I had gotten some requests for an updated Mock Draft, so that is what we did this week on Viseland. We have a slight reorder among the top 5, a few new names in the lottery and will be going over 15-30 next week. We discuss how these players seasons ended or are still going, plus give a general breakdown on what they bring to a team. Definitely will be subject to change as the process keeps going. Still hope we give you some good information and at least an idea of where these players could be in terms of draft stock.

Definitely were some tough names to leave out and I am sure will cover them in the next weeks episode. I am not sure the top 5 is set in stone, though it at least appears to be close to that. However, who is everyones favorite to go 6, 7, or 8? Think you will notice that most of them had rather rough ends to the NCAA Tournament.

Hope you enjoy, would really appreciate any new subscribers, likes, comments, they all really help us potentially get to the eyes of more basketball fans. Also feel free to talk about the NCAA Tournament or any draft questions in this thread. Lets have some fun here, I am down to answer questions or give it my best shot! Hoping people still have teams alive on their bracket, I know my hoping for a Gonzaga-Baylor final really has helped matters thus far! Thank you to anyone who has supported, really appreciate it!

I guess this is my lottery mock 1.0
My first 5 are in the same order you guys got…
    My favorites for 6-8:
    6 – Scottie Barnes
    7 – Moses Moody
    8 – Jalen Johnson
    ——————————-
bonus – rest of my lottery based on your lottery order:
    9 – Keon Johnson
    10 – Kai Jones
    11 – Franz Wagner
    12 – Isaiah Jackson
    13 – Tre Mann
    14 – James Bouknight

    Loved the Viseland today!

First of all, NorrinRadd, you have been very supportive and appreciate you. Has not at all gone unnoticed, thank you!

As far as your board goes, I like it. I almost had Mann at 14, plus Bouknight still up there. I know Isaiah Jackson has been getting a push lately also, thinking he is very likely to be in the mid-first range or so. Of course with this one tried to think about it from a NBA perspective as a “Mock Draft” as opposed to a “Big Board”.

I think you well know my opinion on Scottie Barnes, as would anyone who has ever read my work or listened to me. Would be incredibly wild if 3 Montverde guys went top 7 and is not outside of the realm of probability. Kind of wild how many of these guys had unceremonious ends to their season, though I think the NCAA Tournament boost is closer to a myth than gospel.

Thank you once again for the comment, looking forward to doing the rest of the 1st round next week! Guesting on another NBA Draft podcast that should be out tomorrow, check my Twitter at NBADraftMikeyV or follow Viseland to check that out!

I definitely agree that the draft starts at #6. To me Jalen Johnson and Scottie Barnes are those 6th and 7th prospects and after them I’ll go as far to say I don’t even trust this years projected late lottery picks. I’m gonna be really upset if Toronto misses the play ins but also fails to get a top 6 pick.

Wagner has an intriguing skillset but it seems to be incomplete and unpolished. Moody seems like he will be a good to average scorer at the next level but has no stand out second skill and has come up short in big games. Keon Johnson’s raw, Kai Jones is raw, Ziare Williams is raw. Theres really no clearcut “that guys gonna be good” player in that 8-15 range like last years draft.

And I agree with your bro on Jalen Johnson. Duke was going nowhere and Coach K was benching Johnson. Coach K was trying to give him some oldschool ‘earn your minutes through playing the right way’ coaching and Johnson wasn’t having it and said listen I’ve gotta get outta here so this guy doesn’t ruin my draft stock and my career. I’m happy he made the right decision.

While looking at the prospect pool, I was caught off guard by the name David Duke… I would have thought an African American player might go by a different name or change it up it up a bit (Dave? DJ?) when you have the same name as the most well known leader in KKK history. Just my take..

i paused when i saw david duke’s name 2 years ago.

but recently someone asked him about that ,his response was if micheal b. jordan can become 1 of the highest paid actors in hollywood sharing the same name as the greatest sports star of all time..he can make the name david duke bigger than the klan member…

Who names their kid David Duke? 🤣 But good on him to have a positive response to the question and a true winners mentality. I hope the best for him.
