Would be surprised if Frank Jackson went that much ahead of Nkilitina or Fox. 3 good PG prospects but Jackson may be 4th or 5th option on his own team…

Also, as a UT fan and being from Austin I don’t see Jarrett Allen as a 1 and done player. Most mocks have him first round or late lottery. I think him being so thin will cause a slow start. I believe he’s a 2-3 year guy, who could leave after 1 but will improve his draft stock.

I played against his brother out of high school in Austin, and he was 7’0 as well. Offered from Kansas State and Memphis among other schools of varying size and he opted to not even play college ball. Shocking move, but it’s part of the reason I think with that family what you are thinking they will do may not be what happens (Jarrett Allen 1 and done).

Luka Doncic is ineligible, aswell as Isaac Bonga, both were born in 1999, therefore the earliest year they can be drafted is 2018

Its pretty crazy we could see 5 guys from Duke drafted in the first round in this draft…Giles, Tatum, Jackson, Bolden, Allen, and guys like Jefferson and Kennard could have an outside shot.

Ivan Rabb will be an interesting person to see where he ends up. The chances were that if he had declared this year he’d have gone somewhere in the lottery ( 7 guys out of 9 between 8 and 16 in this year’s drafts were frontcourters). So he probably gave up a fairly decent draft position to refine his game for another year in college.

After Harry Giles, he is probably the next genuine big on most mocks and if he proves he is NBA ready has a great chance to go inside the top 10 especially if teams are looking for a big. I’ll be interested to see how he measures up against freshman bigs like Allen at Texas, Bam ( love that name) Adebayo at UK etc. Plus next year’s possible wildcard Frenchman Jonathan Jeanne who is currently 27 on Aran’s mock but could be a Thom Maker type riser if some GM falls in love with his wingspan.

there are a few people in the 2017 2nd round on NBADraft’s mock. These are players I really like too. I know there is still plenty of time for players to move up and down but I really like…

Thomas Bryant- Cliff Alexander with no basketball IQ was once a top 5 pick (long ago). Thomas Bryant brings everything Cliff did, but has a much better basketball IQ. He’s going to be a top performer at the college level and is still young (especially by big man standards) to have loads of potential.

OG Anunoby- I swear this isn’t an Indiana/Big Ten love fest post. But he seems poised to breakout this year. It looks like NBADraft is hedging their bet on this guy by putting him in the mock, but only in the 2nd round.

Luke Kornett- 7 footer who can shoot has to fit into today’s NBA. He averaged 7 rebs and I wonder how many he can get with his frontcourt partner now in the NBA. Averaged 3 blocks a game. Can he be Jeff Withey with a better jumpshot?

EC Matthews- once a potential lottery pick. Has fallen to the 2nd round. I only know the barest things about him, but mid major guards can make it in the NBA.

Bennie Boatwright- Technically a first rounder in the mock at pick 29. I only saw two of his games last year and I already love this guy. I think 29th is too low for him.

Ill give you guys a fun stat… No player from the Pac 10/12 was ever selected first overall.. I dont see Fultz breaking that trend

Bill Walton and Kareem were 1st overall.. Outside of that no guards have ever been taken 1st overall from pac 12

Bigs rise. It’s just how the draft shakes out.  Frank Jackson is a slightly better version of Melo Trimble.  He may stay. Fox is super raw offensively.  Monk is an undersized 2 who can jump and shoot a little bit bit thats it.  Lonzo Ball is the next MCW.  I wouldnt be surprised if a third to half of these freshman are exposed like Malik Newman was like josh selby was.  Bet on the bigs at the top.

At least early on I thought Josh Jackson is the #1 pick until we see someone else really turn it up. Jackson looks explosive! I love his game other than that ugly shot lol.

@JM40 what is your reasoning for Jackson at #3? I know Giles game is really great so I get him. Fultz is great too. Why do you like him more than Jackson?
