Effect we have on Aran

Nope. Not even  half the player Bayless was at the same point in college. He needs to prove what he can do  before i make a comparison. Too many people are just going by what he did in H.S but they fail to realize this isn’t H.S anymore

Yeah, we definitely have a big effect on him. When kobyz made a topic telling Aran to change Marcus Morris’ comparison to Al Harrington, Aran immediately changed it lol.

These are three comparisons that I have seen that I do not agree with. In parenthesis I have put who I think they should be compared to.

Jared Sullinger=Kevin Love (Elton Brand)

Derrick Williams=David West/Micheal Beasley (Antwaun Jamison/Danny Granger)

Jimmer Fredette=Mark Price/Eddie House (Ben Gordon)

Before I saw Perry Jones compared to T-mac but many times I said on other forums that he reminds me of Anthony Randolph and just yesterday I was looking at his comparison and I noticed that it had been changed to that same player.

 Tracy Mcgrady-Perry Jones Nenard Crapstick/Primo Brezzedick-Jonas Valanciunas Enes Kanter-Al Horford 

Word, I agree. Bayless was 1000000 times better then Selby in college. He made the right choice coming out too, even though his career has been less then spectacular.

No doubt that Bayless was more productive in college than Selby. However, the two have similar playing styles/tendencies and could be similar players in the NBA. I think that’s a very good comparison.

 its not a good comparison at all,unless u think Selby will be a back up point guard for his career like Nate Robinson

I don’t — nor have I ever — seen Selby as much more than a backup guard. He has potential, but so does Bayless.

I think it’s a good comparison. No doubt Bayless was the better college player as a freshman, but they both have similar traits. They both have similar heights and short arms, are both combo guards, and they both play aggressive, even though Selby hasn’t really played aggressive this season.

lakeshow is right, that Bayless comparison is horrible, the comparison would be good if Selby was still in high school, but he’s not. He’s not playing nearly the way he did in high school and the comparison is not good anymore. It’s really hard to compare anyone to him cause he hasn’t really played enough and shown us anything at all yet.

I can name a bunch of players who had similar traits as Bayless. Slasher, athletic, fast. But it doesn’t mean i will compare them if they haven’t proved that they can show it consistently in a game. If Selby wasn’t a H.S All American and people never seen a highlight or seen him play in H.Sand just went by what he has done in college against better comp, the comparison wouldn’t even be thought of being made. Its like Barnes and Kobe, He’s proven he can play but the comparisons were made because of what he did in H.S. Its all about proving it/earning it to me its not just given because of what you did in H.S once you start playing college.

It might have been more appropriate when he was in H.S because that’s all we could go by but now we can go by what he has done in College against better competition

aran hits me up all the time to make sure i lke his rankings and comments and comparisons. Hes usually pretty good but im correcting that bozo all the time on stuff.

Mollom doesn’t let him post on Sundays. It was the day Mollom rested while creating this site, and Aran has to respect that.

I think hes saying Selby will play similar to how Bayless plays in the NBA. Athletic, backup PG, great athletisism, tons of ranger and potential. I think its a right on comparison.

Based off of what?  And dont include H.S because he’s in college now and should be judged against college competition. When he was scoring he was scoring off of threes and even then didn’t get to the whole with ease. Doesn’t sound anything like Bayless to me. And after those good games he hasn’t been hitting his shots, getting to the basket, or dropping dimes

 ^ pretty much, you can’t judge him off of high school. Based off college he’s been pretty bad, with how he’s playing now I’d say he compares to Willie Green. Obviously he can improve on that as he has huge potential, but at this point he’s no Bayless.

Dexter Strickland is more comparable to Bayless right now then Josh selby. Not the best of shooter’s but gets in the lane at will and is pretty quick

Which means the Josh Selby comparison is wayyyyy worst because he has done next to nothing

Quincey didn’t you compare your nephew to Grant Hill? Has he lived up to that? No. Selby had a lot that went wrong, and next year will probably show why he was a HS AA. Give him a break.
