Player of the Week

Ian Jackson, North Carolina

Jackson has really elevated his game over the past stretch of games of the season. He has had 20 points or more in six of his last eight games. He continued that trend with 20 points in the win against California but that stalled in the squad’s loss to Stanford when he put up 6 points. Jackson continues to show promise and why he is currently being projected as a lottery pick for the upcoming NBA Draft.

Who’s Hot

Duke Blue Devils

Duke has been on an impressive win streak that has spanned 12 games. They are playing like the best team in the nation right now and are led by potential No.1 pick Cooper Flagg who has been arguably the best player in college basketball since December. Everyone knows how talented Duke is but will this year finally be the year it will be able to get back to winning it all?

Hunter Sallis, Wake Forest

Sallis has been a big part of how the Demon Deacons have been a solid team in the ACC. The squad is currently on a five game win streak and Sallis has been heating up. In the team’s win against Stanford, Sallis put up 30 points, 4 rebounds and 1 block. In the later game of the week, he put up 24 points, 7 rebounds and 2 steals. Sallis has put up over 20 points in the last 7 games and won the league’s ACC Player of the Week.

Wake Forest Demon Deacons

The Demon Deacons have climbed their way up the standings in the ACC. The squad is currently on a six game winning streak and haven’t shown any signs of stopping. They are now third in the ACC and 15-4 overall this season. The black and gold could be a dangerous team as we get closer to March.

Who’s Cold

Boston College Golden Eagles

The Golden Eagles have hit a rough stretch as of late as they are on a five game losing streak. They are one of the teams sitting at the bottom of the conference and it could be too late to turn things around. Boston College has to get things figured out quickly if they want any chance of having a successful season.

Pittsburgh Panthers

Pitt was on fire at the beginning of the season and it seems that run might be starting to hit reality. The Panthers are on a four game losing streak and have slipped down the standings in the conference. The blue and yellow are 12-6 and could definitely turn its season around with a few wins in the upcoming stretch.

Top Five Point Scorers in a Game so far this season

2. JJ Starling, Syracuse

Starling is one of the leaders for the Orange. Against Youngstown State, the junior put up a career high 38 points in the double overtime victory for Syracuse. Starling is a big factor of how the Orange’s season will go and he could be a second round pick in next year’s NBA Draft.

3. Maxime Raynaud, Stanford

Raynaud has continued to make a name for himself this season and has entered draft boards now being considered a second round pick. Raynaud put up 33 points against UC Davis and has been one of the main reasons the Cardinal have had a solid start to the season.

4. Chucky Hepburn, Louisville

Hepburn is one of the reasons Louisville is one of the hottest teams in the country right now. He had 32 points against West Virginia and has been a leader for the black and red. He’s someone who could sneak onto draft boards as the season continues.

5. J’Vonne Hadley, Louisville

Another reason the Cardinals have arrived near the top of the conference is Hadley. The fifth-year put up 32 points against Clemson and has been a key part of the squad. He could be an undrafted free agent that could sneak onto an NBA roster next season.
