I think this was probably one of the few things that it seemed everyone on this site agreed on. They should have figured this out last year.

 At least the Pelicans are committed to their plan of not drafting anybody.  

Anyways, it isn’t really a bad deal.  The Pelicans have already decided against pursuing a youth movement, so getting a nice veteran can help.  They should contend for the 8th seed next season, at least if some members of the team don’t get injured.

 Great trade for both teams. Asik is perfect for the Pelicans and it clears space for the Rockets.

i wonder if Lin is going to get traded to the Sixers along with the a Rockets 1st rounder this year to clear even more space.

If this is legit, it’s perfect. Davis doesn’t have to play Center anymore and Asik is a very good big man who gets a lot of flack for no reason at all.

 As a pelican I am really happy about not only did we get Asik but didn’t  trade Ryan Anderson in the process and once again the pick is protected.

 I have mixed feelings about this trade.

-I liked Asik, he was a beast for us 2 years ago when he by himself manned the paint admirably all season. Plus i thought he was worth a little more than a 1st round pick from the Pelicans who will probably land something like the #12-15 pick next year. 

-Its gonna be harder to trade Lin now all by himself. I dont think alot of teams like the $8.4M cap hit and the actual $15M hit they gotta pay him this year. I doubt we’re able to trade him just by himself without attaching a pick to him. Plus i thought he would improve again this year and was anxious to see how much.

-Most of All, why i have mixed feelings about this is: This means we’re probably gonna get Melo. I like Melo, but not at all for this team. He doesnt fit. We have 2 guys already in Harden and Howard who ARE NOT LEADERS. Neither is Melo. Melo needs a PG facilitating for him to be at his best. Think how good he was when he had Chauncey billups and J-Kidd with him those years. 

-McHale is not gonna be able to coach this bunch. I dont like him as a coach, especially for these 3 types of personalities. They’re gonna run HIM and not the other way around. And i dont like Mchale period as a head coach, he’s a terrible strategist. We lost the 1st round this year because of his incompetent moves and Harden being a no-show again.

-Now we have to go out and get another quality Big man. They are hard to find.

Reports are that he’s put on 10-15 lbs of muscle. With Jrue Holiday, Eric Gordon, Tyreke Evans and Ryan Anderson… Williams has no excuses.

 Pelicans keep making moves that they’ll regret soon enough. Almost everyone on their roster besides Ryan Anderson and Ant are overpaid and have long term deals. Sure they’re a solid team right now but they might not even make the playoffs considering how strong the West is. And if they do it’ll be close to impossible to knock off the Spurs/Thunder/Clips/Warriors/Blazers/Rockets etc. God damn the WC is crazy
