Looking down the top few tiers which I’m more familiar with the players the list looks solid as always.. The one name that jumps out is Emoni Bates who you have going in the top 5 but this site lists at 52 on theor current draft list. To get a neutral idea of Bates’ draft stock I looked at Jon athan Givony’s mock and saw Bates was off it due to his recent arrest. Bates is clearly very talented but there have been personal issues yet I tend to look on the positive side of his game like Norrin Radd has done.

With todays NBA a long swingman like Bates with his elite shooting potential will get a lot of interest if he stays on the right side of things. He may not be a go to star player but as a 3rd option or teams needing shooters he’d be a great fit helping to spread the play and drawing defenders away from other players who may then get a shooting opportunity..

I’d personally place Bates in tier 5 or 6 but my view of him is near where Norrin places him than the sites last mock.

Hey, thanks for the feedback! I think Emoni Bates will be a remix of what Andrew Wiggins is. He’s a younger sophomore and that Michigan game wasn’t a fluke when he outperformed Jett Howard. NBADraft.net, Tankathon, NBA Draft Room, NBA Big Boards, Hoop Intellect, Prospect Insight to name a few I would hold as much as Givony’s mock. His version does not update all the time. And as much as I like Givony, Barlowe is the newer remix version of Givony. Imo just as good. Then you have Rookie Scale which gives a good insight of how scouts rank the prospects on a consensus basis. I myself go by watching games, highlights and youtube videos. According to the consensus of everyone I pay attention to Emoni is being slept on imo. I think the same thing of RayJ Dennis. Not sure if he’s for real or not, but I’ve seen him a few times and he has delivered. Outplayed Eric Gaines in a win and impressed. Not sure if I’d even tweak this, but I thought of flipping Anthony Black for Jarace Walker. It’s tough this early. Ok, guess I just wanted to tell you why I ranked certain players how I did…

Givony just dropped his latest mock today. Bates is at 45. RayJ Dennis not mentioned as usual. Interesting mock put out though.

Interesting to see Givony’s new mock, I always look out for his given he spent so long on Draft Express and I used to follow him there. Good to see Bates’ stock beginning to rise again too. Jordan Walsh’s reputed wingspan and athletic ability also looks very interesting, seeing him compared to Richard Jefferson and Iggy two great complimentary starters/3rd star on a team players means he could be a guy teams looking to complete a rebuild target in later lottery.

I still follow Draft Express on YouTube. Especially when combine and personal workouts are being shown.

To me this draft is still too early to really evaluate as it’s Wemby, Scoot, and then a crapshoot after that with a ton of guys that could be lottery to late 1st rounders depending on how season unfolds.
