2007 Draft redone

im a clipper fan, but i disagree with thornton being #3. he is already 27 years old and has some big flaws in his game. oden still should be top 5 also.

id still take thortan over chandler..hes played better then chandler minus so far this year..thortan in that knicks offense would be dropping buckets

I still think Durant and Oden will be top 2 no matter what, Oden still has potential to be a dominating center, where a player like Green comes every draft or two

Oden is still getting better and a all-star caliber center who can defend and clean the glass is more valuable then really good perimiter players who are not stars. Oden would still be top 2, no question. Just because it has been a couple seasons doesn’t mean you just throw the whole potential factor out the window.

I don’t know why Durant over Oden is obvious. They are both young players (would be entering their senior years in college) defensively it isnt even close. Whenever Oden is on the floor, it becomes much harder for the opposing team to score in the paint. The general rule of thumb with blocks it that he may block X number of shots, but he alters twice that number. Oden stil blocks shots at a higher point than anyone in the league with the possible exception of Howard.Not to mention that Oden is asked to do far less than Durant, and that isn’t indicative of skill. Thats indicative of team depth. The way your talking, Bynum wouldnt move up the 2005 draft because Bogut, and arguably Channing Frye had better starts to their careers.

And its still way to early to be certain of anything with these players. What if Durant never wins? What if he just puts up great numbers for a losing franchise a la Mitch Richmond or Adrian Dantley. Its way way too early to even think about redrafts, especially when players like Brandan Wright, Hawes, Wright, both Youngs, Chandler, Conley, Brewer, Horford (who could end up being the best player from the draft) are still developing.

Why not the class of 2004 or 2005? its been 5 years and we’ve seen the majority of their devolpment cycle… Hell 2005 is too soon with players that are 23 or 24 and still developing, like Bynum, Ellis, Lou Williams, CJ Miles and Martell Webster…

so all in all this is way to soon to say who will be what, especially since a lot of players, the majority of the class of 2007 are still developing, and even more so since Oden has less NBA game experience than a lot of players in the 2008 draft.
