AdamJCallejaParticipantWho would’ve thought that the 2015 Draft class would show more promise (at the moment) than the 2014 class that was seen as one of the best draft classes since 2003. Of course way too early to make a true decision but in my eyes the 2015 class looks deeper and shows more promise right now, what do you guys think?

SubZeroParticipantI agree. However if Parker, Randle, and Exum hadn’t all suffered setbacks from injuries and if Embiid could even sniff the court, it might be a different story. Towns and Porzingis are franchise-level talents though which is enough to carry most draft classes, then you add in potential stars like Okafor, Russell, Mudiay, Johnson, and Hezonja, and potential quality starters (too many to count) and you have a great class. This is one of my favorites in a long time

Hype MachineNow that the dust has settled, is it possible that the Kings actually won the Stauskas (pick #8) trade? A concept that seemed ridiculous at the time.
Stauskas isn’t an NBA player for me. His best case scenario at this point is backup SG..and worst case is what we’re already seeing.
The Kings are only 1 game out of the playoffs and signed a couple of pretty good free agents with the cap space they free’d up in the trade. Rondo, Bellineli. I’m actually confident they have the talent to make the playoffs, and those pick swaps seem highly unlikely at this stage.
It’s not like Philly got fleeced, but I don’t think they hustled Sacramento as much as everyone thought at the time. So basically the Kings are giving up a pick in the 10-20 range.
It was a complicated trade….am I missing something here?

dazeoneParticipantThe part where Sacramento got fleeced is they gave Philly the opportunity to trade picks for the next 2 drafts before they get the pick in 2018. We all know the situation with Coach Karl..Rondo…and Cousins could implode at any minute. Cousins already cursed the coach out, Rondo got suspended,as well as the Kings being the Kings. If they are in the lottery the next 3 years it’s a jackpot for the Sixers because they get the higher of the picks as well as the 2018 pick.Rondo will probably leave after this season. He is on a 1 year deal.

Hype MachineYeah I kinda see the benefit for both teams….I dont think its a fleecing though.
It was until Stauskas became a liability and Rondo and Bellenelli signed with the cap space.
The pick swaps are possible but unlikely…and Phillys picks will be top 4 anyhow so Sacramento would still get a great pick if they won the lottery…just 1 or 2 spots lower.
I like that Rondo fit though. He might stick around.
Not the great steal that everyone thought at the time.

Jr. ROXASParticipantIt doesn’t help that Parker, Randle, Exum and Embiid suffered season-long injuries while Gordon and Smart have aso missed significant amounts of time with injuries too. That’s 6 of your top 7 picks right there. This may be the unluckiest class ever.

khaled_a_dParticipantActually I expected that .but only last season when the 2014 class was starting to show it wasn’t as good as advertized
Obviously long time to go for all of them .but so far I think 2015 has at least 3 franchise players Towns, Porzingis & Okafor
I knew Okafor isn’t as popular at the moment as the other 2 but I think he has all the skills to be dominant scoring and rebounding big man while being at least average defensively .the Sixers aren’t really helping him much but man his offensive game is a thing of beauty for a post playerAs for 2014 it seem only Wiggins will carry them ,plenty of good other players but not sure if they are gonna be Superstar kind of player .Embiid health is the biggest question
