I know the mock right now is an initial look but there is only four PG being projected to be selected in the first round of next years draft. So outside of Wall, Warren, Collins, and Walker the PG class is very weak compared to last year.
Does anyone think someone else has a chance to springboard into the first round this year – there are Deonta Vaughn, Isiah Thomas…..

Jerome Randle, Isaiah Thomas, and Scottie Reynolds are the guys behind them I’d say for this year…

I know Deonta (he’s from Inpls) and I wouldn’t sleep on him. He trains with Eric Gordon, Courtney Lee, George Hill and both Teagues during the summer. He holds his own easily too. A very physical guard who has A LOT of confidence and offensive ability.

If Iman Shumpert comes out he could rise up draft boards fast…

Edit: Oh and VT’s Malcolm Delaney could surprise too.

I see just 2 guys who can be in the lottery, and the are maybe only two in the first round..Warren and Bradley and both are combo guards however, Bradley is scorer and his playmaking is nothing like PGs Warren handle the ball amazing and can give some really nice passes but his assist avg isn’t big and he is also too good scorer(even better then Bradley I think) not to play SG, and don’t forget he is 6’4 and around 210lbs i think so there is no problems to be good SG.

it’s very interesting…2009draft was draft of point guards but first was star PF(and there wasn’t any others good bogs), this year there will be super talent in power forwards with PG ahead of all them( but without him I don’t see any good really pgs)

so lalaila im guessing you feel the same way about t.evans out in sac as you do warren cuz you described him to a t. as far as pg im not sure many get selected since most if not all teams have there pg for the future and back up. off the top of my head i cant think of a team looking needing a pg next year..i could be wrong but i cant think of one off the top of my head

Thomas, in my opinion, is a great scorer for a point guard, but at 5’8” he needs to improve his ability to create for his teammates, and I don’t think it would be wise for him to leave after his sophomore year and enter the 2010 draft. I think he needs to work on his point guard skills, much like Sherron Collins has done over the past couple seasons at Kansas. Thomas like Collins is very strong and can get to the basket at will, but for a point guard that short to be drafted, he has to up his low assist numbers, and work on creating shots for his teammates.

I think Thomas will be a great college player, but will probably be a late first rounder whenever he comes out. It’s too bad becuase if he was 4-6 inches taller, he could be a top 5 pick. but I doubt he will develop as a pg. He didn’t play much pg last year and with Abdul Gaddy coming in to take over the point for washington, I doubt Isiah see’s much time there any time soon. He is a shorter version of Iverson. He has a chance to win confrence player of the year this year.
