Sorry.Winning.ParticipantLooking back at that 2010 draft I was wondering which one-and-done players should have stayed. Here’s my list.
Xavier Henry- He started for a little while and never got into a good grove. Lack of playing time doesn’t help him either. If he stayed a team with Josh Selby, Xavier Henry, and the Morris twins would have been a dangerous team plus the kid could use the playing time to develop more.
Daniel Orton- I don’t think he has played a minute in the NBA, he was in the NBDL for a while. He really didn’t play much at UK either but if he stayed he would be starting and UK would have a big man since Enes Kanter is ineligible.
Lance Stephenson- Another guy who hasn’t played a minute in the NBA. I know in high school he was a hot commodity but had character issues and what not, which is another reason why he hasn’t seen the floor in the NBA.
Keith "Tiny" Gallon- Played pretty well his freshmen year but still had room to improve which is why he was a second round pick and is now in the NBDL.
Hassan Whiteside- He was an older freshmen and was once thought to be a lottery pick but I could see him being like DeAndre Jordan and become at least a god backup center.
I know alot (if not all) of my opinions are generic but if these guys stayed and focused on bettering themself they could have found themself in a better position than they are now (hindsight bias). What is everyone else’s views on these guys?

Sorry.Winning.ParticipantWhat about Avery Bradley I thought about putting him in there too? I know he has been injured this year.

llperezthe two guys who i might disagree with are henry and orton simply becasue they got gauranteed first round money. Its entirely possible if orton came back he would have been exposed as nothing special and never got drafted in the first round. But from a development standpoint and getting better i agree with you on all these guys.

Sorry.Winning.ParticipantI know Henry got his money and all but if he stayed he would have had a chance to go to a team that he would have gotten playing time on and a team that needs a shooting guard like the Nets, Cavs, or Timberwolves (if they own their pick this year I forgot).

Stanford hoops1i see what you y’all are saying. It was a bad idea for Henry and Orton to come out as far as being ready but a great idea that they came out since they were first round picks. I think Whiteside made a mistake though since he ended up int he second round and would probably be a lotto pick this year since there isn’t many good big men in this years draft

Whiteside is 50/50 in my book of being a mistake. Although he went in the 2nd Round of the draft, throughout the whole process he was projected as a 1st Rounder, even a Top 5 at 1 point & time. He stock took a hit after the declaration deadline. Draft Day steal in my book for a frontcourt heavy team.

Stanford hoops1I think his stock took a hit during the workouts. And now that i think about it i think he made a good choice in a way because he was getting second round guarantees( meaning he would get picked and get signed not just get picked)

SwatLakeCityParticipantI agree with all of these but what about others that should have staed even though they are not one and done’s like Gordon Hayward. He has no confidence whatsoever. I definitely think another year could help his confidence and his playng level. He should have stayed for his junior year.
