the defensive end. He can legitimately guard 1-4. He’s an outstanding athlete with high upside. His offense is a work in progress still, but from the beginning of the year he handles the ball much better now and can occassionally knock down a shot. His progress should actually have this kid a little higher if it wasn’t for lack of recognition.24 – Kings – Kris Murray – Iowa – 22.8
Wasn’t this meant to be all along? The Murray’s reunite! Keegan and Kris and Domantas Sabonis could be a solid rotation in the frontcourt actually. He’s ready now. I don’t think Kris is quite Keegan, but then he’s pick 24 here. Not a bad spot to take him. I don’t think Murray would be quite worth the pick anywhere else quite yet. Maybe Miami, but I’d rather have Clowney who will be close to Murray from day 1 as a guy who’s not 19 yet. Either way, this is a perfect fit for the Kings, an already playoff team from last year.25 – Grizzlies – Jalen Hood-Schifino – Indiana – 20.0
With a seemingly new lineup for the Grizzlies, it wouldn’t hurt to get depth at PG. Even if they kept Ja, the issue with him is can he stay out of trouble. Now with Markelle Fultz and no glaring needs and a ton of future picks, Grizzlies go best fit available in JHS. JHS can play some off ball, but really he’s more comfortable with the ball in his hands. He will battle for playing time on a deep team. Markelle Fultz will be running some of that point for sure. The question is who else will now? JHS is a good candidate and might be able to play with Fultz in smaller lineups.26 – Pacers – TRADE – Lakers – Brandin Podziemski – Santa Clara – 20.3
This trade is the first of the picks the Lakers get to cash in from the pick 17 trade with Indiana. Statistically speaking, Podziemski is as good of a shooter in this class as anyone. I’d consider this kid one of the top 3 shooters in the class. The other two being Gradey Dick and Jordan Hawkins. Santa Clara isn’t very big on the map, but Podz can play. He can be a plus version of everything Austin Reaves was in the playoffs for the Lakers. Had a good combine too.27 – Hornets – Nick Smith, Jr. – Arkansas – 19.2
With alot of trading going on, especially for the change in the Hornets, they end up selecting Nick Smith, Jr. as an upside swing pick. His floor might be higher than people think too as he was never playing at 100% at Arkansas. He did prove he can score there in just flashes of what we did see. Nick Smith, Jr. will be that instant offensive role Terry Rozier played next to LaMelo. Smith can get buckets.28 – Jazz – Rayan Rupert – France – 19.1
Jazz get a steal here in Rayan Rupert. He can play 1-3 on both ends of the floor. His goofy looking shot somehow is effective, although it can still improve. Jazz have to love the length and athleticism of their new perimeter + wing prospects they have. Team France from this first round alone looks like it will be dangerous for years to come. After all, it already has been. Rupert should have something to do with that.29 – Pacers TRADE Lakers – Amari Bailey – UCLA – 19.3
Amari Bailey in case you’re from the East coast and don’t stay up past 1AM on a Saturday, improved from the beginning of the year at UCLA all year long gradually. He ended up a really good basketball player who can score, handle the ball a little and play some off ball. He shoots the ball pretty well too. Lakers know about this guy, as he’s in their own back yard. Amari Bailey has some good offensive game. His defense may have a ceiling though.30 – Clippers – James Nnaji – Nigeria – 18.9
With the final selection of the first round, the Clippers draft for need. James Nnaji is the best defensive rim protector left on the board. He can rebound pretty well too and is a very strong player, especially for his young age. James Nnaji can gradually improve his game of course, but is picked more as a specialty player to play alongside of Leonard and George. He can play that garbage man role for now.31 – Pistons – Olivier Maxence-Prosper – Marquette – 21.0
OMP is another perfect fit for the Pistons. He can carve out a role as an eventual replacement for Bojan Bogdanovic. The Pistons suddenly become a very good but youthful team on paper. OMP still has a little room to grow, he’s not quite the finished product. When he is, he’ll be a starter more likely than not on this team as the 4 spot if the team holds as is.32 – Pacers TRADE Blazers – Jett Howard – Michigan – 19.8
Blazers get to cash in on another pick from the pick 3 trade. In addition to picking Jarace Walker earlier, they go with offense in Jett Howard here. Until he learns the game of defense, however he will be coming off the bench as a spark plug scoring option. His defense might come around though, as everyone else on the team seems to play it pretty well on their roster. He’ll be backing up Shaedon Sharpe and Chris Duarte they way it’s shaking out so far. Mostly back up 3 spot.33 – Spurs – Colby Jones – Xavier – 21.1
The Spurs select Colby Jones with their pick who can play a little 1-3 in lineups. His outside shooting can improve a bit, but he does everything else. Quality defender, good passer, good handle on the ball. High IQ for the game. Spurs are a team that can improve shooting if it’s possible. I think it’s a good fit. He’ll most likely back up Tre Jones if they decide to re sign him. And meanwhile he can back up Vassell or Johnson as well in pinches if Wesley isn’t working out.34 – Hornets – Jalen Wilson – Kansas – 22.6
With the Hornets new look roster, seems like they can improve in the 4 spot. Jalen Wilson knocks down open shots, rebounds, and hustles on defense. He can play 3-5 depending on lineups in the game. He’s a little older of a prospect, but he’s ready though. He can come in and bring some effective minutes right away. We don’t know what will happen with PJ Washington at this point, so Wilson could be his replacement, or at worst strong back up.35 – Celtics – Maxwell Lewis – Pepperdine – 20.9
Once considered a lottery pick, Maxwell Lewis fell right into the Celtics lap here at pick 35. He has upside, but it’s more still a work in progress than results so far. He does put up good numbers still, and a team like the Celtics can perhaps crack that untapped potential he has. Maxwell Lewis should be more consistent. That’s the biggest concern. He has the tools and the flashes. Celtics could maybe get him to bring it all together.36 – Magic TRADE Grizzlies – Julian Phillips – Tennessee – 19.6
This is that Ja trade again. Julian Phillips goes to the Grizzlies here. This is probably a borderline GLeague pick here anyways with the depth on this team, but either way, if not Julian Phillips is truly an elite athlete they can develop along the way. He is an awesome defender and can jump out of the gym. His shooting range could improve and his handles maybe just a little bit, but he can be a steal if he pans out. Possesses great upside.37 – Thunder – Tristan Vukcevic – Serbia – 20.3
Thunder really don’t need anything anywhere. They’re a pretty deep team actually. It would be cruel to go wing here. They could either go back lead guard or some home run big. Vukcevic can learn how to guard Chet Holmgren and Jaylin Williams as a frontcourt in OKC. He’ll rotate with them and I’m sure with his range and offensive IQ will be able to play along side either of them. A sneaky steal of a pick here for the Thunder.38 – Kings – Chris Livingston – Kentucky – 19.7
The Kings get the next Kentuky bump. Chris Livingston was once considered a fringe prospect, but the reality is Kentucky produces good freshmen. Livingston was a good but not great prospect all year long, and as a freshman was pretty efficient. Kings could use another wing on their roster to help Huerter out a little. Livingston might not have he biggest upside, but he probably has a little more than people think.39 – Hornets TRADE 76ers – Julian Strawther – Gonzaga – 21.2
Another pick from that Embiid trade. 76ers play it safe with this pick and go with Julian Strawther. He’s a sharp shooter who picks his spots well on the floor. His range is sniper range. He plays pretty good team defense and has a high basketball IQ. He is not your elite athlete or anything, but can get the job done doing what every team needs the most of and that’s shooting.40 – Nuggets – Jazian Gortman – OTE – 20.2
With their lone pick of the draft, the Nuggets go ahead and pick a nice back up lead guard with some good season trajectory. He’s got some upside and athleticism. His defense is underrated and he is quick. There are scouts who say if he wasn’t on playing for the Dreamerz this year, he could possibly be in the green room this year. That’s how much recognition he’s had until now.41 – Hornets TRADE 76ers – Mouhamed Gueye – Washington State – 20.6
The 76ers get to cas in on another pick from the Embiid trade. Mouhamed Gueye is a quality rebounder and defender who brings a lot of energy to the table. His major weakness is that he doesn’t shoot well from long range. His game is still a work in progress, however it’s made some progress over the last year. He had some big games against other bigs considered in this draft. The PAC 12 was a great place to start for him, Now he can rotate in the lineup with Mark Williams in the froncourt.42 – Wizards – Seth Lundy – Penn State – 23.2
The Wizards go with a prospect who can fit in the 2 or 3 spots here for Washington. Seth Lundy can do a bit on both sides of the ball already. He’s a solid but not great shooter. He can also defend multiple positions and doesn’t need the ball in his hand. He possesses good length and isn’t a bad athlete either. He is an older prospect in this draft and more of a finished product, but there’s a lot to like.43 – Blazers – Marcus Sasser – Houston – 22.7
Blazers get another guard on their roster here. A veteran who can play a little lead guard or off guard. He has incredible defensive tenacity. He can come right in and back up Lillard right away. He would also be paired up with his former Houston teammate in Jarace Walker again. Marcus Sasser is one of the safest picks a GM can have on their team this year. He’ll probably be asked to play the 2 spot as much as the 1.44 – Spurs – Andre Jackson, Jr. – UConn – 21.6
Spurs get another versatile player. Andre Jackson, Jr. will be able to be plugged in from about anywhere. He can play 1-4 in the league. His biggest weakness is that being an older prospect, he can’t shoot. At least not yet. He plays great defense and is a monster athlete with handles though, and can defensively at least fill many voids. Time will tell how he gels on the Spurs, but this team looks pretty built well. Andre Jackson, Jr. will be a great glue guy.45 – Grizzlies TRADE Magic – Jordan Walsh – Arkansas – 19.3
Orlando gets there pick from the Ja trade. The Magic pick Jordan Walsh. This kid has some good attitude and energy he brings to the court. Orlando can use some of his locker room presence and energy on the court. Jordan Walsh might be the Charlie Hustle of this draft. He makes life hard for his opponents. If he develops a shot, he will even have a chance to start someday.46 – Hawks – Ricky Council IV – Arkansas – 21.9
The Hawks use their second round pick on Ricky Council IV. He like newly aquired Zach LaVine can play 1-3. But Ricky Council might even be a better defender. No he’s not LaVine, but he’s solid in his own right and can be used in multiple lineups. Council played off ball in the beginning of the season. Then when he played more on ball his percentages went a bit down. Teams were keying in on him. He’s a very solid athlete and a good defender too. His shot is the biggest question mark, and it’s not exactly broke.47 – Lakers – Emoni Bates – Eastern Michigan – 19.4
Say what you want about Emoni Bates, but this just seems like a perfect marriage. Emoni Bates can shoot from long range really well. He can also create his own shot and separation from his opponents. With maybe a few bad decisions in his college career, Emoni can still become a good player. Maybe he’s not Kevin Durant’s second coming. You don’t have to be at pick 47. Bates will have to stay on the court and not be a knucklehead. That will be his biggest challenge in this scenario.48 – Clippers – Isaiah Wong – Miami(FL) – 22.4
With many wings on the squad and the Clippers selecting a rim protector earlier, they go lead guard here. Isaiah Wong could be a very good backup lead guard. He might actually get some quality minutes here if Westbrook just doesn’t end up meshing well. Isaiah Wong will have to learn to pass the ball a little better as a lead guard, but getting buckets is already there and he can shoot pretty well too.49 – Cavs – Ben Sheppard – Belmont – 21.9
Ben Sheppard for most the year was considered a fringe prospect. Good thing he showed some flashes of what he can do after the season’s end. He performed well and showed teams why he belongs in the league. He plays a bit of defense and knocks down shots. Ben Sheppard is a perfect complimentary player for the Cavs at wing. He could probably fit better than Okoro did.50 – Thunder – Terquavion Smith – NC State – 20.5
Remember when Terquavion Smith entered the draft last year? And then pulled out in hopes of being a lottery pick? Well, that didn’t quite happen. In fact, he went down in stock, but is in the draft nonetheless. He has some good off the dribble shooting and some solid perimeter defense. That’s about what he does though. He needs to add strength and be that better off ball shooter he was last year to make it on this loaded team.51 – Nets – Sir’Jabari Rice – Texas – 24.5
Nets get a combo guard, and one with some experience here in Rice. He really does have the best pump fake in the league already and hasn’t played a game in the NBA yet. He also has a high IQ for the game and sets the tempo. He had a good tournament run and also killed it at the PIT. Rice might be a bit low here – not the highest rated prospect coming out, but he’s one of the better basketball players now.52 – Suns – Mojave King – GLeague Ignite – 21.0
Suns draft Mojave King and it’s kind of an easy decision. Currently not even a top 60 prospect, this kid basically didn’t get recognition playing for the Ignite, despite playing well and doing well at the combine. His elite athleticism and positional fit make so much sense for the Suns. King has great hops and can play that iso game at times. His shot is coming around too.53 – T’Wolves – Toumani Camara – Dayton – 23.1
The T’Wolves select a 4 at this point of the draft with their lone pick. Wolves hope to have Jaden McDaniels back, but that isn’t a guarantee. Toumani Camara might have been Dayton’s best player last year. Maybe not best prospect, although DaRon Holmes did go back to school anyways, but Camara is a rugged defender and solid rebounder too. He could bring some good hustle energy to Minnesota.54 – Kings – Mike Miles – TCU – 20.8
The Kings need a true backup lead guard. Davion Mitchell can do that in smaller spurts, but he’s more of an undersized 2. Mike Miles here can play that backup role right away for the Kings. He lacks tools and all that glamouros athleticism some other prospects have, but what he can do is bring his high IQ on the court and run the show in small spurts as well. He can run the pick and roll really well.55 – Pacers – Jordan Miller – Miami(FL) – 23.4
The Pacers pick up Jordan Miller here to add wing depth. Buddy Hield won’t be there forever. Jordan Miller doesn’t do anything in particular great. That’s his issue beside being 23. He is a bit of a jack of all traits master of none type player. There are some people who believe it was Jordan Miller who was the top player at Miami, and not Isaiah Wong. I can see the case for both.56 – Grizzlies – Jaime Jaquez, Jr. – UCLA – 22.3
The Grizzlies pick up Jaime Jaquez, as he to is a jack of all traits master of none type player. He can shoot the ball, but isn’t a great shooter. His basketball IQ will be more likely what saves Jaquez if he lasts. Not sure he will stick, but he seems to always make the right decision on the court. He’s not going to wow you as an athlete, it’s all about his IQ.57 – Wizards – Jalen Slawson – Furman – 23.7
Wizards need help on defense, especially in the frontcourt right now. That’s what the Wizards do with this pick – address that need. Jalen Slawson can defend some on the wing, but forwards and small ball bigs he sticks to like glue. He can also bring the ball up court on occasion. His shooting touch can improve some, although it might not be broke. This is a good fit pick.58 – Bucks – Kobe Brown – Mizzou – 23.5
I know he’s big, but I don’t think he’ll turn out like Caleb Swanigan. Kobe Brown has some work ethic to him. He can also hit a jumper from outside and is a good decision maker. He’s quicker on his feet than he looks, although he’s still slow compared to some attackers he’ll have to try to fend off on defense. Kobe Brown has good strength and good basketball IQ. He should fit on the Bucks in case they lose Portis.1+ - Posted on: Tue, 06/13/2023 - 10:23pm #1260584

ZouldiersParticipantVery solid mock as always. As a Heat fan though, I hate the idea of drafting a raw big man in Noah Clowney when we still have Jovic in development hence why I prefer Kris Murray instead. Plus the last time they drafted a raw big man, he was unplayable and was traded for Kyle Lowry. I don’t want another Precious Achiuwa situation with Clowney and knowing Spo, he would play Clowney at the 5 instead of the 4.

HitsterParticipantSome good trade ideas and if some of them go down on draft night it will be a fun evening. The return for Ja looks higher than that for Embeast but I do hope some trades happen. In some ways Dame could be the player it revolves around if he stays or goes could have a domino affect. Also whoever out of Scoot or Brandon Miller falls to 3 whether anyone looks to trade up for them or not.
I’m not going to nit pick about someone being a few places higher than I might have him on such a thoughtful and original mock. Only disappointment is there is no room for Sloth Stevens who I promise will feature in mine even if he is 60th pick.

OhCanada-ParticipantI really like your draft order from 1 to 12. It makes alot of sense even without the trades, For me I keep debating on the Magic at #6 whether they go with Ausur Thompson or Hendricks/Walker. Then I’m also wondering where Anthony Black is gonna go and feel like he may fall a bit in this draft similar to Haliburton when he fell to thwe Pacers. I think Washington picks Wallace.
Defenitely a hard mock to draft but yours looks great. Not a big fan of the trades though.

HitsterParticipantI don’t see the Magic taking another big given their frontcourt depth Oh Canada but I always respect your knowledge and views.
We often do just straight drafts so one with some trades in is always different.
