HitsterParticipantWhilst just posting about Mike Conley at Memphis and the very nice deal he got last summer, it reminded me that players such as Kyle Lowry who could be reasonably be considered to be at the same level or better than Mike will be an FA next summer.
Kyle is 30 now so this could be his last big deal and probably being underpaid now for his output could well be looking for a max deal which would put him near to or above DeRozan as Raptors highest paid guy.
We know GSW have KD and Steph Curry MVP to try to appease. But Clippers have Griffin and CP3 both with player options they are likely to want to decline and seek a better deal via FA. Griffin must be considered near his prime and will probably want a max deal. Whilst CP3 will be 32 soon, he is still playing as well as he has done and probably better than for a number of years. He will have seen guys last summer getting big money deals taking them well past he age he’ll be next summer so could be looking for a very big deal especially if he takes a slightly shorter one due to his age and miles on the clock.
Serge Ibaka at the Magic will have seen other bigs with probably lesser skillsets getting major deals last summer and will likely be looking for something at that level or better.
One other guy in contract year who was going great guns until he got injured was George Hill whose $8 million salary was looking a nice bargain for Utah. I’m sure George would be looking to double that next year if he could.
Another canny guy is Paul Millsap who has used shorter deals to get nice pay days and give him extra shots at these deals. Paul turns 32 very soon and has a $21.47 player option for next year which we may think logically he takes up. But when he can see former Hawks running mate Al Horford will get $112 million over the next 4 seasons and the last two of these seasons will be when Horford will be oldeer than Millsap will be next summer. I could see Millsap looking to position himself to get a two or possibly three year deal at $26 million starting point or netting a fully guaranteed $75 million 3 year deal.

r377ParticipantWith 3 point shooting at a premium I can see some team easily overpaying for JJ Reddick.
with Reddick, cp3 and griffin I highly doubt the Clippers will be able to keep all three.
Rudy Gay and the Kings will have to part ways. Not sure how much value he has since the Grizzlies and Raps progressed more in the playoffs without him

Andv1 WaitingParticipantNone of this will happen but imagine how funny if the following happened.
Steph Curry bolts on GSW due to them taking to long get his deal done for somewhere people didn’t see coming New York. The team that wanted to draft him lol.
Kevin Durant goes back to OKC once he gets his ring or if they fall short as he was a double agent wanting them to lose Harrison Barnes,Bogut for nothing. All because of the Steven Adams nut kick by Draymond..K.D yells I got your back Stevvvvvvve while poking his tongue out like draymond does when he is trying to mock players while running down the court..
CP3 is like yolo Clippers I am off to Chicago to play with his boy D-wade and Jimmy Buckets..Following Season Carmello asks for a trade or Signs as a F.A when eligible and Finally Lebron joins to play a small ball Center and team Banna boat rides(The video of them ridding a banna boat joke) off into the sunset like the always wanted to lol
Blake Griffin is like Screw you D.J we boys but… Doc your a hopless GM I’m off to the Lakers
J.J reddick is like I am taking my talents to…OKC to replace Antony morrow especially with K.D coming back lol.
Serge Ibaka holds a press conference and says in a decision type affair: Today I will be taking my talent to…The Sacramento Kings with the camera cutting to Boogie loosing his sh*t as the Kings have finally made a move he has asked for lol
Paul Millsap- Says later Atlanta I am off to Miami to get paid and enjoy some sun…Because we all know riley will want a big name F.A. to make it seem like he is still in the mix/Can pull F.A’s..
George hill(Aka Georgie) goes back to the spurs to make the Kawhi leonard trade come full circle and Pop says to Georgie I will never let you go again while reading him a bed time story while on the road…
Kyle lowry is like Demar we are bros so I will pull that Mike Conoly on us and ruin our cap for years to come…
But on a serious note: Most of the players will probably just reup with the team they are with making for a predictable/boring offseason and only mid tier F.A’s moving like your Rudy Gays or Danillo Gallinari and the odd RFA being allowed to leave…

HitsterParticipantSome very good and very amusing points Andy1
The idea of KD going all in this year to get a ring and then being able to have a choice of where he goes as an FA without the issue of needing a title could happen. Going back to OKC would be fun with Westbrook, Adams and Oladipo on high deals next year I don’t think there will be cap room.
Millsap to Miami looks a great call if we assume Bosh has no way back there. Millsap is proven which Riley and Spol will love, his hustle and shooting range work nicely alongside Whiteside. Millsap gets nice weather and a tax friendly pay day, he can always go all in for a title when that deal is over as any contender would love him as a veteran presence.

Andv1 WaitingParticipantCheers for the feed back: Hitster.
He probably won’t come back but if he did want the option
The only way I see it happening:
K.D coming back way it could possibly work if he did want to: Poison pill contract: He could take a back loaded contract if he did want that option to come back, really cheap at the front with big time raises as the contract goes on.. My guess is he would want Russ to be locked up longterm though..
If we(OKC) kept our depth without giving up anything + add K.D back, with both Russ and K.D knowing how to play better team ball(Rather than hero ball all the time). We would legitimately be a contender for it all..
