The Debate for the NBA’s 3rd Best Player May Be Over

He is definitely 3rd right now and slowly sneeking in there with LeBron and Durant. LeBron I think is on the decline already, though physically only. While Durant right now is injured but definitely would be the same player when he comes back. With the way Davis is playing right now, being no.1 is not too far away. He is currenly no. 1 in PER that would be no. 1 all-time. He needs to win though, and so far Pelicans is on the rise.

Before the season started and the MVP talk arose, many were quick to dismiss him taking home the award citing although he will have a great year, it is not his time.

Anyone with the opinion AD was too young or not his year to win it willing to change their positions?

I am not sure the last player to do it, but I would guess it is an elite club. What is also just as impressive he is averaging only 1.3 turnovers a game and doing a good job not fouling, which as a big man would be hard in today’s NBA.

 Wether AD can get the MVP award really depends on how good the pelicans are. If he can get the Pelicans into the playoffs and a solid seed and averages a tad under those figures I cannot see anyone else taking home the award. It is still early and only 11 games into the seasons for his Pelicans but it is a real chance.

He’s amazing, yet still has so much room to grow. We’ve still not seen him develop a real back to the basket game, draw doubles and make the right passes to teammates. Imagine when or if he gets that… Scary. He’d be the best player in the NBA I think.

 Man I’m a Pelicans fan, and I said on this site before he was drafted, that I didn’t think he would be what people said he would be, I thought he would be a good player, even an all star, but I didn’t think he would be THIS!! 26 points, 11 boards, 3.5 blocks 2 steals, 2 assists, 58% from the field and 80% from the line at 21!!  Crazy part is he has so much room to grow, he really still doesn’t have a post game, still makes some mistakes when passing, mid-range jumper still isn’t automatic. He’s going to be amazing at 24. Like a supernova. 

I’m glad I was wrong, I just have to thank Yeezy and thank the Basedgod!! (I just hope he doesn’t leave in 4 years).

Off topic but DeMarcus Cousins, Anthony Davis, Kevin Love, LaMarcus Aldridge, Chris Bosh, Blake Griffin, Andre Drummond and Nikola Vucevic still have room to improve but they are good, and I have high hopes for Jahlil Okafor, Karl Towns, and Joel Embiid. Who said the big man was dead?

I love Ant Davis game, but he hasn’t proven he can win at this stage of his career.  Regardless of the health concerns sorrounding his team since his rookie year, players have to at the very LEAST make the playoffs…  You are legit putting him above players that have dominated this league for many seasons and took their teams to the playoffs year in and year out…  

This site did the same sh!t with Paul George the beginning of last season…  Let’s talk about his potential or the progress he’s shown…  Let’s not say things like "He’s the 3rd best player in the league" when he can’t get his team to the playoffs…
