trelos6ParticipantI was looking at the 2016 recruiting class, and Duke seems to be killing it.
They’ve got commitments from Giles and Tatum, the #1 and #2 prospects in the country, and also Jackson who’s #14, and DeLaurier at #44.
There’s still a few people who have not yet committed.
#3 Jackson, #5 Monk, #6 Adebayo, #7 Fox to name the ones in the top 10.
Kentucky, a recent powerhouse in the recruitment business, has it’s highest recruit at #23 with Gabriel.
Looks like Coach K has one upped Calipari

he_gets_bucketsParticipantJust a question, will Giles maintain his number 1 status following his injury? Or will he get dropped down a few slots?

SkalAndJamalParticipantThis might end up being the best recruiting class Duke ever got. Frank is Nolan Smith 2.0, and if Giles can comeback at 100%, he seriously can one special basketball player. Not a huge fan of Tatum but he can be a top 5 pick.
I wouldnt write off Calipari just yet. UK is in the lead for Fox and at worst who cares, Ulis would probably be staying then. Then if UK can land two of Alkins, Jackson, or Monk then that is still a lethal class.

JordanC20ParticipantUK isn’t done Fox is going to announce on the 12th with them as the high favorite also I think they’ll grab Malik Monk because he’s down to UK and Arkansas and he’s good friends with Archie Goodwin so he might persuade him that they’re the right choice (also a big fan of his so would love to see him on the team).

Rip256UK has the best recruiting department in the NCAA. You think they don’t have a few aces up their sleeves?
Like how they had Humphries locked down before other colleges even got a chance to talk to him. Their recruitment is global….most of the other big colleges have their lasers locked on US targets.
First chance the media gets to check out his game….they’re calling him the #1 pick of 2017 (ESPN’s Jay Williams).

ncballerBam to NCSU was set in stone a few months ago, but not so set in stone anymore. Look out for Auburn in this one. That being said, it won’t be a shocker if he does end up at NCSU. His recruitment is really strange.
As a UNC fan, not really holding my breath for Woods announcing tomorrow (I think he is SC bound), but I have been hearing some positive developments with Udoka Azuibuke and Rawle Alkins.

airenn34ParticipantWhat are you hearing ncballer about Azuibuke and Alkins? Man I’d be over the moon if those 2 joined the Heels. Bradley and Azuibuke together are you kidding me? I’d love Alkins in Carolina blue but something about the way he plays just doesnt really fit with Roys system. Are we out for Woods? I think Kentucky will be just fine. I think they will get Fox and Monk. I think they are still in play for Kobi Simmons as well. Duke and Kentucky are 1a 1b what have you. I really dont get Giles decision to go to Duke? I mean Im sure playing for a HOF coach and your best friend and representing a powerhouse was a no brainer but I just dont see how you get to showcase your full talent with that loaded team. How do you do that with Chase Jeter there, DeLaurier. Frank Jackson is on board but you got Thornton handling the rock. Luke Kennard is there whose all time points leader hs Ohio. Graysol Allen, Jason Tatum wanting some shine. What if Brandon Ingram isn’t one and done? Man Coach K has a nice headache juggling that team.

ncballerAzuibuke was a HEAVY FSU lean before his OV to UNC. In fact I had heard he was planning on committing there within a week or so after his visit to UNC. Bradley and Robinson are really tight with him, and both are recruiting him hard. Anyways his decision making window has been extended since his UNC visit, and he is likely looking to see where Meeks is going to be after this season. (It is my understanding that if Meeks is a late first or early second round pick that Roy and Kennedy are on the same page that it is best for him to go).
Alkins since going to Word of God Christian Academy has visited UNC 3 times and to my knowledge NCSU 1 time (correct me if I am wrong on this one). He is going to wait the last possible minute to see how the rosters look for his finalists. He and Roy have a really really good relationship, and I like our chances especially if we wiff on Woods and Justin Jackson goes pro. I will go on record and say he would be the best SG UNC has had since McCants, he is a scoring machine.
Woods is just a guess. My guys don’t have a clue either. His recruitment has been extremely tight lipped and up to this point neither staff knows. He did attend a USC exhibition game this past weekend, so they got the last visit, which makes me think he is theirs, but the people who truly know which way he is leaning are probably just him and his parents.
