trombonematrix43ParticipantSo the 2016 draft is only 300 plus days away! My question is to all is why would nbadraft.net have Cheick Diallo going #4 while draft express has him going at 14? I haven’t seen much of Cheick play aside from videos on each website.

BallerScriptParticipantDiallo is an athletic bigman who uses his physical tools to excel on offense on defense. I think draftexpress has him going so low because he doesn’t have much in the way of a consistent jumper or postgame.

OhCanada-ParticipantHe’s the type of guy that will likely get 10 ppg on easy buckets like fast break leakouts, offensive rebounds, easy screens and rolls to the basket and his defensive game is legit in either frontcourt position. He knows his role and plays hard and he is so fluid running the floor and fluid with his movements its hard to believe he won’t develop an offensive game. I’d take him in the lotto of the 2015 draft.

BiggysmallsParticipantI haven’t seen him play, but that sounds a lot like what Cliff Alexander was supposed to be able to do.
These big athletic 6’9 guys are hard to evaluate becase their tape only shows them dunking. Can he do anything else beyond dunk?
Is the 2016 draft supposed to be particularly strong compared to 2015 and 2014? I’m curious. Assuming the Wolves will be picking in the top 7 so I’m curious if they can get a franchise piller type player that far down or are we talking role player/major project at that point?

trombonematrix43ParticipantFrom one year out, I’d say it’s shaping up to be a really good draft class. Ben Simmons seems to be in the same breath as Andrew Wiggins talent wise so that must mean something. At least, there was a forum topic debating the two a few weeks ago. I think the consensus is Wiggins was the better prospect but you are not insane to ask the question.

ZachAttackParticipantZhou Qi was another surprise difference between the two mocks. DraftExpress has him going 12, this site has him going 34. I guess nobody really knows about him since he plays in China.

BiggysmallsParticipantHe’s a basketball player. Going to be a freshman at Kansas next year. At the top of the main page there’s a lottery mock draft and he’s like a top 5 guy on there. If you click on his name, you will get a little bit more info.

trelos6ParticipantI see Diello’s comparison to Aaron Gordon/Cliff Alexander.
He is a high energy guy who is really athletic. At his best, he is motivated and can play like Aaron Gordon, dunking over everyone and pulling in rebounds.
At his worst, he is like Cliff Alexander. Undersized, slow, unmotivated, and rubbish.
I think Diello is definitely a NBA talent, likely ceiling being Kenneth Faried, unless he develops his game in the next few years.

rich.homie.mitchParticipant2016 draft to me is shallow with only 3 stars. Simmons, Brown, and Skal. This could all change with time though.

sitlbitoParticipantThis looks like the international draft. From Cheick Diallo to Ben Simmons to Dragan Bender,Jacok Poetl,Korkmaz,Guven,Jeanne,Gombault,Yabusele,Vezenkov, and I forget a lot of names. A lot of international talent coming.

Memphis MadnessParticipantIt should be the Skal Show in Kentucky this year.
Not sure what his best NBA position will be.
Power forward?
He is a 7 footer but is actually not that long. I think his wing span is 7’2 or something like that. Maybe a little less.
The hope is he turns into an even taller Kevin Durant — a 7 foot sharp shooting, athletic scoring small forward. But, it’s too early to tell.
