I know you and I have our differences of who the best PG is, but those are solid predictions.  Only two I might change is Bridges to Michigan State and Seventh Woods to UNC.  But it would not shock me if they went to UK and USC respectively.

Don’t see how NC state all of a sudden get a type of player like Dennis. Especially Dennis looking to be one and done and Barber will still be there. Only team in the country that can convince a one and done type of player to share his role with another elite prospect is UK. If I had to predict what team he would go to is Kentucky cause of John Wall being his bro.

i wish Josh and Rawle were running the wings at UK but I think Josh is heading to Michigan state.

Monk will have to play the 2 next year if he comes Ulis ain’t going anywhere.

First, Dennis Smith Jr. is from North  Carolina

Second, All the rumors have him and Edrice Adebayo as a package deal

Third, UK just offered them, meaning they wasn’t recruiting him that long

Forth, The John Wall don’t have anyhting to do with his recruiting

Fifth, I believe sports branding sway kids to schools, so I believe Josh Jackson goes to a under armour school

Sixth, I believe Coach Cal wil have Ulis on the bench to start the game.

Seventh, Rumors are that Malik Monk will go to a school that will allow him to be the point guard and Coach Cal is rumored to let him play the point guard position at Kentucky. But if I was Malik Monk I would go to SMU and get coached up by Larry Brown

First, That doesn’t matter he wants to be the #1 pick.

2nd, alright there’s still 300 different schools they could go together.

3rd, he still put UK on his list and that’s the only one that makes sense if he wants to be a NBA top pick unless derryck Thornton transfers from Duke.

4th, you’re right, no way a top PG in the country would look up to his superstar PG friend who made the same decision to leave NC and it worked out very well for him. He’s going to disregard the success john wall got from picking kentucky.

5th, so they say, but that’s not the most important thing in the world. Jaylen brown gave every indication he wanted an Adidas school but that didn’t work out.

6th, if the two best backcourt guys, if monk comes are him and Ulis, or him and Briscoe, or him and dennis, he’s playing the 2.

7th, don’t think he comes to UK if he really wants to play point.

          1.  I was indicating being from the state helps pull him to a state school.
          2. Those 300 schools is not recruiting both of them and all the experts have them both going to NC State
          3. He can be a top pick anywhere he goes. Anthony Bennett was the number one pick and he went to UNLV, Jaylen Brown is about to be a top 4 pick while going to California
          4. I never said he won’t look up to him. I’m pretty sure John Wall is not swaying him to go to Kentucky, good friends wouldn’t do that. I’m just saying it’s his choice and we seen plenty of times that recruits friends linked to one school and they go to another.
          5. Yeah that didn’t work out, but what about Antonio Blakeney. We can go back and forth.
          6. Briscoe is going pro and if you read my other predictions I have Rawle Alkins also commiting too Kentucky. Malik Monk and Rawles Alkins is better than Tyler Ulis
          7. Rumors are that Cal said he will be playing the point if he commits to UK and he’s been comparing him to Westbrook
          8. To your earlir discussion with "ncballer" Cat Barber and Dennis Smith will be playing together if he choose to commit to NC State and Cat Barber doesn’t enter the NBA draft after this season. We have seen many of duel point guards play together.

Too lazy to reply each subtopic. We’ll see though, PG’s want the ball in their hands, barber and smith won’t work. Gottfried ain’t good enough to figure that out. Blakeney went to LSU because of ben lol. Rawle would play the 3 if he came here and we don’t get another elite wing.

Trust me Dennis and Bam to NCSU is not a done deal yet, but it would be hard to pry them away.  The Adidas brand is a huge role in their recruitments, and they have a lot of pressure and incentives to go to NCSU.  Almost everyone in NC is aware of this.

Much different situation.  I get you’re a UK fan and you want Smith bad.  You are talking to a UNC homer and I want both bad.  But NCSU has everything going for them.  The shoes and people in their inner circles pushing them there.

They aren’t as tight with Wall as Brown was with Abdur Raheem.

I’m not saying this in a bias way, but I’m being reasonably in saying he’s not going to want to share ball handling duties on a team that hasn’t produced a top 5 pick. Idk when the last top PG prospect did that, it’s probably never happened. I also said if Thornton transfers than Duke would make the most sense.

Believe me it is perplexing to me as a UNC guy to think that either of them would even consider NCSU.  They are the red headed step child of the state.  That being said, Smith will be a top 5 pick wherever he goes and would start over Cat Barber (if he doesn’t transfer or gets suspended).  The kid will start anywhere in the country imho.  His choice does not matter as much as Bams.

Bam is really overrated on this site.  He on the other hand needs to go to a school that would develop him.  I think he is a 2 or 3 year player.  Plays with a major motor, but benefits from being stronger than 95% of the people he matches up with.  He would be making a mistake IMHO if he were to go to NCSU.  Gottfried is not the guy you want developing bigs.

Just don’t shoot the messenger.  They are both headed to NCSU at the moment.  It is not set in stone yet, but I don’t see things changing, unless something major were to happen.

In regards to Duke I would be shocked if Dennis ends up there.  They came out as the front runners, but I have heard that the Smith’s aren’t happy with Duke recruiting Thornton.  I believe their is a mutual understanding he won’t end up there as Duke seems to be prioritizing Frank Jackson now.

Ehhhh Barber just led them to an elite 8, and he will be a senior when Dennis is a frosh. Dennis is better, but you don’t do that to your top tier college PG. It just doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.

Also I don’t get why the package all of a sudden is him and bam bam. He just put in his blog the Giles, Dennis, and Tatum package isn’t dead either. if somehow Thornton leaves, who knows lol.

                   1.  NCSU lost in the sweet 16 and were led by Trevor Lacey (I am shocked he didn’t at least get invited to a training camp, but that’s a different story).  Barber is also a locker room nightmare who at times lost his starting spot to Tyler Lewis while he was still there.

                  2.  Recruiting these days is highly political haha.  If Thornton leaves it could be a game changer, but to me it seems like both parties have moved on.  One thing I have learned is to watch what they do, not what they say.  When Dennis has not been on the circuit he has been playing pick up ball at NCSU and UNC.  Ultimately I think the shoe influence puts him at NCSU.

I guess what you are unintentionally saying is Barber is going to be out soon? If that happens, then yeah, I can see Dennis going to NCST. But I just don’t see removing Barber from his PG duties and put him on the bench for his senior season is an option.

Yes there’s some politics but there’s still the I can do what I want cause I’m an elite prospect attitude. You may be right about Dennis and Duke. We’ll see though.

I believe a lot of the under armour kids will go with Maryland. I also believe Trevon Duval (2017) will end up there.

I don’t know. I think the ties between AAU shoe contracts and schools are more like tiebreakers than the primary or significant motive for a student-athlete choosing a school. For a player it’ll always be intrinsic upon what’ll put them in the best situation, which trumps shoe relationships or package deals and etc.

Like for instance, Diamond Stone had really unconvential school choices for his final list with Maryland, Wisconsin, UCONN and Oklahoma St. and Maryland was the really the only won that could give him most of the things a top recruit craves for. It fits the needs as a national championship contender for next year, the shoe contract relationship was there, they pretty much had a hole at his spot that he could fill and play high minutes enough to maybe be a one-and-done candidate and because they’ll be a national championship contender, as well as historically being sort of a marquee school, they’ll have plenty of spotlight. So the Under Armour conection was a piece of the pie but it wasn’t the whole pie.

Like Josh Jackson is very different because his list of interests are filled with other powerhouse schools in the likes the Arizona, Kansas, MSU, Kentucky, and Duke. Also, some of the things that enticed Stone to come will be gone with Layman graduation and maybe Trimble and Stone himself going to the league as well. I see him going to Arizona, especially now that’s his last year in high school will be in west coast and he’ll very much start over Ray Smith with no problem.

Now for Markelle Fultz or Trevon Duval it’s different since they’re both from the Maryland recruiting area and both Under Armour kids. Fultz actually being from the DMV area, so even more incentives there.

This is a pretty good list though.

Being a UNC homer as well it is shocking to me that Bam Bam and Smith would be leaning toward NC State over Carolina.  Let’s be completely honest here, Roy is a hall of fame coach, although the last 4 years Carolina has been down because of the inability to sign top talent.  He does have 2 national titles, 7 final fours and over 700 victories though.  When you compare his resume to Gottfried’s, it’s a complete mismatch.  It is just my pure frustration that Carolina has lost it’s way with recruiting mainly due to the whole academic scandal.  Losing out on 2 of the top talents in the state, let alone the country to NC State?  Makes me livid.
